Produced from 2003 to 2012 as the last rotary engine Mazda sports car, the RX-8 is a unique front mid-engine rear-wheel-drive coupe featuring seating for four, “freestyle” suicide rear doors, a sport-tuned suspension, and a limited-slip differential. This 2006 example comes finished in Velocity Red over a black interior and is equipped with a 6-speed manual transmission as well as the Grand Touring Package, Appearance Package, a rear wing spoiler, and 18” aluminum wheels. Supported by recent service and a clean one-owner CARFAX report, this Mazda RX-8 is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Pennsylvania while showing just over 11,500 miles on the odometer.

This RX-8 comes finished in Velocity Red with an optional rear wing spoiler and the Appearance Package which adds side and rear aero flares as well as polished rotary accents on the front and rear. It rides on 18” 5-spoke aluminum alloy wheels dressed in 245/45 Toyo tires (2014). Other features include an aluminum hood, front fender vents, “freestyle” suicide rear doors, and dual chrome tailpipes. The optional Grand Touring Package also adds xenon headlights and front fog lamps. The black interior features heated leather seats with 8-way power adjustability and lumbar support for the driver’s side as part of the optional Grand Touring trim package along with heated side mirrors, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, a power moonroof, a 300-watt Bose audio system, and a keyless entry & start system. Other amenities include power windows, air conditioning, cruise control, a digital clock, an outside temperature display, aluminum pedals and footrest, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob.

This RX-8 is equipped with a naturally aspirated 1.3-liter RENESIS twin-rotor Wankel engine producing up to 232 HP with a redline of 9,000 rpm. The rear wheels are driven by way of a 6-speed manual transmission with a short-throw shifter and a torque-sensing limited-slip differential. The chassis also includes a fully independent sport-tuned suspension with double front wishbones, a strut tower brace, and front & rear stabilizer bars. Stopping power comes from four-wheel ventilated discs with an anti-lock brake system (ABS) and electronic brakeforce distribution (ABD). The CARFAX report shows spark plugs replaced in 2021 and the seller states a recent service was completed at a cost of over $1,700.
