Topping the R230 SL-Class model range, this 2005 Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG comes finished in Brilliant Silver Metallic over a Black/Anthracite leather interior. It derives over 600 HP from a 6.0-liter V12 Biturbo engine and comes equipped with two-piece AMG wheels, COMAND infotainment, bi-xenon headlights, Bose sound system, and a retractable hardtop. Cared for by one owner in California since new, this SL65 recently underwent annual service and is now being offered for auction with approximately 66k miles on the odometer.
Finished in Brilliant Silver Metallic (744), the body features AMG-specific styling including side skirts, a front spoiler, quad exhaust outlets, and specialized “V12 Biturbo” badging above the fender vents. Other equipment includes bi-xenon headlamps, a matching retractable hardtop, and two-piece 19” AMG wheels in dark grey with brushed outer lips. Specific to the SL65, these wheels come dressed in Michelin Pilot Sport A/S+ tires from 2020. The seller notes a slight scuff on the lower left front bumper and states a ceramic coating has been applied to the exterior, detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a CARFAX report showing damage to the right side in 2010.
The cabin is upholstered in Black/Anthracite leather with Black Ash wood trim. Features include heated and ventilated multicontour seats, Keyless-Go entry, a Bose sound system, dual-zone automatic climate control, and COMAND infotainment with navigation. The seller notes the interior was preserved with seat and steering wheel covers throughout the owner’s care.
Rated at 604 HP and 738 lb.-ft of torque, the AMG-built 6.0-liter V12 Biturbo engine drives the rear wheels by way of a 5-speed automatic transmission. A study by Car and Driver found the SL65 AMG capable of accelerating from 0-60 MPH in just 3.6 seconds. Service records are said to be available dating back to 2010 and the seller states a new OEM battery was recently installed along with new front brake pads and an oil change.

Did you do the service and brakes at your dealership or at a Mercedes dealership? Did the mechanic say why he did not turn the front rotors when he replaced the brake pads. I thought that was standard procedure with a brake pad change but I have been wrong before.
@whitetwinturbo Rear window cracked on its own. A couple thousand later at the authorized MB Dealer and a new one was installed and noted.
Interesting to see a shattered rear window replaced in 2019.

@MSCraven Yes! The original owner kept this car bubbled and covered/garaged when he was not using it. Always adult driven as an extra car as well so seat time was limited for him and now me w/ so many cars.
Still smells sharp in the cabin…
@1965gt350 I performed the annual service and the mechanic stated the pads were very low. I had the whole car looked over whenever it goes in for anything it may need. Also, he replaced the front pads and noted rotors are still fine for now.

Beautiful spec, those seats have no imprints! A lot of car for the money. My boss had one when new. I couldn’t imagine the original MSRP in lease payments!
Can you tell me why the strange wear pattern on the front rotors. Are the pads not contacting the whole face of the rotor? On one of the receipts with 6xxxx miles it indicated that the front pads were significantly worn. Were the rotors turned & pads changed after that or are they still in need of a brake service?

This is a stunning example for what Mercedes-Benz has to offer, THE SL65! A one owner car with a history of Mercedes-Benz dealer services matched with known private independent shops. Recently serviced as of September 2022, all the maintenance is up to date and current.
This SL65 has always been garage kept and stored by 1 owner. All the seats and leather components have minimal “wear” and were dressed in seat covers since new. A rare sight.

@manuals4ever Hi, unfortunately no. It was a slight scratch to the original seller’s garage. It was not in accident or collision.
