The second-generation Saab 9-3 featured a significantly more rigid platform than its forerunner, and for the 2004 model year, a convertible variant was introduced. Presented in Jet Black over Parchment leather upholstery, this 9-3 convertible is powered by a 2.0-liter inline-four engine paired with a 5-speed automatic transmission. With just under 138k miles on the odometer, it is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Florida.
Finished in Jet Black, this 9-3 example features a black retractable soft top with a heated rear glass window. Other equipment includes side-mounted indicator lamps and silver-finished aluminum 16” wheels mounted with Goodyear tires. While the right front tire exceeds wear marks, the others show around 60% tread remaining. The paint is said to exhibit luster and depth after a recent cleaning, buffing, waxing, and polishing, although some slight scratches remain along with minor rock chips on the front end. The seller also identifies some curb rash on the wheels and a few small dings.
The interior features Parchment leather-upholstered bucket seats complemented by matching door panels, wood-effect decorative trim, and black carpets. Accessories include power-adjustable front seats, analog instrumentation with metallic-rimmed gauges, a leather-wrapped multi-function steering wheel, power windows with Express-Up functions, and keyless entry. The seller notes that the front seat cushions have been reupholstered in genuine leather, with slight cracking primarily on the outside bolsters of the seat backs, more noticeable on the driver’s seat. The back seat remains in excellent condition with minimal wear, if any. The dashboard is free of cracks, and the center stack touch controls exhibit minor wear. The headliner shows age-related staining, the right sunvisor lacks a vanity mirror cover, the left front door lock actuator works intermittently, and the left front seat rails travel approximately 1/2" when the car comes to a stop. The leather steering wheel was also recently cleaned and conditioned.
Power is derived from a 2.0-liter inline-four-cylinder engine, delivering a maximum of 210 HP and 221 lb.-ft of torque to the front wheels via a 5-speed Sentronic automatic transmission. Notable features include 4-wheel disc brakes with ventilated front discs, a MacPherson strut-type front suspension, rear independent suspension, and passive rear-wheel steering. The CARFAX report documents a comprehensive service history with 15 records. The seller notes the car has been diligently cared for by an authorized Saab repair facility, and specific records indicate the replacement of inner and outer tie rods, as well as sway bar end links. The seller plans to conduct an oil service before handing the vehicle to the new owner. Slight oil seepage is also noted from the underside.
This sale will include the owner’s manuals, a toolkit, a spare tire, and a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: “Thank you for viewing my auction for this car. I purchased the SAAB from the second owner and have used it daily. It has performed flawlessly and has been a joy to drive. I have always had a soft spot for SAABs; they are a great value for the dollar. 9-3s are a very well-built automobile and the technology that they employed on the cars at the time of manufacture was just as up-to-date and relevant as their German competitors. This car performs and presents well and I would have no hesitation to drive it anywhere. It looks good with top up or down and is a superb value for a European cabriolet.”

@Jwkjr1 it certainly would be if that were the case!
@dibblem3 very simple
Have the buyer use the contact seller button to exchange info privately and arrange a showing. It is perfectly fine to see the car and encouraged. The purchase needs to be through the platform via bidding. Thank you.
Kinda ridiculous if someone lives nearby and wants to inspect a vehicle.
@Jwkjr1 Thank you for the inquiry. I'm not sure how to do this. PCM is very adamant about not sharing info. I will email my rep and ask them for guidance.
I live within 2 hours of you---how can I inspect the car in person ?
Bid in the amount of $500

@Jwkjr1 Thank you for the inquiry. The A/C works perfectly. It was serviced last summer and has performed flawlessly since. The top operates exactly s it should and the mechanism shows no signs of strain or struggle. You can see the video and hear it as it's going down. I ve asked PC to upload the pics from underneath that show the condition. It looks normal IMO for a car of this vintage. The mechanical side has been scanned and showed no warnings of impending issues.
Please let us know about the 'money pit' items---A/C, top condition and also the mechanism., any rust issues from early life in Wisconsin ?? thanks JIM K
