Up for auction is this 2005 Porsche 997 Carrera Coupe finished in Midnight Blue Metallic over a Stone-Grey leather interior. This first-generation 997 was originally sold from the iconic Brumos Porsche dealership in Florida with premium options including the Bose High-End Sound Package, heated front seats, and Bi-Xenon headlamp package.  It was purchased by its current owner about 2 years ago at 56k miles benefitting from the recent installation of a direct oil feed IMS bearing upgrade.  It has since been treated to some noteworthy upkeep including a recent 60k mile service at an authorized Porsche dealership.  It is now being offered by its seller in Texas while showing approximately 63k miles on the odometer.

The Midnight Blue Metallic finish is said to be beautifully presented, having been regularly detailed under the current ownership (images are provided in the photo gallery). This Carrera is equipped with Bi-Xenon headlights and factory 5-spoke wheels that were dressed in new tires at the time of seller purchase 2 years ago.

Inside, you will find a Stone-Grey leather interior said to be in fantastic shape with only typical signs of wear on some of the buttons. Represented by an $80k factory specification sheet, this Carrera features the Bose High-End Sound Package, Power Seat Package, a 6-disc remote CD changer, heated seats, the Park Assist System, and brand-new OEM floor mats installed by the current owner.  An OEM Porsche sunshade will also accompany the sale along with an OEM car cover.  The cabin is described to be entirely stock and the seller confirms all gauges and accessories to be fully functional.

For the inaugural year of the 997, this Carrera was equipped with a naturally aspirated 3.6 L flat-six engine producing 325 HP and 272 lb.-ft of torque.  The rear wheels are driven by way of a 5-speed Tiptronic S automatic allowing for a 0-60 time of approximately 5.3 seconds.  Proper maintenance is said to have been observed throughout the lifetime of the vehicle including a critical direct oil feed (DFI) upgrade for the IMS bearing at the time of the seller’s purchase.  A comprehensive 60k mile service was carried out recently in 2020 by Porsche Dallas, and the seller reports this 997 to be in excellent mechanical order.

This sale will be accompanied by a set of 2 keys, original books, tools, an OEM car cover, OEM sunshade, a clean title (lien), and all records from the current owner (as well as some from the previous owners).

    @LongPlay No kidding! The darn work order even states, "Client left key in trunk." Haha, all we can do is laugh :)

    @All Buyers and Porsche Friends,

    Thank you all for your interest in PCARMARKET's auction of my 911 997. This has been a fantastic vehicle for me, and while sad to see it go, I am happy for the future owner as I have primed this one for a beautiful next chapter. Purchased for $35k through an AutoNation Broker in late 2019, this vehicle comes with all the bells and whistles equipping it for a lifetime worth of driving. I have put over 5k into this car over the course of the last two years, and the care has been driven at least once a week during the time of ownership. Due to COVID and changing financial circumstances, I am selling this vehicle.

    @TreyTaylor341 Much appreciate the detailed response. Nothing like that sick feeling when you realize the key is on the wrong side of the door or trunk lid, eh?

  • TreyTaylor341 (seller) 3 years, 3 monthsago

    @LongPlay The four things completed at the Porsche Dealership was 1. IMS preventative leakage issue was done by replacing the rear main sealant. 2. The car has an auto-locking system that seizes the key in the ignition if the battery dies. 3. I had a new key made as the grey brittle key cracked. This car comes with this beautiful new black key. that will last. OEM from the dealer (none of the eBay knock-off PO) 5. The Key was locked in the trunk and the latch was not working correctly so had to get that fixed.

    @Arbitrageur Thank you for your interest in my 997. I have provided each request in full detail to PCARMARKET including fronk photos, bumper close up, hood close up, undercarriage shot (I can confirm there is no rust or corrosion-- this vehicle was always garaged and if left outside we used the outdoor cover shown in the photos), and tire photos-- there is plenty of tread both on the front and back tires as the car was 1. never tracked 2. rarely driven on the highway and 3. hardly ever driven for long drives (longest being to the airport and back) as it was taken to my office just a couple miles away and mostly around the neighborhood. Happy to answer any more questions if you have them but hope this provides a clear picture of this vehicle that was well loved and cared for.

    @Porsche8 I have provided PCARMART all of those documents. See attached for the folder/filing system that I put in place (JWT is me).

    @LongPlay Me being an idiot and locking my key in the trunk and the trunk latch wouldn't release.

    Hi Seller. Do you have any pictures to share of the inside of the front trunk ('frunk'), close ups of the front bumper and front hood paint for rock chips, undercarriage showing rust or corrosion since the car was in VA, and date codes/wear on the tires? The listing says the tires were new 2 years ago, but I never made it more than about 2 years before they were worn out on my 911 (the rears in particular).
