Up for auction is this 2006 Porsche 987 Cayman S finished in Black over a Terracotta Special Leather interior. Featuring a 6-speed manual transmission paired with a naturally aspirated flat-six engine, this Cayman S has also been treated to a host of high-end upgrades including KW coilovers, a Milltek exhaust system, AP Racing shifter, a GT3 front fascia, 19” wheels, and more. Having spent virtually its entire life in California while cared for by three prior owners, this Cayman S shows just over 22k miles on the odometer and is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Tennessee.
This Cayman S comes finished in Black and has been upgraded with a 997 GT3 front bumper and spoiler lip. The rear model designation has been deleted and clear paint protection film has been applied over the mirror housings. The seller reports one very small ding on the upper side of the passenger rear quarter panel. The paint on the aftermarket front bumper is also described to slightly differ from the finish on the rest of the car, additional images are provided in the photo gallery along with a clean CARFAX report. This 987 rides on aftermarket 19” wheels measuring 9” wide in front and 11” wide in the rear. These wheels come dressed in a set of Bridgestone Potenza RE-11 tires dated from 2015.
Inside, you will find an attractive Terracotta Special Leather interior featuring a painted center console, the Sport Chrono Package, Terracotta floor mats, and the Power Seat Package. The 3-spoke steering wheel has been customized with thicker ergonomic grips, and a set of stainless-steel pedal covers have been installed along with an upgraded Pioneer head unit. The seller reports the cabin to show minimal signs of wear while retaining the full functionality of all gauges and accessories.
This 987 is equipped with a mid-mounted 3.4L flat-six engine that sends 295 HP stock to the rear wheel through a 6-speed manual transmission. Performance upgrades include an AP Racing shifter, Milltek Sport exhaust, K&N air filter, and a KW coilover suspension. All available maintenance history is provided on CARFAX and the seller reports that a standard fluid and filter service has been recently completed. The brakes and clutch are also noted to be in good condition.

@shapeskis This car has the larger non-serviceable IMS bearing. These bearings had an extremely low failure rate.
Has the ims bearing been addressed?

I am in Knoxville and wonder if it would be possible to have eyes on the vehicle to be able to determine if the "ding" on the rear passenger quarter would be something I could live with. Freak about dings...some are ok and some have actually caused me to get a new vehicle 'cuz they just can bug the begeezus outta me. The other issues brought up are of no consequence to me, but the ding is a huge hurdle.

@jnduda I am away from the car/shop right nowiiiout at the Monterey Reunion.. but will get the overrev report as soon as possible. It will certainly be before the end of the sale. I am trying to get someone to my shop right now to hookup the computer. It is very possible the car has had track time. I can’t say one way or another. However, if you saw the car in person you would see just how clean the lower panels are. If it was tracked, I’m sure it was not a weekly thing. Obviously, very typical for these cars to be ran in DEs, driven hard on drive outs, and ran in autocross. Our local PCA cars see this activity regularly. This particular has definitely not been abused in any way. This is by far the cleanest, strongest and youngest feeling 987.1 I have ever had. A very fresh car
@MAC4Cars 87 shows a very small ding on about half the size of a dime on the rear pass quarter. I do not believe the head unit has car play. Thanks!

(Assuming solid mechanical condition) this S looks awesome. I had the same year/spec/mlg and it is one of the best Porsches I have owned. Milltek is a great upgrade and always thought about the GT3 front bumper. GLWS I think 1st gen Caymans will appreciate well in the future.

@Arkus1 definitely not tracked or if it was, wasn’t much. The car is very very clean inside and out. There are none of the typical rock chips down the side of the car that you would usually see on a well tracked car. I can get the rev report and upload it. Thanks! Miles
