Now up for auction at no-reserve is this 2006 Porsche Cayenne S finished in Black over a Havanna and Sand Beige embossed leather interior.  This nicely equipped 2006 example features a V8 engine and has undergone some noteworthy maintenance since the current owner’s purchase in 2015 including the replacements of the front and rear lower control arms, brake pads, rotors, vacuum lines, spark plugs, and a reseal of the valve covers.  With approximately 160k miles showing on the odometer, this Cayenne S is now being offered by its seller in Colorado.

The Black paint on this Cayenne is said to be well presented with some minor road-going wear (detailed images are provided in the photo gallery).  Clear paint protection film has been applied over the front bumper and partial front hood, and the seller reports that a new driver’s side headlamp was installed in 2019.  The front bumper and hood have been repainted along with the replacement of the sunroof seal due to hail damage, which is said to have resulted in the damage report on CARFAX in 2019. The rear bumper is also said to have been replaced and painted in 2019. This example features Bi-Xenon headlights and factory optioned 18” Cayenne Turbo wheels that are said to exhibit some slight imperfections.  New Cooper Evolution H/T XL all-season tires are also reported to have been mounted within the last 500 miles and still covered under warranty.

Inside, this Cayenne S has been generously appointed with a Havanna and Sand Beige embossed leather interior featuring the Gloss Light Wood Package and factory custom tailoring (SW5).  Other noteworthy options include heated front seats with driver’s seat position memory, a moonroof, roll-up rear sunscreens, a 6-disc CD changer, a phone module for the PCM 2.1, a compass display, a satellite radio receiver, the Preferred Package Plus, dual-zone climate control, power-folding heated mirrors, and a heated steering wheel.  The passenger mirror has an auto-tilt feature to assist with parking and a switch to operate the AWD system is located in the center console. The cabin is noted to be in good shape, free of any major flaws or imperfections.  The factory CD changer has been disconnected and the seller reports that one of the rear window shades pull tabs has broken.  WeatherTech floor mats are included and all gauges and accessories are said to be fully functional.

This Cayenne S is powered by a 4.5 L V8 engine that generates 350 HP and 310 lb.-ft of torque.  All four wheels are driven through a 6-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission with a locking differential.  The coolant tubes are said to have been replaced by a Porsche dealership shortly before the seller’s purchase in 2015 at approximately 112k miles.  Since then, this Cayenne has also had both front and rear control arms replaced, a 2018 fuel line recall carried out by Porsche, and major recent service in the last 30 days including new brake pads and rotors, new vacuum lines, spark plugs, coolant expansion tank, o-rings, intake manifold gasket, coolant flush, and a valve cover reseal.  Extensive records are included from the seller’s ownership and this Cayenne is said to be in strong running order while meeting Colorado emissions requirements.

This sale will include a clean title, owner’s manuals, tools, a spare tire, wheel lock key, and air compressor.  Offered at no-reserve, this Cayenne S presents a fantastic value.

@993dream I completely agree with the driver’s assessment. We own the same year and model and live in Colorado. Have 252,000 miles on ours. It’s our ski vehicle and tow vehicle. It has hauled a horse trailer back and forth to Texas 8 times. It hauls my track car too. The harder I drive it the more it feels like a sports car. You can feel the weight shift and puts a smile on your face. The grip in snow is perfect and the traction control is effective without overtaking the drivers desire. I like the tiptronic because it can be driven 100% of the time in manual mode. The output of the 4.5 liter V-8 is typical Porsche sweetness with continuous pull all the way to redline. You can drive it like a truck but it drive like a sports car.

@82turboruf I could not locate the window sticker for the CayenneS in all the docs and boosk I have. The original price tag was $71k in 2006-

@82turboruf I will check on the window sticker- it may be folded in one of the many Porsche books/manuals and I will report back

@82turboruf I live in the city of denver - it snows here- and typically melts away In a couple days - in higher elevations - the Colorado Dept of transportation uses a mixture of sand and magnesium cholride- all vehicles are exposed to this when goin up to mountains- and the vehicle has handled the snow fine- when we go to mountains- typically after our mountain trips the car gets a complete bath and under carriage wash- if you are concerned about rust - there isnt any presence of rust on this car - as for towing this beast will handle anything- With the V8 and the new tires I have on the car are weighted to tow 7700 lbs-
Th e only thing I towed is a new camper I purchased recently in the fall it weighs 3500
And it pulled it with ease -the rear has plug in for lights and it all works fine - I also include a full size porsche spare with the sale- as the spare in trunk won’t help you if you got a flat while towing -

How much snow/salt has she seen?
Have you done much towing with it?(I am looking to tow my 22Boston Whaler Outrage)
Do you have the original window sticker?

  • 993dream (seller) 3 years, 2 monthsago

@quikkix appreciate your comment- wow thats many miles driven- and to be honest doesn't surprise me how well built these cars are- as long as they have been maintained- Ive been seeing in Pinterest a slew of postings on folks buying these older Cayenne's upgrading them with lifts, and larger 33" tires for off road adventures. This Cayenne S is prime candidate for someone to do a build like that - check this out https://offroadium.com/off-road-ready-lifted-porsche-cayenne-turbo-on-33s.html

  • KC-CarGuy (registered bidder) 3 years, 2 monthsago

Nice color combo. Good luck with the sale.

I bought my 955S in '05 and the odo now shows 323,000. Solid, capable, all-around, workhorse. I've lived through the usual 955 issues... Been a great adventure so far. Good luck to the next owner of yours!

  • 993dream (seller) 3 years, 2 monthsago

@maxmilford thanks for the commentary- PPIs are welcome, the V8 is a beast- pulls nicely in all gears- has plenty of power to climb mountain on the highway. The German engineers at Porsche really build a solid machine- many of the issues these cars had have been addressed- the motor and overall vehcile was very well taken care of and not ridden hard- a family vehicle to transport kids to school - I have several 911s one with over 200K and the other over 100K- you cant compare air cooled to water cooled- but impressive vehicles for its age- and integrity.

As others have said, it is clean and especially for the miles. I once bought a SC with 169,000 miles on it and didn't think twice...the miles will put off most buyers no matter how clean. How long will these trucks go without a rebuild?

@993dream I have been looking at these for the past year- 2006 PORSCHE CAYENNE S and you for sure have the cleanest PORSCHE CAYENNE S that I have seen! Spence

  • 993dream (seller) 3 years, 2 monthsago
