Introduced in 2005, the second-generation Porsche Boxster (987) featured all-new styling, a new interior, and a more powerful series of flat-six engines. This launch year 987 Boxster S comes finished in Guards Red over a Black interior and is optioned with a 6-speed manual transmission, 19” Carrera S wheels, the Sport Chrono Package, Bose Sound System, Guards Red seatbelts, and a painted rear center console. It was acquired by the seller from its original owner out of California in 2013 at just over 13k miles and is now being offered for auction in Arizona with approximately 37k miles showing on the odometer.
This 987 is finished in Guards Red with a black convertible top and is distinguishable as an “S” model from the standard Boxster by red-painted brake calipers and dual exhaust tailpipes. It features optional roll bars painted in the exterior color and the Bi-Xenon Headlamp Package as well as 19” Carrera S wheels with colored Porsche crest center caps. The seller indicates the convertible top was replaced in 2020 and two new tires were recently installed. The CARFAX report shows moderate damage sustained to the right side after a collision in 2014. The Black interior features optional heated seats, the Bose System, Guards Red seatbelts, and a rear center console painted in Guards Red. The optional Sport Chrono Package is also equipped which adds a stopwatch lap timer to the center dashboard. Standard features include a power top with a heated glass rear window, front seats with power backrests, a remote central locking system, automatic climate control, cruise control, and power heated side mirrors. The seller notes an upgraded stereo and navigation system have been installed and describes the cabin to be in excellent overall condition.
A naturally aspirated 3.2-liter flat-six engine delivers up to 280 HP and 236 lb.-ft of torque to the rear wheels by way of a 6-speed manual transmission. Standard performance features include Traction Control (ASR), an Active Brake Differential (ABD), and fixed 4-piston monobloc brakes with cross-drilled rotors and ABS. The seller states that routine service has been observed and the CARFAX report shows a preemptive 60k-mile service completed by Circle Audi in 2013 as well as an oil service by Eurosport LLC in 2022.
This sale will include the original window sticker, owner’s manuals, toolkit, spare tire, air pump, and a clean title.

I purchased her from the original owner who lived in Newport Beach with about 13k miles on it and took impeccable care of her. She has low mileage at 36k, all maintenance is up to date and a new top was installed in April 2020. The car is almost completely stock with 2 brand-new tires installed last month. It is time for her to fly and someone else to enjoy her as much as I have.”

@drjoe356 @drjoe356. I am planning on purchasing a new tire. I had numerous people tell me 2017. When I purchased the car in September of 2013 I drove straight to a Discount Tire and bought four new tires as I was going to be driving the car back to Arizona. And I have bought a set of tires since then. So it appears as though someone did not replace one of the tires that I purchased sadly.

@Klassykimberly-Some additional questions- In the opening statement, you told everyone about the collision on the right side and stated that there would be Images and the CARFAX and gallery images- I don't see the accident images - can you direct me where they are- second what all four date code on the tires are- I live in the Mid-West and would drive it home on Rt 66- last Q How old is the battery- also the repair bill on the collision if you have them-Thanks again Rob

Hi, @Klassykimberly- Thanks for that update- I believe that was the start of the IMS issues uphill battle - I think in 2008, they had it totally under control, as I remember- You have a great-looking Boxster S, and I love the red-black OEM paint.
I am not out of the bidding yet-we still have three days to talk . Did your mechanic cut open your oil filter a few times in the ten years you had them serving your Boxster S?

@R-car4Me just wanted to let you know. The engine number of my car is 62505616, which was AFTER they changed the problematic bearing. The engine number of 61504715 and BEFORE had issues with that bearing...just an FYI 😊

Ok...thanks to a gentleman that came over and found the engine number of the car...and I am happy to report that it was manufactured in the 4th month and was built AFTER they changed the IMS bearing... 61504715 and earlier was the engine number that had the problematic IMS bearing...however, the engine number of my car is 62505616...some good info if you were concerned about the IMS bearing. Hi- I'm just sure I would agree with your mechanic at Eursosport- the engine has an IMS issue- your car is worth almost nothing- he is not footing the new or used engine- 2000 to 2005 were the worst years of the problem- I sure hope I'm wrong on this one

@R-car4Me no... the mechanic at Eurosport that takes care of the car States that if this issue was going to be a problem it would already have been problems and that it was not necessary for me to replace

@needanothercar @needanothercar...the damage was on the passenger side...I was on freeway off ramp during traffic time...the guy behind me wasn't paying attention and slammed on brakes and spun out and ended up hitting the right passenger side instead of the rear. The damage was all cosmetic. Rear tires were replaced
Beautiful car!! Can you comment on how bad the damage to the right side from the accident. Was sheet metal replaced? Finally, what two tires were replaced? Were they front or rear?
