This 2007 Porsche 997 Carrera S Coupe comes finished in Black over a matching interior with leather Sport Seats, featuring a 6-speed manual gearbox paired with its 3.8-liter flat-six engine. The car was ordered at an original sticker price of over $91k including optional 19” Sport Design wheels, Sport Chrono Package Plus, Bose High-End Sound Package, illuminated door entry guards, Porsche crested headrests, and a three-spoke multifunction steering wheel.  Cared for by three prior owners, the car received an upgraded Fabspeed exhaust system and is said to have been driven very sparingly over the past two years. This 997 is now being offered for auction by its seller out of New York showing just over 27k miles on the odometer.

The exterior is finished in Black (A1) and features red-painted brake calipers as standard on the Carrera S.  Optional 19” Sport Design wheels come dressed in a set of Bridgestone tires. The car is said to have spent its life garage kept, and the seller notes the rear bumper was previously refinished and shows a slightly hazy appearance.  Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with paint meter readings and a clean CARFAX report.

Inside, the driver is greeted by optional illuminated door sills guards in stainless steel as well as heated leather Sport Seats with Porsche crested headrests and an optional three-spoke multifunction steering wheel.  Other equipment includes Navigation for PCM, Bose High-End Sound Package, and a remote 6-disc CD changer.  Some wear is noted on the outer driver's seat bolster and the seller confirms all features and accessories to be fully functional.

As much as 355 HP and 295 lb.-ft of torque stock are sent to the rear wheel by way of a 3.8-liter flat-six engine paired with a 6-speed manual transmission. The optional Sport Chrono Package Plus is equipped from the factory and an upgraded Fabspeed carbon fiber Competition air intake has been installed along with an exhaust system including Fabspeed headers, X-pipe, and Maxflo performance mufflers. The CARFAX report shows a service completed in May of 2022 at 26,870 miles.

This sale will include a clean title and the original owner's manuals.

@jrexotics yes. The vehicle has Fabspeed 200 cel high flow cats. No check engine lights The Fab speed setup is great as it gives a nice throaty sound but modest at the same time.

  • jrexotics (registered bidder) 1 year, 9 monthsago

Does the exhaust system retained the cats?
    Thanks

Thank you. I’ve read that article and the forums many times and find myself still asking. Paranoia but thanks for the reassurance on the 2007.

@BlueDevils00 : I apologize. Was away for the weekend and just seeing this now. As just mentioned by another member who just posted very resourceful information, I have not heard of this 07 IMS ever failing. My mechanic said he hasn't seen it either. However, I don't know If this is fact or not. I have owned many 07s 08s and 09s myself and never an issue. Hope this helps!

    Cheers

@BlueDevils00 this has been covered extensively on Rennlist. Here is the link to the article
    https://rennlist.com/how-tos/a/porsche-997-why-the-ims-bearing-issue-is-overblown-383755
Here is an excerpt from the article:
    "Which Models Were Affected?
The IMS bearing issue is a carryover issue from the 996 model. The earlier non-Carrera S 997 models had the same basic engine as the 996, hence, the same issues.

Most late 2005 and early 2006 997 models are included and, as mentioned earlier, a very small percentage of those cars were affected. But if there is doubt in your mind, most experts completely rule out any IMS bearing failure on 2007 and newer 997 models, as some engine components were updated and no incidents have been reported so far. If you happen to be in the market for one, remember that a Porsche CPO warranty could be a good idea, possibly helping you sleep better at night. So far this is not a reason to pass up on your long-awaited Porsche acquisition.
