Up for auction is this striking Black on Black 2005 911 Turbo S. Having an original MSRP of over $134k, it is clear that this Turbo S sports the perfect blend of both rarity and value. Accordingly, only 186 Turbo S coupes were produced, making it one of the most sought after Porsches out of the 996 series. As with all Turbo S models, this car is equipped with the desirable X50 option, which translates to 444HP 457lb-ft Torque and is paired to a 6-speed manual transaxle. The Turbo S also included Carbon Ceramic Brakes (PCCB) and aluminum-faced instruments.

With less than 20K miles showing on the odometer, this Turbo is in well above average condition for its age. The all-original black paint is said to have no flaws aside from a few hairline scratches. All body panels are original and there is no sign of any tampering or replacement.

As seen in the photo gallery, the full black leather interior is free from any wear or fading. All electronics are fully functional and perform as they should. A few noteworthy factory options include: 6-Disc CD changer, heated seats, Lumbar support, and a thicker steering wheel.

The 3.6L flax six engine is said to be in excellent running condition. This Turbo is fully up to date on service, which includes a major 30K mile service in 2017 at a cost of $7,408. The car has traveled less than 2,000 miles since.

The 996 Turbo S is the last Porsche model to acquire the famous Mezger engine, designed by world renowned engine builder, Hans Mezger. These water-cooled 911s are finding their way into high end collections, as the modern era of new Porsche buyers are starting to take note of the remarkable performance and unprecedented collectability.

The sale will include a clean Carfax, all books, 2 Keys, tools, spare tire and service records.

I am in LOVE. This is a stunningly beautiful example of the last of the 996 Turbo models. The 996 Turbo line (especially the X50's and S models) is steadily coming up in price as their tremendous bang for the buck value is finally being understood. As the owner of a '02 996 Turbo X50, I know first hand that these are truly SUPERCARS! Every time I mash the accelerator, I am blown away by the blur that comes on quickly. I'll be watching this gem closely.

@Gothamag This car likely has a reserve upwards of $70k. Not exactly a great value. The 03/04's with X50 are a better value. You don't get the PCCB, but that's a good thing.

Both this and the Guards Red 996 4S that they have up are real nice cars. ??????

Manual ❤️?. These are still pretty good values. Thant can’t last much longer though. This one seems like a nice one. Should make someone pretty happy

And, @pcarmarket copy editor - It is a Mezger engine, designed by Hans Mezger. Not Metzger...

  • MKR 5 yearsago

@weekNDmnded Agreed. Generally, the people that were in the position to pay $150k (after taxes and fees) for a new car in 2005, were/are the people that upgrade every 18-24 months. Then, the 2nd owner does the same thing, except with the first owner's cast-offs. By the time you get to the 3rd owner, you start seeing someone more reasonable. A car like this trading hands every 3-4 years since the 3rd owner is fairly common.

@James00054 Not sure if you're being serious or trying to be cheeky. Mezger engines don't have an IMS.

  • James00054 5 yearsago

Does this car have the IMS retrofit?

  • weekNDmnded (registered bidder) 5 yearsago

@Turbolover not to step on the sellers toes here but start looking and you will see this is super common. People flip these cars, sell for health/financial reasons, all sorts of tbjngs. To me, a clean low mile Porsche it’s not out of the ordinary to see multiple owners on a CARFAX
