Designed by Ian Callum and Henrik Fisker, the DB9 is a powerful and luxurious grand tourer equipped with a 6.0L V12 engine and limited-slip differential. The DB9 model was produced from 2004 to 2016 and was even adapted for racing in the FIA GT1 and GT3 series. This 2006 example comes finished in Merlot Red over Sandstorm leather upholstery with Iron Ore Red accents and is equipped with Mahogany wood interior trim accents, a navigation system, Bluetooth connectivity, a Linn sound system, heated electrically-operated front seats, and more. Showing approximately 41k miles on the odometer, this DB9 Volante is now being offered for auction by its seller out of California.

The lightweight aluminum bodywork showcases traditional Aston Martin styling cues including a polished front Tungsten grille, hood vents, side strakes, swan wing doors, and dual exhaust outlets. This example comes finished in Merlot Red (AST1342) and rides on factory 19” 10-spoke wheels dressed in Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires mounted in November 2021. The seller states a new black power-convertible soft top was installed and the rear deck was repainted under prior ownership in 2019 following an incident where the automatic roll hoops deployed while driving over an off-camber rise and dip in the road. Touch-up paint has been applied to the exterior, and paint protection film covers the front end, rockers, and rear lower quarter panels. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.

Inside, the cabin is handsomely appointed with Sandstorm leather complemented by Iron Ore Red leather upper dashboard trim and Mahogany wood veneers. Other details encompass Platinum trim finishes, Warm Charcoal seatbelts, Iron Ore Red stitching, and a rear parcel shelf housing rear seats. Amenities include heated power front seats, automatic climate control, cruise control, a Linn sound system, Bluetooth phone connectivity, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel with paddle shifts. The seller mentions that the retractable navigation screen does not sit flush with the dashboard panel when stowed. Additionally, aftermarket door sill plate logos were installed by a previous owner, and the carpeting has been renewed.

The 6.0 L AM11 V12 engine can send up to 457 HP and 420 lb.-ft of torque to the rear wheels through a ZF 6-speed Touchtronic automatic gearbox with a lightweight carbon fiber driveshaft, limited-slip differential, and paddle shifters.  0-60 MPH is achieved in as little as 4.9 seconds while reaching a top speed governed at 165 MPH. In March 2023, the brake pads and rotors were replaced with OE Aston Martin parts and the transmission underwent servicing, including fitting a replacement pan and filter assembly, conducting a fluid flush, and updating to the latest software level through reflashing. Additionally, the serpentine belt and idler pulleys were replaced in May 2024, as shown on an invoice within the gallery. The seller also mentions replacing the TPMS sensors at the time the tires were replaced in 2021, and performing an oil change in preparation for the sale.

This sale will include a clean title, owner’s manuals, workshop manuals, a trunk-mounted umbrella, a Foxwell diagnostic scanner with Aston Martin-specific software, a tire inflation kit, and a battery charger.

Attentive seller and a wonderful looking car.

Hope high bidder or a “deal tank” transaction can happen. GLWTS

The Top Down Driving Video is now posted above. The microphone exaggerates the wind buffeting noise and it's barely noticeable in the cabin. Also the camera frame rate doesn't sync with the digital gauges so they appear to be flickering, whereas in reality they are functioning properly.

As we enter the final 30 minutes scheduled for this auction, please remember that there is no advantage in waiting until the final seconds to bid, as the timer resets to 2:00 minutes after each bid when the clock is under two minutes. Be sure to refresh your browser periodically to ensure that your view of the timer is not out-of-sync with the live auction. Good Luck to all Bidders!

With under 3 hours to go, please be sure to ask about any remaining questions or concerns that you may have. You may use the “contact seller” button (above) to ask privately, or simply post your questions or comments here.

I’m in the process of uploading a spirited driving video which should be viewable shortly. Although the camera focuses a bit too much on the gauges rather than the road, it should give you a sense of the car’s handling and performance. I was taking the corners at about double the posted speeds.

Good morning and welcome to the final day of this auction. Thanks to @sabatinismartini and @the_underhill_acct for your bids! Just a timely reminder to all that this is a reserve auction, and we still have a little ways to go before the reserve is met. Good luck to all bidders!

I’ve uploaded a few photos from yesterday’s car show. Parked next to my friend’s 2024 Z06, our cars attracted about an equal number of admirers and lots of discussion.

@ninerfan excellent and thank you. Our girls are slightly smaller.

I’ve uploaded a photo showing two young teens/tweens with the front seat full forward and one person in the back seat.

Yes, I know about the screen. I am a former DB9 Volante owner. Thanks

  • ninerfan (seller) 4 months, 1 weekago

@86cab it’s a magnetic phone holder. Take a look at photos 130 and 131 to see it in use. The standard NAV screen is very outdated so a smartphone does the job much better.

  • 86cab (registered bidder) 4 months, 1 weekago

What is the object attached to the flip up navigation screen?

  • ninerfan (seller) 4 months, 1 weekago

In general the legroom in the back is challenged. However with a typical early teen in the front passenger seat, there is room for another early teen behind. I’ll post some photos tomorrow.

  • The_underhill_acct (registered bidder) 4 months, 1 weekago

    Serious question.
Is it easy/possible to turn off the passenger airbag for when smaller people ride in the front.

Additionally is it possible to get a photo of how much legroom is available (front and back) if the passenger seat is in the most forward position.

Is it reasonable that two early-teenage children could ride front/back.
    Thanks.

Just a reminder that I’ll be showing this car tomorrow in downtown Paso Robles California from about 9 to 2. If you’re within a few hours drive, this is your opportunity to view the car in a relaxed and fun setting! The car show is free to spectators.

If you don’t live close enough or have conflicting plans for tomorrow, be sure to use the “Contact Seller” button or place a comment here to ask any questions you may have about the car. Good luck to all Bidders!

So strange how few of these actually have any miles on them.

Good morning! For those who may be interested in viewing the car this weekend, I’ll be showing it at the Golden State Classics Car Show in Paso Robles on Saturday from 10 to 2 at the downtown City Park. Paso Robles is about halfway between the San Francisco Bay Area and Greater Los Angeles, and very doable for a day trip if you don’t get stuck in too much Memorial Day Holiday traffic. There are also numerous Hotels, Wineries. Restaurants, and Breweries if you want to make a weekend of it. I’ll upload a few photos from a prior show to give you a sense of the event. I hope to see you there!

I’ll be monitoring the auction regularly and will strive to be timely and transparent in responding to questions. Any bidder who wishes to see the car in person may use the “contact seller” button to arrange a viewing. Good Luck to those bidding, and I welcome questions from any interested viewers.
