Now up for auction is this custom 2005 Porsche 997 Carrera Coupe.  Beginning with a lifelong California car showing just under 39k miles, this 6-speed 997 underwent a no-expense-spared transformation inspired by the Gemballa Avalanche. New carbon fiber body pieces were created and finished in a custom shade of Kosmos Red.  The interior has also been completely redone with new black leather and Alcantara upholstery, deviated red stitching, red-painted trim, a Gemballa-style steering wheel, and a $15k carbon fiber interior package from Wicked Motorworks.  Having recently completed its transformation within the last few hundred miles, this one-of-a-kind 997 Gemballa Avalanche tribute is being offered for auction by its owner out of Southern California while showing just over 39k miles on the odometer.

This 997 has been outfitted with new carbon fiber Gemballa-style body components including an aggressive front bumper, hood, rocker panels, rear quarters, rear wing, and rear bumper which includes Carrera GT style exhaust tips and a carbon fiber diffuser.  Carbon fiber accents were also added to the front bumper vent, air ducts, mirror inserts, and rear gurney flap.  Custom 991-style black housing Xenon headlamps were installed, and the taillights were tinted.  The car was finished in a custom House of Kolor shade of Kosmos Red.  Additional images are provided in the photo gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.  Yellow Gemballa Avalanche logo brake calipers are tucked behind the 19”x8” & 19”x11” Gemballa-style wheels which are dressed in Pirelli tires with custom white lettering.

Inside, this 997 showcases a black interior completely redone with new leather and Alcantara upholstery including diamond-pattern inserts on the seats, door panels, and front hood liner.  Red deviated stitching can be found throughout the cabin from the seats to the door panels, inner doorsills, dashboard, center console, and shift boot.  A full carbon fiber interior package from Wicked Motorworks was installed at a cost of $15k, and the PCM surround was painted red along with the switch panel, air vent slats, shifter surround, door pulls, and gauge bezels.  Custom red instrument dials were added including a Sport Chrono clock, Gemballa-logo 8k-RPM tachometer, and Avalanche-logo 200-MPH speedometer.  Other accessories include Avalanche-logo floormats, carbon fiber Gemballa-logo door sill guards, a red shift knob insert, and Gemballa-style steering wheel trimmed in black leather and Alcantara with carbon fiber inserts.

The original naturally aspirated 3.6L flat-six engine has been retained, which sends up to 325 HP and 273 lb.-ft of torque to the rear wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission.  The Sport Chrono Package Plus was also optioned from the factory which allows the driver to optimize performance characteristics with the press of a button.  The car is said to have been regularly serviced at Beverly Hills Porsche prior to the recent transformation, and a new Interstate battery has been installed.

This sale will include a clean title and an appraisal report from Pinnacle Auto Appraisers.  Created with impeccable attention to detail, this beautifully executed representation of Gemballa’s Avalanche offers a very special opportunity.  Do not miss your chance to own one of the most unique Porsche 997’s on the road.

@RehovLLC12 This is going to look like a quick response.. but there was a few minutes of deep thinking while scratching my chin. ;o) I like your lucky number... all 7s could be even luckier (for me) hehe. I'd go for it actually... all joking aside. That will work. I was hoping for more but that is a nice generous number, and I like your "lucky" comment. ;o) $77K will work.

  • RehovLLC12 (registered bidder) 2 years, 8 monthsago

Would you take 77,700 - just a lucky number.

  • NickM (seller) 2 years, 8 monthsago

@Dr.Ironman Thanks much. Sorry for the delayed response I was in Monterey with another car the last two days. I don't have my password etc. to log in to Pcar when using my phone. ;o)
    Cheers!

@orclean1 Hi, The original paint color was black. This car was completely stripped/taken apart and rebuilt with all new parts, then repainted with House of Kolors (brand) Kosmos red paint. As you can tell it is a smooth-as-glass-finish. ;o)

  • orclean1 (registered bidder) 2 years, 8 monthsago

    is all paint original

  • Dr.Ironman (registered bidder) 2 years, 8 monthsago

@805classics Hi again... forgot to mention: If you are familiar with Wicked Motorcars custom Porsche builds... they have built 3 of these Avalanche tribute Porsches. All based on a 997. I was told by the owner of Wicked, that their least expensive sale was $160K and two of them sold for over $200K... with I believe on of them $250K. There's were built with steel parts, this one with carbon fiber composite parts. Hopefully this helps you. ;o)

  • NickM (seller) 2 years, 8 monthsago

@805classics Yes, the car was built to sell. It was completed then driven only 200-300 miles as a shakedown... to work out any bugs and make sure everything was good to go. The 997 started out as a SUPER clean Porsche with zero issues. No paint scratches, dents or accidents. A perfect car... inside & out.
The car was just appraised a few months ago (for $181K). And, yes, it can be insured for its full insured appraisal by insurance companies like Grundy or Hagerty (& others). This appraisal can also be used for loans.. I believe JJ Best can do up to 90% of appraised value with exit credit. So it is a somewhat nice thing to have... as if someone were to get in an accident with you, the value of the car is written in concrete -with that appraisal.

@Dr.Ironman Thanks much! ;o) I dont think I can add more photos to the add here. Although there are some pretty good shots of those controls. As you can probably see in the photos of the controls, they are in excellent condition. the two outer dials show just a bit of wear... but not bad.

  • lovemyporsches 2 years, 8 monthsago

Beautiful car. Nicely done. Good luck to all.

  • Dr.Ironman (registered bidder) 2 years, 8 monthsago

Beautiful car. Could you provide a closeup photo of the A/C temp and fan speed control buttons? Thank you.

  • 805classics (registered bidder) 2 years, 8 monthsago

Hi, great looking car. I have already bid on it, but have a question. This looks to be a freshly built custom Porsche ….built/ finished just recently?
You built it to sell it?
I also noticed it has an appraisal of 181k…which seems kind of high … can the car be insured for 181k if I were to win it? Is there anything that needs to be serviced or done to the car?

Zero leaks from the RMS (rear main seal) and IMS not replaced... probably do that when it needs a clutch.

  • JakeMacZ 2 years, 8 monthsago

    IMS and RMS replaced?
