It now resides in New York and is being offered in great overall condition with 64k miles showing on the odometer.
This 997’s sleek black paint is said to remain in excellent condition with the exception of some imperfections on the front bumper. The car is also said to retain its original paint aside from a respray of the front hood to remedy some paint chips. This 997 rides on its original upgraded factory 19” wheels which bear only a few minor scuffs. All trim and exterior accessories show well and the cabriolet top is confirmed to be clean and in great working order.
Inside, this 997 is appointed with a black leather interior with that features heated leather sport seats. @dietzmas77 everyone keeps making a big deal of the IMS, this is the newer engine and failure ate is almost non-existent. If someone is that worried do an oil feed kit for under $2k and enjoy the car, the fact that the car has some mileage on it proves its roadworthiness
@dietzmas77 I clearly stated that he had the IMS done to his previous 911 and that it WAS NOT done to this car.
If the previous owner told you that the IMS had been done then he was not telling you the truth - In 2005 Porsche increased the size of the bearing. In order to replace the bearing the engine case would have to been split - The a retro fitting or replacement of the bearing can be done 3.6 & 3.8 liter engines in the 996;s. In 2008 the completely phased out the 96/97 engine. The positive part of the car is the milage. The bearing suffers from sitting in about 1/2 inch of oil. Because many of these cars site contaminate build up in the oil and erode the bearing seal. Once the seal is compromised the oil washes out the grease causing the bearing to fail. The only cure for this is running the car or persistent maintenance to address contaminates that build up in the oil. If the engine fails on this care it will cost in neighborhood of 20 plus to rebuild or replace it. According to the Porsche shop the cars value is about $ 4 to 5 thousand. Word to the wise have a full PPI done to check for leaks and overall running condition of the car. A dynamic running test can be done that can in some instances detect if the bearing is worn.
I just spoke with the former owner. He had an IMS update done to his prior 911 and confirmed that no IMS Bearing update was done to this car under his ownership.

@JLouisS I went over my notes. The former owner clearly told me that the IMS Bearing WAS done but I have no records showing that. I have a call into the former owner and will see what he can provide me. I will post an update as soon as I get one.
Can I assume no clear bra?
Nice car a bit of rim wear and I would fix/repair front road wear if possible.

@DriverM You probably already know this but any 997.1 produced after Jan 1st 2005 has an IMS bearing that requires the case to be split to upgrade it. I'm surprised the previous owner has no documentation. Not saying it wasn't done but it's a big selling point for me.

@fot2group I was told by the former owner that the IMS bearing was done but I do not have any documentation showing that. I will get in touch with him to see if he has any additional paperwork. To be safe for now, please go on the assumption that it has not been done and if in fact it was done, it's a bonus. Thanks..........
@smokeat225 Sure. I have an appointment at 11:30. I should be done at 12:30. Rennwerke is over an hour away from my warehouse. I know Cheech and he gets VERY busy on Fridays.
