Up for auction is this 2007 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 finished in Torch Red over a Charcoal/Crimson leather interior. Based on the fifth-generation S197 Ford Mustang and inspired by the original GT500 produced from 1967-1970, the Shelby GT500 was developed by Ford’s Special Vehicles Team (SVT) and equipped with a supercharged 5.4L V8 producing up to 500 HP. This 2007 example was originally sold from Hilbish Ford of Kannapolis, NC, and has since been fitted with a JLT Performance cold air intake, a Borla exhaust system, and an upgraded supercharger pulley.  Showing just over 3k miles on the odometer, this nicely presented GT500 is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Washington.

This GT500 is finished in Torch Red (D3) with double white racing stripes and GT500 rocker graphics. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with paint meter readings and a clean CARFAX report. This example has been customized with a vented GT500KR-style hood and locking hood pins, billet aluminum upper and lower grille inserts, and a “Shelby” aluminum third brake light cover. The GT500 can be distinguished from a standard Mustang by its unique front and rear fascias, front splitter, rear spoiler, large Brembo brake calipers, and quad exhaust tips. This GT500 retains its factory 18" 10-spoke alloy SVT wheels which are clad in their original Goodyear Eagle F1 tires.  The tires are recommended for replacement due to age.

The cabin features 6-way power-adjustable sport bucket seats upholstered in Charcoal leather with Crimson perforated inserts and embossed Cobra logos in the upper backrests. The Shelby branded leather-wrapped steering wheel features contrasting red stitching and sits ahead of a 160-MPH speedometer, an SVT-specific 7k-RPM tachometer, and gauges for fuel level, coolant temperature, oil temperature, and supercharger boost. Amenities include remote keyless entry, air conditioning, a 7” color multimedia display, and an 8-speaker Shaker 500 audio system. This example has also been fitted with aftermarket aluminum HVAC controls, window switch plates, and mirror adjusters.

The Shelby GT500 is powered by a supercharged and intercooled 5.4L Ford Modular V8, similar to the engine found in the first-generation Ford GT supercar. Equipped with an Eaton R122 Roots-style supercharger and high-flow cylinder heads, the GT500 was factory rated at 500 HP and 480 lb.-ft of torque. A 6-speed manual transmission and limited-slip differential drive the rear wheels and allow the GT500 to reach 60 MPH from a standstill in approximately 4.5 seconds.  The GT500 receives a host of upgrades over a standard V8 Mustang including larger Brembo brakes, wider tires, stiffer springs and dampers, thicker anti-roll bars, and a three-link Ford Racing Panhard-style rear suspension. This particular example also features a JLT Performance “Big Air” carbon fiber cold-air intake, a Borla exhaust system, and an upgraded supercharger pulley. CARFAX shows a history of service carried out by Ford dealerships in North Carolina and Maryland.
