The W220 generation represented Mercedes' flagship S-Class luxury car from 1998 until 2006. Carrying a robust 5.0-liter V8 engine, this 2005 Mercedes-Benz S500 comes finished in Obsidian Black over matching Nappa leather and features a 4MATIC all-wheel-drive configuration, Bi-Xenon headlights, and the Memory Package. Acquired from its second owner of approximately 14 years, this 2006 example is now being offered for auction by its seller out of New York with less than 77k miles on the odometer.
This S500 comes finished in Obsidian Black (197U) and features Bi-Xenon headlights along with 17” 7-Spoke Design light alloy wheels. Equipment includes a headlight cleaning system, mirror-integrated turn signals, chrome lower window trim, and matching side body molding. The seller notes slight rippling in the passenger-side door which appears to have been the result of a dent removal attempt. Additional images are provided in the gallery along with a CARFAX report showing minor damage to the left rear side of the vehicle in June 2020.
Occupants are seated in a luxurious Black Nappa leather interior with burl walnut trim. Features include the Memory Package, heated front seats, a CD changer, an electric sunroof, COMAND infotainment with navigation, electric rear window roller blinds, and power-closing doors.
This W220 is equipped with a 5.0-liter V8 engine that sends as much as 302 HP and 339 lb.-ft of torque to all four wheels through a 5-speed automatic transmission and 4MATIC AWD system. Standard performance features include Airmatic suspension and an Adaptive Damping System (ADS). The seller adds that recent service items include the replacement of the front Airmatic struts along with new fluids.
