Now available for auction is this 2005 Porsche 996 Turbo S Cabriolet finished in Black over a Savanna Beige full leather interior. Produced for the 2005 model year only, the 996 Turbo S is one of the rarest water-cooled Porsches of all time with less than 1,000 Cabriolets produced worldwide and even fewer equipped with a 6-speed manual transmission. These cars came standard with Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB), the exclusive X50 Power Kit, and were the last Turbo S models to be available with a manual gearbox. This example was sold new in Florida at an original sticker price of over $151k with options including 18” GT3 wheels, Porsche crested headrests, the Light Wood Package, Sport Shifter, extended leather trim, and Custom Tailoring (special wishes requiring further communication). Acquired by its second and current owner in 2017, this rare 996 Turbo S Cabriolet is now being offered for auction out of New York with just under 5k miles showing on the odometer.
This Turbo S comes finished in Black with a matching cabriolet soft top. The car has been kept indoors throughout its life and is described to have been maintained in very good condition overall with a layer of clear paint protection film applied over the front end. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with paint meter readings and a clean CARFAX report. Speed Yellow painted PCCB calipers come standard, and this example was optioned with stainless steel exhaust pipes along with 18” GT3 wheels that are currently dressed in a set of Michelin Pilot Sport tires.
Inside, you will find a luxurious Savanna Beige full leather interior with optional supple leather seats and exclusive extended leather trim covering the rear center console, seat adjustment knobs, sun visors, and air vents. The Light Wood Package adds veneered inlays to the dashboard trim strip, instrument surround, and PCM surround. Other options include a Sport Shifter knob and brake handle trimmed in wood and aluminum, a three-spoke leather steering wheel with wood trim, Porsche crested headrests, and a storage compartment lid embossed with the Turbo logo. Occupants are also supplied with adjustable lumbar support, automatic climate control, Bose audio, and Porsche Communication Management (PCM) with navigation. The Turbo S comes standard with aluminum-faced instrument dials and stainless steel door sill logos. The cabriolet top mechanism was repaired by Porsche Gold Coast in April of 2020.
The 996 Turbo S comes standard with the X50 Power Kit, adding upgraded K24 turbochargers, larger intercoolers, remapped ECU tuning, and a revised quad-tip exhaust. The 3.6L twin-turbocharged Mezger engine is capable of producing up to 444 HP, an increase of 25 HP over the standard 996 Turbo. All four wheels are driven through a 6-speed manual gearbox allowing for a 0-60 time of approximately 4 seconds. Stopping power is handled by Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB). The car was serviced primarily at Brumos Porsche of Jacksonville during the original ownership and has received regular oil changes and maintenance from Porsche Gold Coast under the care of the current owner. Service records are provided for reference in the gallery along with images of the underside.
This sale will include a set of keys, owner's manuals, a toolkit, spare tire, jack, service records, and a clean title. The ultimate flagship model of the 996 generation, this rare low-mileage 6-Speed Turbo S Cabriolet would make a fine addition to any Porsche collection and prove to be a worthwhile investment in coming years.
