Up for auction is this 2006 Porsche 997 Carrera S Coupe finished in Basalt Black Metallic. Offering a naturally aspirated 3.8L flat-six engine mated to a 6-speed manual transmission, this 2006 Carrera S was configured at an original sticker price of over $94k with options including the Sport Chrono Package Plus, Power Seat Package, Bose High-End Sound Package, 19” Carrera Classic wheels, and a Cocoa Special Leather interior. Sold new in Arizona, this 997 was acquired from its previous owner out of Washington in 2020 and has since undergone a major service including a new clutch, rear main seal, and IMS bearing inspection. This Carrera S is now being offered for auction by its seller out of California with approximately 72k miles showing on the odometer.
This 997 comes finished in Basalt Black Metallic and rides on a set of 19" Carrera Classic wheels with optional colored center crests. Professional detailing has been carried out in preparation for sale and clear 3M paint protection film is applied over the front end. Additional images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report. The Michelin Pilot Sport tires are dated from 2020 in the front and 2018 in the rear, and the seller reports the passenger-side rear tire to have been previously patched for a leak.
Inside, this Carrera S features a Cocoa Special leather interior giving the cabin a sumptuous look and feel. The driver is also supplied with the Power Seat Package, Bose High-End Sound Package, Porsche Communication Management (PCM) with navigation, a remote 6-disc CD changer, and the optional Sport Chrono Package Plus which adds a stopwatch dial to the center dashboard. The cabin is said to remain nicely preserved while showing minimal wear on the driver's seat bolster, and the seller confirms all features and accessories to be fully functional.
This first-generation 997 Carrera S is equipped with a naturally aspirated 3.8L flat-six engine connected to a 6-speed manual transmission that delivers up to 355 HP and 295 lb.-ft of torque to the rear wheels. The CARFAX report highlights maintenance history dating as far back as 2013 and a major service is said to have been carried out in January of 2021 including coolant and brake fluid flushes, a new clutch, rear main seal, and inspection of the IMS bearing. A vast collection of service records is provided for reference in the gallery.
This sale will include maintenance records and a clean title. If you have been in search of a 997 Coupe, this well-appointed 6-speed Carrera S is not to be overlooked.

I have seen some listings, like this one, without underside photos, but I cannot remember one that did not have a single photo of the engine compartment. Both would be appreciated. Love the color combo!
@useppaisland No, the car is currently in Sonoma, CA. We have a place in Helena, but I've had the car in California the whole time I've owned it. The Pacific Coast Highway is its natural habitat!
I see you have a Montana plate. Our second home is in Bozeman. Is the 911 located near Bozeman?
Nice looking coupe. , seems to have been well maintained. The cocoa brown leather is unique. I have only seen it once in a Porsche Macan, a special custom order.

Cocoa doesn’t do it for me, but the promise of the seller to buy it back if it’s scored it’s great. I’m in it at the right price. Merry Christmas ?.
Bid in the amount of $9,971
@G964 No, I haven’t had it boroscoped. The Feb 2021 service included a visual / audio inspection and the engine did not show any symptoms of scoring. Soot is even between the two sides of the exhaust pipes, and the engine does not make the ticking noise that typifies bore scoring.
If you buy it and find bore scoring, I’ll buy it back from you. I’m that sure it’s healthy.
I would also like to know if you have had the cylinders bore scoped for scoring?
It's hard to tell from the pictures but is the Cocoa more of a dark brown or closer to a black? Because of the lighting it's hard to tell and there are differences between pictures as well.
@JamesSheedy I can post one early next week. I’m traveling right now for the holidays. But you’ll see the car starts with no issues and develops good oil pressure at cold idle.
Sweet 997.1S... love the cocoa interior!
GLWTA!
Gorgeous 997.1. Based on the engine number and photo it has the larger IMSB. Have you had iy inspected (bore scoped) for bore scoring?
Can you provide a driving and cold start video?
Hello! Seller here. This is a fantastic 997S. I’m only selling to finance big service bills on my other Porsches. The Cocoa leather and Basalt Black color combo is quite rare, and elevates the car above the usual silver / grey / black colorways.
