This inaugural-year 2006 Porsche 987 Cayman S comes finished in Arctic Silver Metallic over Terracotta Special Leather interior and features matching floor mats, a Sport steering wheel, automatic climate control, and a 6-speed manual transmission. Upgraded with LED Spars, a Circuitwerks stainless steel cat-back exhaust, and Victory Equipment wheels, this Cayman S was acquired by the seller in 2021 and is now being offered for auction out of New Jersey with less than 54k miles on the odometer.

Featuring a sleek fastback design inspired by vintage Porsche racing cars, this Cayman S comes finished in Arctic Silver Metallic. Modifications include LED Spars, clear side markers, a front spoiler lip, and carbon fiber mirror accents. The original fog lights and trim are said to accompany the sale, as shown in the gallery. The car rides on 18” aftermarket Victor Equipment wheels dressed in Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires from 2022. The seller notes the front bumper was refinished due to front-end damage in November 2012. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a CARFAX report.

The cabin presents Terracotta Special Leather upholstery with matching floor mats, a three-spoke Sport steering wheel, and automatic climate control. Other accessories include power windows and mirrors, cruise control, a luggage net over the engine cover, and an AM/FM CD stereo. All gauges, electronics, and accessories are reported to be working properly.

A naturally aspirated 3.4-liter flat-six engine sends up to 295 HP and 251 lb.-ft of torque to the rear wheels by way of a 6-speed manual transmission. Standard features include an Active Brake Differential (ABD), a 4-piston monobloc brake system, Porsche Stability Management (PSM), and variable-ratio power steering. A Circuitwerks stainless steel cat-back exhaust was installed in May 2023, and the seller states all maintenance items are up to date.

This sale will include a clean title, owner’s manuals, a window sticker, two keys, and a host of service documentation.

The seller would like you to know: “This Cayman S has always been garaged, constantly waxed, and taken care of. It is a true mint-condition low-mileage car that is a first-year collectible. This example truly still looks new! Original parts included in the sale consist of the following: brake pads and rotors, fog lights, and trim. It is easy to swap the fog lights & trim back and no permanent modifications have been done to the vehicle. Please see maintenance items below:

    @Sailboatcaptain appreciate the detailed response!

    Agree on clutch comment below - shouldn’t be needed under proper driving at this mileage but have seen a lot that opt to go with a short shifter and lighter flywheel when doing this.

    New AOS in August 2023
    Not sure why this wasn’t listed in the auction it was supposed to be. I replaced the original one just due to the age of it. It did not fail and I still have it for documentation and can be included in sale if desired.
    I will also include the original Rotors and Brake Pads date stamped that I just took off the vehicle in May of 2023 and they are only half worn. That shows you how lightly this car was driven. 50k miles on original brake pads and rotors and only half worn! I know it sounds crazy but I have them, took them off myself and they are date coded.
    I only changed the brakes and rotors and fluids because of age. Plus Castrol SRF is one of the best fluids and is the most hydrophobic. I run it in all my cars including my wife’s SUV and my daily.

    @CBeth
    1. I have 9 cars and don’t use them very much. And since buying this Cayman S I had the opportunity to acquire a two year old GT4 at a great price just two months ago. So between that and my classic cars it just is not the most efficient to have many similar cars.
    2. It has not had a clutch replacement and doesn’t need one. I love when people ask that question. Cars should not need clutches at 50k miles. A clutch used to last the life of the car if driven properly. Now I understand In a high performance car it can be different, but if a car is driven properly and not beat and the driver is proficient in clutch disengagement a clutch like this should last a very long time and at least 100k miles. I see them with 120k miles on the original clutch.
    3. The Front Bumper was repainted because the car was backed into in a parking lot. The previous owner was a friend of mine and he was meticulous like myself and wanted it repainted because there was a scratch in it. It was minor as stated in report.
    4. The AOS was replaced in August of 2023
    I am open to a PPI of course but usually you should ask that before purchasing not after. I have not had any analysis done on oil or anything because there is no need with the mileage and meticulous maintenance done on the vehicle.
    5. It is the last day of the auction with 6 hours left and I am just now getting asked for a cold start video. That may be tough to accomplish within 6hrs on a Monday. It is very cold here and snow on the ground and I am at work. However I can attest with 100% accuracy that the car does not smoke does not consume any oil or anything.
    If I get a chance to leave work in the next few hours and drive to my second home I will make a video.

    Hey @sailboatcaptain!

    Lovely color combo! A couple questions that I couldn't quite answer from looking at the listing details/pics
    1) I'd love to know why you're selling it after only a few thousand miles of ownership?
    2) Has it ever had the clutch replaced? If so when, if not how is it holding up? When do you think that will need to be done?
    3) Can you share any more details of the front-end damage in November 2012 based on previous owners etc? What happened & what was repaired exactly?
    4) Has any Engine oil analysis or bore scoping been done before? If so can you share any results? Would you be open to PPI for this? Any additional info on AOS being serviced?
    5) Are you able to upload a cold start video & idle by any chance?

    Thank you!

    @8kahley8
    It’s actually an Accessory Belt. These cars only have one belt. Sorry if Pcarmarket listed it incorrectly.
    Are you a genuine bidder or a spectator ?

  • 8kahley8 3 months, 1 weekago

    @RJ80
    Yes as stated it’s a Cat back exhaust so that means the catalytic converters are still present. The exhaust mounts from the Cat back . And yes you are correct I looked at the paperwork , my apologies it is a Circuitwerks exhaust.
    No there is no drone. It has a nice regular exhaust sound. Due to the Cats still being installed and cat back exhaust would not drone unless mufflers were removed. But the circuitwerks exhaust as you can see has nice stainless mufflers.
    What you really gain is a little deeper exhaust noise and you shed a lot of weight vs the stock exhaust.
    The Cats are the original stock units and the original O2sensors are still retained and functioning properly.

  • RJ80 (registered bidder) 3 months, 1 weekago

    @Sailboatcaptain I can't find any reference to an Autowerks exhaust for a 987 Cayman online. Is it possible this is the $350 Circuit Werks system that I see on several websites? Does the exhaust drone at highway cruise and are catalytic converters still installed?

    @Alexisrm6
    If you look. Looks like FLA made an error on registration even when the car was brand new on 06 first registration got entered incorrectly as White. Then in 2017 they corrected it in FLA to silver. And NJ has it registered as silver as well.
    Car is silver and always has been other than the PPF before and New PPF I put on.
    Car was Never painted

  • Sailboatcaptain (seller) 3 months, 1 weekago

    Car was never white. Look at the Vin and the window sticker. Always silver.
    Carfax report showed somewhere in FLA on an inspection or something someone made a mistake and entered white for color instead of silver

  • Alexisrm6 3 months, 1 weekago

    The Carfax reports the car as white initially and then as silver in 2017. Do you know if the car was repainted?

  • por356c 3 months, 1 weekago

    @Sailboatcaptain Yep! I have one of those clear engine covers on my 07 Cayman S - they are very cool. Thats why I am looking for a more snazzy engine intake manifold cover. I could not tell if those were aftermarket covers, or if you had painted what's on the engine. Thanks!

  • Sailboatcaptain (seller) 3 months, 1 weekago

    @por365c
    I actually painted those myself. They make clear engine cover lids that really let you see this beautiful motor. One of those would look fantastic on this car.

  • por356c 3 months, 1 weekago

    Beautiful car! I have a question please for the seller: Do you know where those silver Engine Intake Manifolds covers came from? If possible I would really would like to know who sells those. Thanks!

  • KCRiley (registered bidder) 3 months, 1 weekago

    @Sailboatcaptain .....no worries just a clarification. Nice list of modifications and a unique interior make this Cayman pretty appealing.

  • PCARMARKET_MODERATOR 3 months, 1 weekago

    @KCRiley The listing has been updated, we apologize for any inconvenience.

  • Sailboatcaptain (seller) 3 months, 1 weekago

    @KCRiley
    You are correct. I am the seller and the car does not have PASM it does has PSM control
    It also does not have LED daytime running lights. Those are the Porsche LED light spars and have to be switched on. They are not on all the time.
    I told pcarmarket to correct those few things. They have not. My apologies for the confusion

  • KCRiley (registered bidder) 3 months, 1 weekago

    The description of features lists PASM (active suspension management) which I believe is being confused with PSM (stability management). This vehicle does not appear to be equipped with the PASM option.
