Designed to travel through the harshest conditions, the AM General High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle (HMMWV) or Humvee offers a 16” ground clearance, inboard disc brakes, and a double wishbone suspension with portal gears on all four wheels. This 2007 example has been upgraded and overhauled by West Kentucky Surplus including full disassembly and refinishing in green military-spec Chemical Agent Resistant Coating (CARC) as well as the installation of heavy-duty rock sliders, a folding heavy-duty military brush guard, a 52” curved light bar and mount, reupholstered tan vinyl seats, A/C system, and Black Rhino Armory wheels with 40” tires. Showing approximately 6k on the odometer, this 2007 AM General HMMWV is now being offered at auction by its seller out of Florida.
The body is said to have been completely disassembled, prepped, and painted in a green CARC which provides excellent corrosion and chemical resistance. During this process, new OEM front glass was installed as well as new seals, retainers, reflectors, LED marker lights, hood/bumper latches, and plastic light buckets. Equipment includes a heavy-duty folding black powder coated military brush guard, black powder coated heavy-duty rock sliders, a 52” curved LED light bar and bracket, a steel rear bumper with recovery hooks, upgraded LED headlights, a rear cargo bed, a clamshell hood with handles, and large towing-style mirrors. Detailed images are provided in the gallery. The 17” Black Rhino Armory wheels are mounted with 40” Milestar Patagonia tires.
The cabin includes newly reupholstered tan bucket seats and a folding center jump seat in the rear for two additional occupants. Amenities include heat, air-conditioning, soundproof floorboards, black three-point seatbelts, a lap belt for the jump seat, a leather-wrapped Grant steering wheel, a heater, an ignition kill switch, and a roof-mounted tachometer.
This AM General HMMWV is powered by a 6.5L turbodiesel V8 rated at 190 HP and 380 lb.-ft of torque. All four wheels are driven by a full-time 4WD system paired with a 4-speed 4L80E transmission and a two-speed transfer case. The HMMWV is equipped with a double wishbone suspension with helical gear-reduction hubs as well as a high-mounted radiator and air intake Work completed in April of 2022 includes a new fuel/water separator, new 800 CCA Group 34 batteries, draining and cleaning of the fuel tank and fuel system, a new fuel tank drain plug and fuel neck filler, inspection, draining and refilling of the geared hubs, differentials, transfer case, transmission, cooling, steering, and brake systems, lubrication of all grease fittings, and inspection of the lighting, gauges, and drive line components.
