Up for auction is this immaculate 2006 997 Carrera S Cabriolet. After having spent most of its life on the road in Michigan, this Cab is now being offered in near perfect condition out of New York. 997’s are becoming highly desirable among Porsche enthusiasts for their mechanical drive systems and visceral feel. A naturally aspirated flat-six engine, cabriolet top, and extensive build sheet make this car perfect for spirited driving year round.
This Cabriolet is finished in Carrara White. This classic paint is very clean and free of any dents or scratches. There is a layer of paint protection film on the front bumper and quarter panel, however, the seller states there is some yellowing on this film as seen in the gallery. The black convertible top is in excellent condition and operates smoothly. The 19" wheels are wrapped in Bridgestone low-profile tires with plenty of tread left. There is some standard curb rash on these wheels but they otherwise look fantastic.
The black leather interior of this cab is near flawless and features many exclusive factory options. The power-operated front seats are heated and configured with the supple leather package along with the rear seats. The instrument surround and trim strip above the glove box are painted in Carrara White to match the exterior. Commanding an original sticker price of $102,740, this 997 is optioned with Bose High-End Sound Package, full PCM with navigation and telephone module, park assist and more. All featured accessories and electrical systems are in perfect working order including the upgraded Sirius XM module.
Power comes from a 3.8-liter flat-six engine that produces a hearty 355hp and 295 lb-ft of torque. This power is delivered to the rear wheels by way of its desirable 6-speed manual gearbox. It appears that the yellowing film is on the rocker panels under the doors and on the front of the rear wheel arch? Can it be removed safely?
