Now up for auction is this 2005 Porsche 997 Carrera Cabriolet presented in Arctic Silver Metallic over a black full leather interior.  This example features aftermarket 20” Champion forged wheels and desirable factory options including the Sport Chrono Package Plus, Bose High-End Sound Package, and a 6-speed manual transmission.  Originally delivered in California before being purchased by its current owner in Pennsylvania, this 997 has undergone all recent service through an authorized Porsche dealership and is said to be in excellent driving order.  It is now being offered with approximately 56k miles shown on the odometer, accompanied by original books, a clean title, and Carfax report.

The Arctic Silver Metallic finish is reported to be in very nice condition with only a few minor touch ups on the front end and a very small impression on the left side of the rear bumper (detailed images are provided in the photo gallery).  Bi-Xenon headlights are factory optioned and aftermarket 20” Champion forged wheels have been equipped.

The premium black full leather interior is said to have been kept in great shape.  Some slight wear is visible on the seat cushions and a scratch is noted on the PCM display which has been covered by a custom-fit screen overlay.  A Bluetooth mobile receiver has been integrated and the seller confirms all gauges and accessories to be fully functional.  Sold at an original sticker price of over $90k, this Cabriolet is appointed with the following options:

  • 342      Heated Front Seats
  • 435      3-Spoke Sport Steering Wheel
  • 640      Sport Chrono Package Plus
  • 666      Module for Telephone PCM
  • 680      Bose High End Sound Package
  • AT        Black Full Leather
  • P15      Power Seat Package
  • P74      Bi-Xenon Headlamp Package

A naturally aspirated 3.6 L flat-six engine sends 325 HP and 273 lb.-ft of torque to the rear wheels through a desirable 6-speed manual transmission.  0-60 is achieved in approximately 4.5 seconds and the optional Sport Chrono Package Plus adds Sport and Sport Plus performance settings as well as a launch control feature.  Earlier in 2020, this 997 underwent a full service at Sewickley Porsche which included new clutch/shifter cable assemblies, coil packs, spark plugs, battery cables, and an alternator.  The IMS bearing has not been addressed but was found to be in good shape during a recent inspection along with the rear main seal and clutch.  Service records are included from the current ownership and this 997 is said to be in fantastic driving condition, just waiting to be enjoyed.

This sale will include 1 master key, owner’s manuals, service records, and a clean title (lien).  Do not miss your chance to get behind the wheel of a nicely presented 6-speed 997.

@bigs964rs The carpets are not faded or worn. That includes under the floor mats. There are some marks on the center console and and drivers door handle on the inside from normal use. Also some marks on the left rear side panel behind the drivers seat but none on the drivers seat. The car also has memory seats for 2 drivers and a home link for garage doors,

@alanlfellars please comment on the condition and color of the carpets. The pictures make it look faded on the doors and between the rear seats. Tks

I just had a new windshield installed yesterday at Sewickley Porsche by their glass guy. The old one had one small chip. New windshield has the rain sensing feature that automatically adjusts the intermittent speed depending on the amount of rain hitting the windshield. Only thing the car has wrong are a few minor cosmetic areas that could be easily fixed. One main thing are the (2) rocker switches for the temperature and fan speed have the common issue of wear on the finish. They work as they should but could be replaced for appearance only.

@CurtGT3RS The IMS bearing, rear seal and clutch are all good.

  • alanlfellers (seller) 3 years, 4 monthsago

@CurtGT3RS It did not need the IMS bearing replaced. It was just checked in August. Sewickley Porsche is one of the top 15 Porsche service centers in the US and I trust what they recommended.

Nice car - curious, you had all that service work done, why didn’t you do the ims at the same time?

Thanks for viewing my 997. It's a great car and I am only selling to get something else. It was very well maintained and needs nothing other than someone else to enjoy it as much as I have. Please feel free to ask any questions.
