Equipped with a 3.6-liter Mezger engine producing 415 HP, this 2007 Porsche 997 GT3 comes finished in Guards Red over a black leather and Alcantara interior with optional Guards Red accents. Supported by a long history of service on CARFAX and with approximately 55k miles on the odometer, this GT3 is now being offered for auction by its seller out of New York.

This 997 is finished in Guards Red with GT3-specific bodywork including a lightweight aluminum bonnet and door panels, an adjustable rear wing, and unique fascias with a more aggressive design. It rides on a set of aftermarket 19” Flow One wheels dressed in Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires dated from 2018 and 2019. Clear paint protection film covers the nose and rear quarter panels. The windshield was replaced in July 2020 and some imperfections are noted on the front bumper and lower spoiler. The front and rear bumpers are said to have been refinished under prior ownership and the CARFAX report shows damage to the rear end in 2008. The seller also states an accident occurred at New Jersey Motorsports Park several years ago that necessitated the replacement of the driver's side quarter panel.

The cabin is trimmed in black leather and Alcantara accented by red deviated stitching and optional instrument dials and seatbelts in Guards Red. Other options include Sound Package Plus, self-dimming mirrors with integrated rain sensors, the Bi-Xenon Headlamp Package, and Porsche Communication Management (PCM 2.1). Aftermarket aluminum pedal covers have been fitted, and the head unit has been removed and is also said to accompany the sale should the next owner wish to reinstall it.

A naturally aspirated 3.6-liter Mezger flat-six engine provides an output of up to 415 HP and 300 lb.-ft of torque to the rear wheels by way of a 6-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. An oil change is said to have been completed in preparation for sale and the CARFAX report shows a long history of maintenance including service at Porsche Conshohocken in 2021 at 52k miles. The seller notes the 1st and 5th gear can be notchy without full depression of the clutch.

This sale will include a clean title.

Thanks DriverM! Emailed you my info and already got a call from Pcarmarket to confirm everything. Have a great time in Mexico.

Everyone else thanks for the congrats. Will look great next to my Atlas Grey manual 997 tt.

  • DriverM (seller) 1 year, 5 monthsago

@Fortun3 I will be in touch. That’s a fantastic buy. The least expensive 997.1 GT3 around.
@Skopy54 You don’t know the full story nor is it important. I usually stay out of BS like this but Goldstein is the one that’s not transparent. I’ll leave it at that.
Working on another Mojito. Peace out.

@DriverM lol.. wanting important information about a car disclosed doesnt make a person a "wannabe" it makes them an important part of an online auction community ;)

Goldstein had no idea about a notch 1st and 5th gear. He didn’t even drive the car!!! I made total disclosure. If you were a seller here and had a kamikaze pilot five in on you you would understand how I feel.

  • Skopy54 (registered bidder) 1 year, 5 monthsago

@pcarmarket should recognize sellers attitude. This is an auction. Not a place to call names. Let’s all be adults.

  • BenQ (registered bidder) 1 year, 5 monthsago

@carterruss do you really want it? Personal or dealer? If so I’ll back out.

Haha you should’ve seen goldstein recently on the competing auction site on a 996.1 gt3 . Needless to say he has a critical eye for these cars. Imo he wants to depress the price for himself.

In my personal opinion having replacement engine is a good thing. meaning it has lower mileage and less wear. not sure why its getting so much hate

This is the single lowest priced GT3 anywhere. I was totally transparent in my description. I did not know the engine was replaced nor had any proof of it.
I showed it as accurately as possible.
Why people have to feel that they are the Porsche Police is beyond me. It will get sold.

Do you have documentation of the coolant lines being pinned? Sorry if I missed that.

I would like to thank Goldstein because I'm having a hard time seeing where it was clearly disclosed that the engine was a replacement. Not all of us are experts so clearly calling out the flaws and mods are critical to a fair and honest auction.

  • Dsgray16 (registered bidder) 1 year, 5 monthsago

@maybeillwinone I think its a stretch to declare that to be the goal.. the commenter was frustrated that once again, key parts of this car's history were not disclosed and highlighted. If I were a serious buyer of this car, I would be thrilled to learn this info and not pissed.

  • maybeillwinone (registered bidder) 1 year, 5 monthsago

Coming in here with the CLEAR intent to ruin an auction sale is pretty disappointing to see, especially from somebody that self proclaims themselves to be such an enthusiast. The fact pcar had to come in here to tell you to end it says more than I need to. Good luck to all that are ACTUALLY involved and interested in the car.

  • DriverM (seller) 1 year, 5 monthsago

I was talking about engine replacements in general but whatever.

  • DriverM (seller) 1 year, 5 monthsago

I was talking about engine replacements in general but whatever.

  • Dsgray16 (registered bidder) 1 year, 5 monthsago

@DriverM this just makes you look even less knowledgeable of the platform… 991 GT3’s had major engine issues from the factory and there was a huge fight over it and Porsche issued an industry record replacement warranty as a result…. 997 GT3’s have Mezger engines and issues are seldom, never mind full replacements… so seeing one is a major event of note in a cars past. Something an auction should lead with and not something that should be forced to light by inquiring parties.. shutting down this conversation is not your route to selling this car IMO.

  • DriverM (seller) 1 year, 5 monthsago

As a matter of fact, ALL of the engines in the 2014 MY GT3’s and many of the 2015’s had replacement engines. The very first car car I bought here on Pcar was a Yellow GT3 that had a replacement engine. I loved that car and was a fantastic deal.
Does that mean we crush the car into a little cube and make it into a coffee table?
Sorry now but I am furious from this incredibly rude and tasteless attempt at fame snd notoriety from an amateur.
Two GT3’s! ? I guess you are an authority now.
I have owned a few Pcars myself but still don’t consider myself an authority.

  • PCARMARKET 1 year, 5 monthsago

@Goldstein thank you. As a commitment to our users not to be like other auction sites we kindly ask to end this here. Your point has been publicly posted and addressed, from this point on we cannot derail the seller’s auction. We appreciate your understanding.

  • Dsgray16 (registered bidder) 1 year, 5 monthsago

@GruppeG where is the motor replacement documented in this listing?

For all: I know @Goldstein from the Porsche community and can vouch for him. He just went and looked at this car and told me about the inconsistencies and gaps in info the seller was disclosing on BaT. He is just trying to shine a light on some possible grey areas of info on this car. More info is always good.

All this said, the car is still a great drivers example at the right price. GLWA.

  • carterruss (registered bidder) 1 year, 5 monthsago

@GruppeG the listing here doesn't mention a motor replacement.

  • Goldstein (registered bidder) 1 year, 5 monthsago

@GruppeG pcar does not allow you to post external links but if you google the vin the rennlist ad pops up and in the comments you can see information about the motor replacement. It will be the first link on google that pops up under a vin search. I am simply making potential buyers aware. It’s all public knowledge just as much as this auction is public

  • Robert718 (registered bidder) 1 year, 5 monthsago

    I agree with GruppeG
Goldstein Doesn’t even have “registered bidder” next to his name so I want to point that out to the class. If you have new information to bring to light then I feel it would be welcomed by the Pcar community. Otherwise there may be some “other” motive and I would respectfully ask that you let this one play out. I looked at this seller’s history and nothing bad comes up online and the listing does state / disclose the issues with the car. Let’s not give this any more light

  • PCARMARKET 1 year, 5 monthsago

@Goldstein we kindly ask that you do not post links to external sites on the comment section. Thank you.

  • Goldstein (registered bidder) 1 year, 5 monthsago

@gruppeg here is the link to the rennlist ad from a previous seller. I thought I added it to the first comment I posted my apologies however see below

  • GruppeG (registered bidder) 1 year, 5 monthsago

@Goldstein Heres where you loose me brother. Everything you stated you couldn't hold back in is noted in the listing. The only missing item is a link to Rennlist that nobody has posted and Im not sure anyone can. Regardless of that, unless theres proof of other undisclosed issues here, this just muddies the water. If it's your listing and this is posted with hours left in the sell, I'd like to think that might ruffle your feathers. Just seems again to be throwing dirt for the sake of throwing dirt. Cant be undone but just wow

  • Goldstein (registered bidder) 1 year, 5 monthsago

@GruppeG I did not see any knowledge of the motor replacement in the listing. To view what I wrote as vindictive is not it. Just simply expressing what was seen & we all know it’s still a solid car but I wanted to bring up 3 things I noticed that were originally not expressed on another listing. Doing it the final hours I can see the seller being mad but it’s something that I wasn’t just going to hold back on and it should be with full transparency from anyone that knows

  • GruppeG (registered bidder) 1 year, 5 monthsago

@Goldstein From what I can read here, the listing discloses the accidents and replacement motor. Along with info on the paint and paint readings as well. It just seems a bit vindictive to jump in and throw this into the comments just as the auction is set to end. In light of the sellers disclosure of the items you're stating now seem only to restate the obvious. One thing to enlighten the community when something isnt fully disclosed its another entirely to throw dirt for the sake or throwing dirt.

  • Goldstein (registered bidder) 1 year, 5 monthsago

@DriverM I was unaware of this auction as I have been away traveling and just noticed it today. As for your accusations about the seriousness of my friend wanting to buy the car. He was fully prepared to buy it assuming we didn’t learn about more issues. Your bat listing did not have knowledge of the second accident on the track which you have now shedded light on. & as for the motor let’s discount my words and your words but simply go to the old rennlist sale post for this same car from a previous owner. You can be angry and hostile but at the end of the day being on a public auction online you have to recognize things like these can happen. Nothing I said was to mislead a potential buyer or you as the seller. It is simply expressing the findings. Even on bat people asked me to shed the information I found but I held it in being that the auction ended. However now with it back on an auction platform I felt like the right things to do was say the information found

  • DriverM (seller) 1 year, 5 monthsago

@Goldstein Your chiming in at the end of an auction with negative comments and accusations is in HORRIBLY BAD taste.
I had moved the car from the back of my warehouse in order to make make it easier for you to see. Making it sound nefarious is totally out of line.
Furthermore, talking about what you own trying to sound like an authority only goes to show your insecurities and need for attention.
Coming in at the last hours of an auction like this is what makes the auction experience amazingly unpleasant!
You had a week to mention something but NO.........You wait for the final hours.
I made full disclose as to the condition of the car to the best of my knowledge. Unlike you with 2 Pcars, ( but still a SELF PROCLAIMED EXPERT! ) I currently own MANY and have to juggle lots of cars. I do my best.
You came fully prepared and knowing of this cars history yet you make it sound like you were surprised at the condition and your findings. I don't even believe you came prepared to buy a car but only to discredit one and try to build your reputation as a supposed expert.
I am sure the community will see you as who you truly are. Insecure and seeking attention. Well, you got it.............
I could go on and on but I will take a deep breath and be thankful that my time with inexperienced and inconsiderate people such as yourself is very limited.
You need to learn what is proper in a situation like this. Your only intention is to gain fame.

Just to make potential buyers aware of the true condition of this car I will shed some light so whoever does potentially bid or win this car understands things with full transparency. I viewed the car with a buddy in helping him with a potential purchase. I am an expert in both 996 & 997 gt cars and went along for the ride to assist after the car did not hit reserve on bat. Currently I own both 996 & 997 examples personally as well.

We arrived to the car being previously warmed up it did not have the cold start bark these cars are known for. The seller pulled the car outside where we went further into inspecting.

Immediately we noticed the accident or potentially undisclosed second accident had a very spotty repair in the engine bay above the motor. Noticeable overspray in the bay on the engine parts as well.

With that 90% of the car has been repainted at some point. Paint meter readings & particles under the clear showed this

To continue with oddities the seller claimed he was unaware of an engine replacement that occurred years ago. However all you have to do is type the vin on google and the rennlist ad will pop up from a previous owner being transparent.

The 3rd thing in question are the seats came out of an extended leather option car and are not original to this car.

I normally don’t like to give negative feedback on auctions but as I’m seeing this car again without a proper listing I feel it as my duty as being aware to let other potential buyers know.

Additionally I would add photos for proof if I could to this ad but please see this rennlist link for info about the motor replacement it is down in the comments by the seller. As for the paint & the overspray I have photos of both but again can’t upload to the ad. With that said this car is a true driver and I think it will find a home but I couldn’t have someone buy this and not be aware of the truths.

  • DriverM (seller) 1 year, 5 monthsago

Good luck to all. This is an exciting car that is a blast to drive. It is priced to sell and hopefully will find a new home at auctions end.
I just sent a few additional photos to Pcar that hopefully will help you envision yourself behind the wheel.
Please bid with confidence and OFTEN!!!!

  • GruppeG (registered bidder) 1 year, 6 monthsago

Surprised this hasn't moved to the 80k range already, a GT3 997 and no worries about keeping it perfect. Just drive and enjoy, if I wasnt sitting on my 997.1 Turbo I would consider this. Good luck to all, I'll be curious to see where this ends.

  • FourFourTwo 1 year, 6 monthsago

@jimdemar GR always has a hint of orange in the right light. More noticeable in the right light and next to another red, such as carmine.

  • DriverM (seller) 1 year, 6 monthsago

@sfer Yes. The coolant lines have been pinned.

  • sfer (registered bidder) 1 year, 6 monthsago

Have the coolant lines been addressed?

  • Nes (registered bidder) 1 year, 6 monthsago

    @luis.seneriz Excellent information. Thank you!

  • DriverM (seller) 1 year, 6 monthsago

@luis.seneriz I couldn’t agree more. Pcar makes that extra effort. A great bunch of people here.

  • luis.seneriz (registered bidder) 1 year, 6 monthsago

To whoever is interested in this car. Myself and a couple of friends have bought cars here. It is our experience that this site does a lot better job at negotiating with buyer and seller to try to sell the vehicle. I have personally been the highest bidder twice. Both times they tried to put us together, the second time I got my 03 turbo. So if you want the car bid with confidence, if you are at the top at the the end if the auction, the staff at pcarmarket will try hard to make it happen. GLWTS.

Is it my eyes or my computer monitor, but this GT3 looks Orange rather than Guards Red? Am I wrong?

  • DriverM (seller) 1 year, 6 monthsago

Can we confirm this is the same car that didn’t meet reserve on that other auction site recently? Sure seems that way.

If so, are we looking at a lower reserve this time?
