This 2007 Porsche 997 Carrera Coupe comes finished in Speed Yellow over a black interior with leather Sport Seats and features a 6-speed manual transmission connected to its 3.6-liter engine. It was also ordered with optional 19” Carrera Sport wheels, Sport Chrono Package Plus, and a three-spoke Sport steering wheel. It was sold new from Checkered Flag Porsche of Virginia Beach at a sticker price over $78k and was eventually relocated to California in 2011 where it is now being offered for auction showing approximately 38k miles on the odometer.

This 997 wears a Speed Yellow exterior complemented by optional 19” Carrera Sport wheels with colored Porsche center crests and Pirelli P Zero tires. The CARFAX report shows minor rear-end damage to have occurred in 2019, detailed images are provided in the gallery along with the full CARFAX report. The seller acquired the car about four years ago and it has been garage-kept ever since while claimed to have seen track use on only one occasion.

Inside, the driver is greeted by a black interior featuring optional leather Sport Seats and a three-spoke Sport steering wheel. Other options include self-dimming mirrors, heated front seats, and Sport Chrono Package Plus which adds a lap timer stopwatch to the center dashboard. Some minor signs of wear are noted on the driver’s seat and the seller confirms all gauges and accessories to be fully functional.

A naturally aspirated 3.6-liter flat-six engine delivers up to 325 HP and 273 lb.-ft of torque to the rear wheels by way of a 6-speed manual transmission. The maintenance history provided on CARFAX shows four new tires mounted and balanced by Mercedes-Benz of Oxnard in 2017 along with an oil and filter change, rear brake replacement, an emissions inspection, and pre-delivery inspection. The seller states routine oil changes have also been carried out at 5k-mile intervals.

This sale will include a clean title.

Has this beautiful car been owned by a smoker?

  • Qtrfoil (registered bidder) 1 year, 8 monthsago

@bumblebee That comes with the Sport Chrono package. One of the things the Sport button does is stiffen the dampers if the car has PASM. It also remaps the engine management and the throttle mapping. It will also turn down stability control a bit, and allow a little more tail out before it engages. More than just a clock! :)

  • bumblebee (seller) 1 year, 8 monthsago

    @Qtrfoil it has Sport mode.

  • Qtrfoil (registered bidder) 1 year, 8 monthsago

Not mentioned, any chance this car has Porsche Active Suspension Management?

@jntyoon A woman bumped into me at a red light and caused minor damage to the bumper stops on each side of the license plate. I had the bumper stops repainted.

From 06 the 997s have a bigger bearing. It doesn’t need replacement because to replace it you have to split the case, open the engine. The issue that’s more common with these cars is bore scoring. A positive here this is a 3.6 engine which is less prone to scoring than the 3.8 engines on the S cars.

@stupendous It only has approximately 38K miles on it. i have performed regular maintenance, such as oil changes every year or 5,000 miles, since I have owned it. See the CarFax in the Gallery for the service history for the lifetime of the car.

  • stupendous (registered bidder) 1 year, 8 monthsago

@bumblebee could you please speak to the service records? Is there anything that this needs that would prevent it from taking a 1200+ road trip today?

  • kyle.burbach (registered bidder) 1 year, 8 monthsago

@Tmort in 2006 Porsche started putting in more robust IMS bearings. It is still susceptible to failure, but at lower rates.

  • bumblebee (seller) 1 year, 8 monthsago

@Tmort No. I think the IMS issue was resolved in the 2006 model.

  • Tmort (registered bidder) 1 year, 8 monthsago

IMS bearing range car? If so has that been resolved?

  • luis.seneriz (registered bidder) 1 year, 8 monthsago

@WRENCH.56 . My 3/98 has 330 hp weights 2700 lbs and I still want more. My 03 turbo has 500 hp and I still want more. These cars are addictive.

I think it’s straight up wrong to assume that a base Carrera is somehow inadequate with 325 hp available. What? Apparently an S is unsatisfactory as well because it has no 4.0 motor? C’mon man!
FWIW, I designed two buildings for the original owner and founder of Checkered Flag Motors in VA, the original dealer for this car. I bought four cars from that dealership. I’m certain that they provided top notch service for this car in its early years.

    Yu,
    No. Not in consideration.

  • UpNorthMN (registered bidder) 1 year, 8 monthsago

Love this color. When we were in the hunt for a 997 I test drove 997.1 and 997.2 base Carreras, as well as 2S and 4S models. Did not like the way the 4S felt, just preferred the rear drive I guess. Found a white 997.2 base Carrera and dove in. Plenty of power in a Carrera to send you to jail if you lack control. OMG what a difference color makes, so wish ours was speed yellow.

@kyle.burbach I believe it was from a leaking washer from the drain plug. When a new washer and plug was installed after an oil change, the leak stopped.

  • kyle.burbach (registered bidder) 1 year, 8 monthsago

Do you know what the black residue is on the bottom of the engine in photo 81? Is this evidence of an oil leak and has it been checked by a mechanic?

  • luis.seneriz (registered bidder) 1 year, 8 monthsago

Really like the car, I taught it was an S. Someone needs to buy this car and put a 4.0 on it.

  • bumblebee (seller) 1 year, 8 monthsago

    Stunning color and performance!
