The manual 997 is a truly special car.  The design, reliability, and driving characteristics are the reason they have become so in demand.  This 2006 997 Carrera S offered for auction represents a prime example of what is so special about this generation of 911.  The current owner acquired this 997 in New York before transporting it to New Hampshire where it currently resides with just 15k miles on the odometer.

This concourse level car is finished in its original Speed Yellow paint that is fully protected by a ceramic coating.  It is stated to be in excellent, all-original condition with virtually no flaws.  The 19” Carrera wheels are equipped with  colored Porsche crests and wear a set of new Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires.

The black interior is stated to be in like new condition with leather and carpeting that are reminiscent of a brand-new vehicle.  The gallery photos are a testament to how extremely well cared for this interior is.  Nicely spec’d when ordered new, this Carrera S had an original MSRP of over $86k and included: power seat package, Sport Chrono Package, seatbelts in Speed Yellow, Porsche crests in headrests, and more.

Power comes from a 3.8L flat-six engine that produces 355HP and is connected to a desirable 6-speed manual transmission.  The seller reports this car to be in top level condition with absolutely no mechanical flaws.  A clean Carfax report will show regular maintenance throughout its life, including oil changes and filter changes.  Both the look and performance of this C2S are elevated thanks to the desirable Eibach lowering springs.

The 997 is the second generation of the water-cooled 911 and is said by many to be the last of the analog Porsche sports cars.  The S received a larger displacement engine along with larger brakes, red calipers, and a lower ride height, setting it apart from the standard Carrera.

This 2006 C2S Coupe is being sold with a clean Carfax, both sets of keys, books, tools, and service records.

@ppalmer No issues with IMS bearing. The dealer who did the PPI before I bought the car told me that, based on the engine number, the car does not have the potential faulty bearing.

@dandyw961 Hey Dan. I will check around and see if I can get the car on a lift to take a few pics of the chassis for you! More to come. Happy Friday!

  • dandyw961 (registered bidder) 4 years, 9 monthsago

Any chance we can see some pictures of the chassis?

@AutoQuechee I don’t think it is all that unusual. I have had performance cars in the past where I put on 1500 miles a year. Since I live in NH, my cars go into storage in November and have s nice winter nap until April/May. Not a long driving season. I know the previous owner took it out on weekends and to local shows!

Any commentary on the ownership history? Four owners and only 15k miles is unusual.

And I though I was weird by putting only 37k miles on my 2007 over 12 years (~3k / year).
