We are pleased to present this 2006 Fisker Tramonto finished in Shadow Grey Metallic over a tan leather interior. The Fisker Tramonto is a highly-exclusive coachbuilt sports car based on the Mercedes-Benz R230 SL chassis and created by Fisker Coachbuild, a design firm run by Henrik Fisker from 2005-2007. One of the most prominent automotive designers of the modern era, Henrik Fisker's best known works include the Aston Martin DB9 and V8 Vantage, BMW Z8, and the Fisker Karma plug-in electric sports sedan. Production of the Tramonto was originally set for 150 units worldwide, although only 15 cars were ever produced. The Tramonto features handcrafted aluminum and carbon fiber bodywork over a hand-stitched Italian leather interior. Designated as chassis #002, this particular Tramonto was owned by Henrik Fisker himself and is reportedly one of only two examples to have been equipped with a modified twin-turbocharged V12 powertrain from the SL 600, offering an impressive output of up to 700 HP and 1,000 lb.-ft of torque. Showing just over 5,800 miles on the odometer, this incredibly rare Fisker Tramonto is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Maryland.

The handcrafted bodywork of this Tramonto is finished in Shadow Grey Metallic (SD) with a power-retractable folding hardtop. The hood, bumpers, front fenders, door sills, decklid, and rear diffuser are all constructed from carbon fiber while lightweight aluminum doors and steel rear fender flares help promote strength and torsional rigidity. Compared with the Mercedes SL, the Tramonto weighs about 100 lbs. less and features a longer hood and shorter tail, redesigned headlights and taillights, and a unique front grille inspired by the F-22 fighter jet. Other exterior details include aerodynamic mirrors with integrated turn signals, chrome fender vents, “V12 BITURBO” badging, and dual exhaust tips integrated into the rear bumper. The seller reports the lower front fascia to have been refinished for cosmetic purposes and notes slight curb rash on the wheels. Detailed photos are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report. The 20” three-piece Fisker FT-5 wheels were designed specifically for the Tramonto and are currently dressed in Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires dated from 2018 in front and 2020 in the rear.

The cabin is upholstered in hand-stitched tan Italian leather including the door panels, dashboard, and center console. The 12-way power-adjustable front seats include heating, cooling, and massage functionality as well as adjustable bolsters. Fisker-specific details include exposed carbon door sills with Fisker Coachbuild treadplates, Fisker-branded instrumentation, an aluminum milled center console with engraved chassis number, and a two-tone multifunction steering wheel with an embossed Fisker logo in the center. Driver’s amenities include Mercedes’ COMAND navigation, an 8-speaker Bose audio system, and dual-zone automatic climate control. The passenger side sun visor was personally autographed by Henrik Fisker when the vehicle was sold at Monterey in 2013. Photos of Henrik Fisker signing the vehicle as well as a copy of the previous title in Fisker’s name are said to accompany the sale.

Chassis #002 is powered by a 5.5L twin-turbocharged V12 Mercedes Benz M275 engine, which has been specially tuned for a claimed output up to 700 HP and 1000 lb-ft of torque. The rear wheels are driven by a 5-speed automatic transmission and a limited-slip differential, allowing the Tramonto to reach 60 MPH from a standstill in as little as 3.4 seconds with a top speed over 200 MPH. The chassis retains Mercedes’ Active Body Control suspension as well as the SL 600's braking system with cross-drilled rotors and 6-piston calipers in front. This Tramonto is said to have recently received new rear tires, a new battery, and a new steering rack.

The car is accompanied by a clean title and the sale is said to include a copy of the previous title in Henrik Fisker’s name, manufacturer’s literature, a commemorative watch designed by Rosendahl of Copenhagen, and photos of Fisker signing the car. This Fisker Tramonto is a modern coachbuilt roadster styled and owned by one the most influential automotive designers of our time, do not let this incredibly special opportunity pass you by.

    @ak2013

    I just found this article in my notes and confirmed that it's still available online. Again, it only references the V8, but does confirm the availability of performance engines for the Tramonto.

    @ak2013

    I have this published excerpt that describes the car and the V12 (but I haven't yet found any reference as to its source):

    "FISKER COACHBUILD has teamed with KLEEMAN, the world's leader in Kompressor (supercharger) technology for Mercedes-Benz, to create the FISKER/KLEEMANN 700-hp supercharged v12 with a 0-60 mph in just 3.2 seconds. The performance starts with custom-made ECU program, redesigned pulley wheel and Super Sport Camshafts, to maximize engine output. Enlarged stainless steel tubular exhaust headers, down pipes and 70 mm dual exhaust system with four steel cats allow for freer breathing...a system which is further enhanced with KLEEMAN 120-cell metal catalysts for maximum performance gain."

    "All of these modifications result in rewards that range from the concrete to the visceral. The supercharged engine produces over 1000 lb-ft of torque and 700 hp, delivering a 0-60 time of 3.2 seconds and smooth power throughout the entire operating range. And while it cannot be quantified, the music of the FISKER/KLEEMANN engine produces some strong feelings of its own."

    @ak2013

    Thanks for the inquiry. I'm still going through my accumulation of notes for references to the high-output V12, but I did find this mention at supercars.net about the Tramonto's optional V8 just prior to the car's introduction ack in 2006:

    "For those who crave performance, a package is available thanks to a partnership between Fisker and Kleemann. This gives the Tramonto a 610-hp supercharged 5.5- liter V8 which helps the car do 0-60 mph in just 3.6 seconds. Details include a custom-made ECU, Super Sport Camshafts, stainless steel exhaust headers, down pipes and 70 mm dual exhaust system with four steel cats allow for freer breathing." You can read the entire article at www.https://www.supercars.net/blog/2006-fisker-tramonto/ I will post V12 info the moment I locate it. Thanks in advance for your patience.

    Hello, everyone. This is a very rare and interesting car. Ordering one in 2006 required that the buyer first buy a new Mercedes SL (R230) with the factory options of their choice, then ship it to Fisker Coachbuild in California to be dismantled and rebuilt as a Tramonto. This vehicle was Fisker's own,. The combined costs of both the R230 and the Fisker mods on this one are estimated to have been $318K.

    Please read one of the Tramonto's first reviews in Motor Trend:

    Enjoy the ride!
