Available for auction is this 2006 Maserati GranSport Spyder finished in Nero Carbino over a tan leather interior.  Introduced at the 2004 Geneva Motor Show, the GranSport was an evolution of the original Maserati Coupe designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro and featured a sportier interior, improved aerodynamics, and a retuned engine, gearbox, and suspension.  The open-top Spyder version was unveiled the following year, of which only 472 examples are reported to have been sold worldwide.  Sporting a rare color combination, this 2006 example carries a Ferrari-derived F136 R V8 paired with an F1-style 6-speed Cambiocorsa automated manual gearbox.  With a newly replaced clutch and recent full service, the GranSport Spyder is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Florida with just under 31k miles showing on the odometer.

This Maserati comes finished in Nero Carbino with a black power-retractable soft top and features a chrome grille with Maserati trident badge, bi-xenon headlights, and quad exhaust outlets.  The original Giugiaro design for the Maserati Coupe was used as a basis for the GranSport which was redesigned by Frank Stephenson, Director of Ferrari-Maserati Concept Design and Development.  The seller notes the finish to remain nicely presented and that the car appears to have been garage-kept throughout its life, additional images are provided in the gallery. The CARFAX report indicates rear-end damage to have occurred in 2008, although there is no further information available. This GranSport rides on factory 19” Trofeo alloy wheels with Michelin tires.

Inside, you will find a beautifully crafted interior upholstered in tan leather with contrasting black piping and carpets.  The center console is trimmed in carbon fiber along with the steering wheel, which features perforated leather grips and aluminum paddle shifters.  The highly contoured sport seats are heated, power-adjustable, and feature embossed trident logos in the headrests. Other details include a Maserati-branded wind deflector, automatic climate control, drilled aluminum pedals, a central analog clock, and traditional blue-faced instrument dials.  The seller reports all gauges and accessories to be fully functional.

Power comes from a Ferrari-derived 4.2L F136-R V8 engine which produces up to 395 HP. The rear wheels are driven through an F1-style 6-speed Cambiocorsa automated manual gearbox. Compared with the original Maserati Coupe, the GranSport received an upgraded exhaust and intake system as well as a retuned Cambiocorsa paddle-shift transmission and Skyhook active suspension with a 10mm lower ride height.  Under the seller’s care, a full service is said to have been carried out including an oil and filter change, brake fluid flush, rear differential service, coolant flush, and gearbox fluid flush.  The clutch is also said to have been recently replaced and the seller reports 0.34% clutch wear.

This sale will include the original owner's manuals and a clean title.  A beautiful representation of fine Italian craftsmanship and design, this rare Maserati GranSport Spyder is not to be overlooked.

Very good deal for the buyer, don't know the buyer's fee and shipping fee and of course there are always the registration taxes. I already have a 2003 4200 Coupe GT or else I would have bid. It is an excellent car and this one seems to be in very good condition. Suggest you join the Maserati forums in North America and the UK, it will be very helpful. If you like to tinker with your cars the Maserati is easy to work on and the guys on the forum have pretty much seen and done it all, especially on the UK forum. There are some excellent guys in the US too. Congratulations and hope you will enjoy the car

Can you verify the function of the top? I know this can be a problem spot and fairly expensive and complicated to repair. Thank you and good luck with the auction!

Doug Damuro of Car /Bids once said that this vintage Maserati is a "Hidden Gem"....I concur. I own a coupe along with other Ferraris, Lambos, Porsches in my collection and can honestly say that there is no place but up for these to go! A fantastic auto that reeks of six figure bells/whistles but at considerable less. Check out some you tube exhaust sounds for starters! The six speed is just another maligned feature that is not understood by those that complain. Beautifully designed and superbly engineered .....well ahead of its time!

@Jimlerbs Thank you! And thank you for your interests! The traction control button below the radio needs some attention, and the row of center console buttons need to be cleaned also. Everything else is in very good shape. Please let us know if you have any additional questions.

    Thank you.

    Beautiful vehicle.

Can you tell us the condition of the black buttons and trim? These vehicles, especially in the heat of Florida, tend to lose their finish and become “sticky”.

    Thank you,
