We are pleased to present this 2007 Porsche 997 GT3 finished in Speed Yellow. The second generation of Porsche’s road-going GT3 homologation car, the 997 version was debuted in 2006 with new Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), advanced “zero lift” aerodynamics, and a new 3.6L Mezger engine producing over 400 HP. This 2007 example is one of less than 1,000 sold in the United States and comes optioned with a premium Dark Grey Natural Leather interior, Chrono Package Plus, Sound Package Plus, Bi-Xenon headlamps, and Adaptive Sport Seats with exclusive crested headrests. Having remained with its original owner in California up until 2021, this GT3 has been recently serviced and is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Florida showing approximately 24k miles on the odometer.
This GT3 was ordered in Speed Yellow including optional painted headlight cleaner covers. The bodywork of the GT3 incorporates additional intakes into the front and rear fascias as well as a lower front spoiler and fixed rear wing. The seller notes clear paint protection film has been applied over the front bumper, mirror caps, and headlamps, additional images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report. The factory 19” GT3 wheels have received a custom chrome finish and were recently dressed in a set of new Continental tires.
The cabin is trimmed in Dark Grey Natural Leather upholstery with matching Alcantara inlays and optional Adaptive Sport Seats. A complete list of factory options is provided below:

The naturally aspirated 3.6L flat-six Mezger engine is paired with a 6-speed manual transmission and limited-slip differential, sending as much as 415 HP and 300 lb.-ft of torque to the rear wheels. The optional Chrono Package Plus is equipped, and standard performance features include sport-tuned Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), a lightweight aluminum trunk lid and door panels, and cross-drilled brake rotors paired with 6-piston calipers in front and 4-piston calipers in the rear. The exhaust system has also been upgraded with aftermarket components. CARFAX shows all maintenance to have been addressed by the original selling Porsche dealership up until 2021, and service carried out in preparation for sale is said to include oil and filter changes as well as new rear brake pads and rotors. @phowley there is no paint work on this vehicle but it can still differentiate from OEM 4-8 and resprayed 10+

@phowley no there is not any PPF on hood anything under 8.5 is in range of paint wise from factory
@CWill9525 @CWill9525, Ok but I was thinking that since the paint readings on the hood are 6.5 and 7.5 that the PPF covered the full hood.
@phowley yes all they original mufflers and headers are in the box also as far as the PPF goes it's just on the front bumper and headlights nothing on fenders or hood
@CWill9525 @CWill9525, Hello CWill9525. Thank you for the comment on the exhaust parts and the two pictures. Are they all of the original pieces as it's hard to see just what's in those boxes.
As for the PPF, does it go up the the wind screen or does it stop right above the head lights.

@Bscher this 997 also has a Mezger motor which did not have IMS bearing issues.
Apologize if I am making anyone repeat themselves.. do the IMS bearings need replacement on this model? I thought most 996 and 997 modes before 2009 did (unless a turbo). Excuse my ignorance if I am wrong.
@tangerine997 they clutch was not replaced and clutch feels good just spoke with Porsche mechanic we have about it clutch has plenty of life and feels good. The seal had a small leak customer was concerned so was replaced.
@CWill9525 , So when Newport Beach did the crank seal, normally you would also do the clutch and flywheel at the same time, but due to the low mileage, why would you need to.
Did they say why the seal needed to be done so soon in the life of the car?
As of today, how does the clutch feel. Will it need to be done soon.

As many where wondering and asking questions about the carfax on the date 8/7/2008 saying ENGINE REPLACED I have spoke with Porsche Newport Beach and confirmed they actual engine was never replaced but was removed and put back into vehicle to perform the rear crankshaft seal replacement not sure why they worded the way they did but they do also have all service history on the vehicle for any future buyer to acquire from them after showing ownership hope this helps and answers any questions happy bidding.

@Tangerine997 We performed service to this car on 11/29/2021 replaced plugs and drivebelt also all 4 tires and performed lube oil filter change. Also performed Brake flush service. Replaced front brake rotors and pads and also replaced rear rotors and brake pads. This is what we have on vehicle no other history regarding service other than what is on the carfax. Just uploaded undercarriage pictures for your viewing.

@tangerine997 there is no need to bad mouth any body that works for me they did a great job and this is what we do, do videos with cars there are plenty others we do also that we have offered for sale. Some may not like it some do this is all personal opinion. However if there are questions about the vehicle I will be happy to answer. I will have pictures up today of undercarriage and wheel wells.

The video is borderline comical, (especially the blue hawaiian shirted passenger) until you realize it’s supposed to be a serious evaluation of the 2007 GT3… I guess? It certainly doesn’t do any justice to the car. That aside, I’m curious about the engine swap as well, and looking forward to the details from the seller.

@Tangerine997- my guess is that the dealer pulled the engine to replace the rear main seal, then “replaced” the engine in the chassis. Had the same question on a 996 turbo I just bought. Called the dealer who did the service and they explained it.
