Introduced for the 2007 model year, the 997-generation Porsche 911 Turbo debuted with a venerable Mezger flat-six engine and new Variable Turbine Geometry (VTG) turbochargers. Featuring a desirable 6-speed manual transmission, this inaugural-year example is finished in Meteor Grey Metallic over a Black full leather interior. It features optional painted front air intakes, heated front seats, the Carbon Package, the Sport Chrono Package, and some tasteful modifications. Acquired by the seller in 2012 at approximately 25k miles, this Turbo is now being offered for auction out of California with less than 34k miles showing on the odometer.
This example is finished in Meteor Grey Metallic with an optional rear window wiper and painted front air intakes. Modifications include a carbon fiber front splitter, painted GT2-style side skirts, a carbon fiber rear bumper extension, and BC Racing forged 19″ wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport tires from 2019 reported to have ample tread remaining. The seller notes that all panels, except for the rear left and right sides as well as the engine lid, are protected by XPEL Ultimate Plus paint protection film, while the windshield is covered with ClearPlex film. Minor road wear is indicated, including a small imperfection to the left of the license plate and a few light marks on the hood. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The cabin presents Black full leather upholstery complemented by the optional Carbon Package and interior-colored floor mats. Additional options include heated front seats, Porsche-crested headrests, a remote 6-disc CD changer, illuminated stainless steel door entry guards, and a Sport Chrono stopwatch dial. The factory steering wheel has been modified with a flat bottom and thicker leather. Slight wear is noted on the seat bolsters and door sills. All gauges and electronics are confirmed to be in proper working order.
Powered by a twin-turbocharged 3.6-liter Mezger flat-six engine, the 997 Turbo sends up to 480 HP and 460 lb.-ft. of torque to all four wheels by way of a 6-speed manual transmission. Acceleration from 0-60 MPH is achieved in under 4 seconds, with a top speed exceeding 190 MPH. The optional Sport Chrono Package enables temporary overboost of up to 10 seconds for an increased peak torque rated at 505 lb.-ft. The seller adds that GMG Racing springs and a Europipe exhaust have been fitted, while the original exhaust will accompany the sale.
This sale will include a clean title, owner’s manuals, a window sticker, a car cover, a battery charger, and the original exhaust.
The seller would like you to know: “I am a true car enthusiast like many here. I'm also a buy and hold car guy, I've had this Turbo for nearly 13 years and have taken care of it, never abused on the road. After 13 years, it's time for a change and for my Turbo to go to a new enthusiast who will enjoy it as much as I have!”

@PorscheCW2 Congrats! I'm gonna be honest, it's a little bitter sweet for me to see this leave but it sounds like it's going to a good home, very happy for you!
I just got your info from Pcar, I'll shoot you an email now.
woohoo! I am so excited! I can't wait to bring this home and drive it! I've been missing my 997 ever since I sold it years ago. She will be welcome with open arms with our 991.1 GT3 and the Macan Turbo.
Shout out to the seller for being so detailed. You know it's clean when it's owned by an engineer. :)
Great buy @PorscheCW2! Enjoy, looks like an awesome 997TT!

Bulletproof motor, not black or silver paint, tasteful mods, active seller. This is an absolute bargain. Only improvements would be pinned lines and the DSC sport controller, and lines aren’t really an issue unless it’s tracked. Good luck
@angutierrez Hi,80% of the car is covered in Xpel so I don’t think paint readings work well over the PPF. From memory when the car underwent paint correction the paint readings were around 100 microns I think, but that was about 10 years ago. It hasn’t been polished since and still nearly no noticeable swirls (I wash the car with deionized water and never wipe it down when dirty)
Regarding maintenance, I believe spark plugs are due every 40K miles (last changed at 24K miles), the spoiler works properly, no oil leaks. You can see in the pictures I posted of the undercarriage showing the engine that it’s bone dry on the outside. No signs of any leaks and I’ve never seen a drop on the garage floor. I hope this helps.
Hi, I am interested in bidding but trying to understanding upcoming maintenance costs Do you have any paint meter readings? Is the rear spoiler hydraulics showing any issues? Slow to extend/retract? oil leak signs?
Bid in the amount of $85,250
@SRLang the first service record shown in the pics is from previous owner, and the service performed in 2012 at the dealership was routine scheduled service for new spark plugs etc. I also included my personal service tracker during my 13 years of ownership (~9K miles) which only required annual oil filter changes using porsche filters and mobile one oil, as well as the periodic brake fluid flush, cabin and air filter changes (using Porsche oem parts).
Are the service records shown in the pictures the entirety of what you have during your ownership? Do you have the service records of the prior owner?
@idlook2 the pipes have not been welded or pinned. I have never had a leak or added any coolant, the coolant level has always been steady between the min/max lines during my ownership. hope this helps
Have the coolant pipes been welded or pinned? Any leaks?
@fbdyvan comes with 2 keys. I haven’t used the second key in 10 years so may need to be charged. If I recall correctly The GMG springs are about 0.5”-0.75” lower than stock.
@Art997Turbo Does the car only come with one key? How much lower is the car with the aftermarket springs?
@Art997Turbo ty Sir :)
@Dirtyfox Hi, no dash lights and the tpms is working (Only time I’ve had them come on is if the temps have dropped a lot or they need to be replaced). The steering wheel is the original OEM wheel, it’s just been customized with thicker leather and flat bottom. Rear spoiler works and the brakes/rotors are good (they work the Same as when I bought the car)
Hi any dash lights coming on with the change of wheels, tire pressure etc and do you have the original steering wheel any issues with the rear spoiler operation and how are the break/rotor condition. ty GLWS
@Art997Turbo Thank you for confirming.
@titans99 and for that reason I'm out
@fbdyvan 100% CARB complaint. I’ve had the Europipe on the car since 2013 and its passed CA SMOG all 6 times. It has cats and O2 sensors, it sound deeper, more free flowing so the turbos spool up faster (less turbo lag) and no drone in the cabin!
Hi @art997turbo - Is the aftermarket exhaust CARB compliant and pass emissions tests or do you need to swap back to the factory exhaust? Thanks in advance.
@Art997Turbo there are several readily available diagnostic tools that allow a DME on a 997 without dealer involvement. It may be too late now, but would have definitely provided a significant return on this auction if done sooner. Unless the DME is negative…. I guess we will never know.
@iamkhanz Hi, I don't have that. I did a quick google search and looks like I'd have to take it to the dealership to download that info.
Art997Turbo, Can you share current DME report on the vehicle? Thank you

@Ghstml wow congrats! 997.1 GT3 is an all time classic. Enjoy the new ride!
@Havenz911 thank you! Really gonna be tough to see this one leave the stable after 13 years but hoping it goes to a good home and the new owner gets to enjoy it :)
GLWS! I was going to take this one all the way to the end but I just messed around and bought a 997.1 GT3 this morning. Not a better 997 turbo manual on the west coast rn in my opinion. Hope this one stays out west!
Bid in the amount of $81,000
I’m very impressed with both this cars condition and the Sellers engagement. I don’t think there’s a better opportunity on a used Mezger than to purchase from an engaged enthusiast. I’m one - not as capable as enthusiastic, but still I know how I pour over my cars.
Really nice color, like the carbon package not just good looking but preserves all the high tough items. 997.1 is not as rude (compliment) as the 996TT and won’t give you vertigo from straight line speed as bad as the 997.2’s.
Feels like the buyer will do well here.
@Sylverlee they are not

@idlook2 good question. When I bought the car in 2012 it had partial PPF on the front. It was older 3M I believe. Shortly afterwards I had it removed and the entire car professionally detailed by Bob Willis in the Bay Area (he's the paint correction guru in northern california, uses detailed paint meter readings to make sure he polishes just microns off the top). After Bob did his magic I had the front fully wrapped with Xpel, then a few years later I decided to do additional parts including the doors, rear bumper etc. There's literally almost no swirls in the paint that I can see, even in the harshest LED lighting in my garage.
I took some pics of the most noticeable road rash (note that the quarter is sitting on the Xpel not the paint), it's very minor and the worst one is shown on the roof line which was before the Xpel, and honestly you have to hunt to find these spots. The GT2 side skirts have always had PPF so any spots there are in the Xpel, and any minor spots on the windshield are in the Clearplex NOT the glass. Hope this helps

@mosafari3 that was a dead battery, I hadn't been using a charger and the battery died. I dropped in a new battery but had not driven it enough to reset all the sensors so at SMOG a couple of the sensor were "not ready". I had to drive another 50-60 miles before all the sensors were ready for SMOG check.
As you can tell from the mileage I've driven less than 1000 miles per year on average so the battery has died one other time in the past 5 years, even on charger (the cigarette chargers aren't as good as the ones that connect to the battery). So for the past couple of years I just disconnect the battery if I know the car is going to sit for a month. Hope this helps
@Art997Turbo Thank you for taking the time to explain everything in such detail—I truly appreciate it. I completely understand and agree with everything you mentioned. However, I noticed that the vehicle failed its emissions inspection in June 2014. What measures did you take to address and resolve that issue? Anytime a vehicle fails an emissions inspection, it concerns me that it could potentially indicate an engine or transmission issue. that again I could be wrong, there is so much more to it.
@mosafari3 that's correct (with the exception of a minor recall notice in 2014 which was done at Porsche dealership). the 2012 service at the dealership replaced the spark plugs etc and since then I have driven the car approximately 9K miles which has only required annual oil change and periodic brake fluid flush, cabin filter and air filter change.
I have a hydraulic lift at home and do the routine maintenance on my turbo, lambo and cobra. Oil & filter changes on the 997 are extremely easy, I have only ever used the OEM Porsche filter from the dealership and the recommended mobil one engine oil and porsche brake fluid etc. I'm an engineer and comfortable completing these minor service, and I've read horror stories on the forums of junior techs at dealerships overfilling the oil level because they forgot to drain BOTH oil plugs resulting in engine damage! I've always thought why take the risk when I have the tools and capable of doing something simple like this myself, and I find it satisfying LOL :)
To confirm, am I understanding this correctly? The last time the vehicle was taken to a Porsche dealership for maintenance was in 2012, and since then, the owner has been performing oil and filter changes at home?
Bid in the amount of $52,000
Awesome car! IMO, a DME report on one of these is essential as a buyer, and should have high ROI for the seller. GLWS! I'll be keeping an eye on this one.
Bid in the amount of $50,000
@mpmotorsports I just uploaded a new photo showing which parts are not covered in Xpel. Basically the rear of the car is not covered except for the rear bumper which has Xpel to protect against the road rash from rear tires.
The car is stock, no tune. The Europipe Exhaust has cats and O2 sensors and passes emissions here in CA. I don't have a DME read out
@BigBooter Thank you! going to miss this car

The expel explanation is terrible. Can you explain what is covered? Also, do you have a DME report? Is the car tuned?
Beautiful car! Best of luck with the auction!

@id37833 I sold the stock wheels about 10 years ago, they were taking up too much room in the garage.
the original stock exhaust and OEM GT2 painted front splitter are included.
Does the car come with the stock wheels as well ?
