This launch-year Porsche 997 Turbo Coupe was presented to its original owner at the factory in Stuttgart through Porsche’s Tourist Delivery Program before it was first registered in California. Finished in GT Silver Metallic over Stone Grey full leather upholstery, this Turbo comes equipped with a 6-speed manual transmission, optional Adaptive Sport Seats, Silver seatbelts, a thickened leather steering wheel, rear center console in leather, and painted rocker panels.  Accompanied by comprehensive records showing a lifetime of service through Porsche Carlsbad, this 997 Turbo is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Idaho showing just over 44k miles on the odometer.

This Coupe is finished in GT Silver Metallic (U2) including exclusive painted rocker panels (XAJ). Other equipment includes red-painted brake calipers, model-specific bumpers with large air inlets, wide fenders with rear side air intakes, and a rear spoiler with speed-activated wing. The car rides on factory 19” 911 Turbo wheels dressed in Michelin Pilot Sport tires dated from 2020-2021. The seller notes some very minor signs of road-going wear to the front bumper cover and hood, detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.

The cabin is appointed with Stone Grey full leather upholstery including an optional thickened steering wheel, rear center console, and Adaptive Sport Seats complemented by Silver safety belts.  Other features include Porsche Communication Management (PCM), automatic climate control, heated front seats, a remote 6-disc CD changer, and Bose surround sound system.

The twin-turbocharged 3.6-liter flat-six Mezger engine produces 480 HP and 460 lb.-ft of torque, driving all four wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission. Acceleration from 0-60 MPH takes place in less than 4 seconds with a top speed of over 190 MPH. Aftermarket H&R springs provide a 1" lower ride height for improved handling and a more aggressive stance. The seller states the car was always dealer serviced at Hoehn Porsche of Carlsbad, California, including new tires, pressure monitoring sensors, a brake fluid flush, PCM rotary knobs, and a front lip spoiler installed in February 2021. The oil was changed in May of 2022 and a DME report is provided in the gallery along with corresponding records.

This sale will include a set of two keys, owner's manuals, service records, and a clean title (lien).

@nw997 every service record from new is included in this listing. The coolant pipes have not been pinned to my knowledge. In my due diligence in buying a 997 Turbo I spoke with several Porsche independent mechanics and race shops that I have come to know over the years.

In regard to the coolant pipe discussion, the consensus was that there is no reason to pin the coolant pipes on a street car unless one of the following has occurred:

    1. There are signs of an active coolant leak from the pipes
    2. The engine has been removed for a separate major service item and pipes are addressed as a preventative item “while you’re there”

In a situation pertaining to a track car, coolant pipes would be of concern due to the risk of a failure on track, which could be catastrophic as coolant is incredibly slippery.

This car has never been tracked, nor does it have any leaks whatsoever. Furthermore, from what I understand, the coolant pipes have affected a fairly small percentage of all Mezger cars of this era relative to their production numbers.

Beautiful 997. Has it had the major services (I haven’t thumbed through the pics so you may have shots in there)? Any chance it’s has the coolant pipes spot welded - common update to these motors but requires motor to be dropped so not a trivial expense. Great car.

@930flachbau thank you, sir! Both are fantastic cars in their own ways.

@TaylorSmith06 Wow! Nice presentation and documentation. 997 Turbo......in the Top 2 of 911 Turbo's. I agree with you on what is Numero-Uno. Good luck to you on your sale.

This just might be the cleanest 997 turbo I've seen in a long time. And I follow a lot of them. Best of luck on this sale, she's a beaut!

@696 @tonitone90 the previous high bidder on the other site could have owned the car for the same net amount after fees but decided that he was not prepared to buy a car at this time. The car is listed here and the reserve is less than before. I just broke my right collarbone and had surgery on Tuesday, so I can't even drive the car. If there is an individual on this site that actually wants to own a 997 Turbo and isn't just bidding for thrills, this will probably be the week they become an owner. Thanks.

@696 I could see that going in the same direction as the last time. Market seems to overall (not specifically this car) be softening. 2021 was a great year for these cars.

  • 696 (registered bidder) 1 year, 10 monthsago

Looks like a really nice car that’s in great shape, but it’s interesting that its so quickly back up for sale here after not selling on the other site. Maybe a different set of eyes will be on it this time, but I’d think the result would be about the same.

@tonitone90 the lowering springs are the only aftermarket parts on the car. The factory springs will be included as well. This car has never seen any track time. The DME report for this car is exceptional. I just had the oil changed in May of 2022 less than 100 miles ago. The car does not need anything. The Porsche dealer that I purchased the car from did a full service and inspection on the car less than 3,000 miles ago.

Hello all and welcome to the auction for my 997 Turbo. I wanted to take a moment to further detail the history of this car and have done so below.

As stated above, this car sold new via the Porsche Tourist Delivery program in Stuttgart. The original owner ordered the car through Hoehn Porsche of Carlsbad, California and took tourist delivery of the car in Stuttgart on February 23, 2007. Once state-side, this car remained in Southern California with its original owner until early 2021. All services performed on this car were handled at Hoehn Porsche since new and records are shown in the gallery. In January of 2021, after 14 years of ownership, the original owner traded this car back in to Hoehn Porsche for a new Turbo.

After 6 months of searching for a 6 speed manual 997 Turbo and viewing dozens of examples in that time, I found this car in early February 2021. I was incredbly impressed with this example because of its one owner history, extensive records and phenomenal condition. From the examples I viewed during my search, I felt that the conditon of this car was more consistent with 15-20k mile cars as the interior shows little to no wear in the bolsters, console, carpets, etc. I purchased the car from Hoehn Porsche on February 5, 2021 and Hoehn Porsche did a full Porsche used car inspection and service on the car prior to it shipping to me. This service consisted of a brake fluid flush, replacement of all four tires and TPMS sensors, replacement of the PCM rotary knobs and a new front plastic lip spoiler. The car was delivered to me via enclosed
transport on February 18, 2021 with 42,014 miles. When it arrived, I was absolutely floored by the car and could not have been happier with my experience with Hoehn Porsche.

It had always been a dream of mine to own a 911 Turbo, particularly a 930 Turbo. When it came down to finally buying a car, I decided that a 997 Turbo made the most sense as it is a better car than a 930 in every conceivable, measurable way and typically for a lower cost of entry.

All of that said, five months later in July of 2021 an opportunity arose to purchase a 31k original mile silver over black 1987 930 that I had been chasing for about 7 years. I could not let the 930 slip through my fingers after knowing about it for such a long time, and ended up buying that car as well.

I have thoroughly enjoyed owning both cars and it has been so fun to experience two different generations of 911 Turbos at once, however
I have decided to let the 997 go as I just have too much going on in life to keep them both. With a wife and 2 small kids, my garage full of essentially two seater cars isnt making much sense anymore.

Please feel free to ask any questions you may have about this car here in the comments or use the contact seller button to contact me directly.
