Created in celebration of Ford’s 100th anniversary and as an homage to the Le Mans-winning GT40 race car, the first-generation Ford GT is one of the most iconic supercars of the 21st century. It features a lightweight aluminum construction and analog performance with a 6-speed manual transmission paired with a supercharged 5.4-liter V8 engine rated at 550 HP. This 2005 example is one of 2,027 produced for the model year out of 4,038 cars in total. It comes finished in Mark IV Red over Ebony leather upholstery and was factory-equipped with all four available options comprised of painted racing stripes, red brake calipers, a McIntosh stereo system, and BBS forged lightweight wheels. It was purchased new by the original owner from Ford of Bellevue and remained under their care until it was acquired by the seller. This highly collectible Ford GT is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Washington with under 9k miles showing on the odometer.

Designed by Camilo Pardo as a modern interpretation of the Le Mans-winning GT40 race cars, the Ford GT features lightweight aluminum body panels mounted to an extruded aluminum spaceframe chassis. The exterior includes a vented hood, air scoops behind the doors, a front splitter, side skirts, a rear diffuser, dual center-exit tailpipes, and a rear clamshell with a transparent engine window, cooling vents, and side air intakes. Other exterior equipment includes a dual center-exit exhaust system, HID headlamps, a forged aluminum fuel door, fog lights, power-adjustable mirrors, and solar-tinted glass. This example is finished in Mark IV Red with optional painted white racing stripes and red brake calipers. This GT rides on optional 18”/19” BBS forged aluminum wheels dressed in Bridgestone Potenza Scuderia tires (2820). The seller describes the exterior to be in very good condition and notes the front splitter and rear diffuser have been replaced. A clean CARFAX report is provided in the photo gallery.

The cabin is upholstered in Ebony leather including manually adjustable Sparco bucket seats with carbon-fiber backrests and GT40-style ventilation grommets. Other details include aluminum-rimmed GT40-style instrumentation, GT40-inspired dash-mounted toggle switches, a cast magnesium center console with rotary climate controls, and an aluminum ball shifter, handbrake, and door sill finishers with Ford badges. The driver is provided with air conditioning, remote keyless entry, push-button ignition, and the optional McIntosh CD stereo which equips a subwoofer mounted between the seats.

The all-aluminum alloy 5.4-liter DOHC V8 features a Lysholm screw-type supercharger and produces up to 550 HP and 500 lb.-ft of torque, which is sent to the rear wheels through a Ricardo 6-speed manual transaxle and a helical limited-slip differential. The Ford GT can accelerate from 0-60 MPH in as little as 3.3 seconds with a top speed of over 200 MPH. Stopping power comes from Brembo four-piston monoblock brake calipers with cross-drilled and ventilated rotors measuring 14” in the front and 13.2” in the rear.

This sale will include a window sticker, a car cover, two keys, a Ford GT certificate, a reference guide, and a Ford GT duffle bag.

Also, do you have the battery tender that came from the factory? I see owners manuals are in pocket right side of center console. Did you know that?

@BOOOM @JAkeMacZ @RadmanThe front splitter was replaced and the rear diffuser was repaired. They were minor scratches from regular driving conditions.

  • BOOOM (registered bidder) 3 weeks, 3 daysago

@Seller - with less than 6 hours left, it’s crucial we get these pending questions answered. Excited to see this Ford GT in my garage.

  • JakeMacZ 3 weeks, 3 daysago

Are we to assume that the front spoiler and rear diffuser were replaced due to minor skirmishes with road irregularities and driveways?

  • Radman (registered bidder) 3 weeks, 4 daysago

Was the rear diffuser repaired or replaced? How were the splitter and diffuser damaged?

@zrh888 The McIntosh sound system is an added option from factory. The Ford GT only had 4 possible options to add on the car and the stereo system was one of them.

First and foremost a big thank you to the on-boarding auction manager and team at PCM! We are excited to bring you this beautiful piece of American history. The is much more than an early 2000's super car, it commemorates Fords success in LeMans . This car was traded in by one of our best Ferrari clients and he always takes incredible care of his cars. This one is special!
