Available for auction at no reserve is this 2007 Porsche 997 Carrera S Coupe presented in Arctic Silver Metallic over a black leather interior.  Highlighting noteworthy details such as Fabspeed exhaust system and a 6-speed manual transmission, this 997 coupe is ideal for the prospective sports car enthusiast.  Showing approximately 69k-miles on the odometer, this 911 is being offered by the selling dealer located in New Jersey.

This example is finished in Arctic Silver Metallic and the seller states it to be in excellent condition, especially when considering the age and mileage.  Although it was not spec'd from the factory, the seller states that the car is equipped with what appears to be a factory Aero Kit that is assumed was dealer installed (professionally).   Detailed images are available in the photo gallery along with recent paint meter readings.  A minor parking lot incident brought about a respray of the front bumper (receipts can be viewed in the gallery), and the rear bumper was repaired under previous ownership. The car wears powder coated 19” Porsche Lobster Claw wheels. The wheels are wrapped in Pirelli P-zero tires with good tread showing production dates of May 2017 for the front and August 2018 for the rear.

Inside, the black leather interior is said to be in great overall condition and features options such as heated seats, power seats, a Bose premium sound system and navigation system.  All features and accessories are stated to be in working order.

Power comes from a 3.8L flat-six engine that is capable of producing 355 HP.  The rear wheels are driven by way of a 6-speed manual transmission which allows this coupe to accelerate from 0-60 MPH in approximately 4.6 seconds according to Porsche. Performance upgrades include a Fabspeed exhaust system and cold air intake.  A major service was carried out in 2018 and the car is currently up to date with a more recent service including a new starter motor and positive battery cable.

Included in this sale are 2 sets of keys, original books, toolkit, and some maintenance invoices. If you are in search of a tastefully appointed 997 S, this example makes an excellent choice

I installed the Fab Speed Cold Air Return Kit on my 2005 Carrera S and it was great !
Really made a big difference in engine sound, especially on acceleration, and also increased HP a bit as well. Plus it looks cool !
    Nice looking Porsche !

I’ve been staring at this car all day wondering if i have the courage to push my wife’s car outside and have this to accompany my gt4. I miss my 997 i regret selling her every time i see a 997. The whole look of this car just completes it especially the aerokit??. This is tempting. Also shout out to the seller. I love no reserve no funny games no surprises it sells !! Might need a divorce lawyer if i jump in lollll

@Ambassador-Auto You can’t replace the IMS bearing on a 2005-1/2 to 2009. To be clear, you can but it’s a complete motor tear down. Good news,
It’s not very common on these years for a bad IMS on this motor..

@JRo83 when a customer has contracted for a PPI and that was part of their request, I had no issues having it done. Other than that, I haven’t.

  • JRo83 (registered bidder) 3 yearsago

@Ambassador-Auto Have you scoped any of your cars?

@JRo83 Thanks for reaching out. I don't have any bore score pictures and have not done a bore scope for this car. I know there is lots of chatter about it online but never have experienced an issue with any of the 997's that I have owned so I really don't have an opinion on the matter.

  • JRo83 (registered bidder) 3 yearsago

@Ambassador-Auto, someone touched on bore scoring in an earlier comment. Do you have any perspective on that for this car specifically? Has the car been scoped and do you have photos? Beautiful car! Thank you.

@Bahnburner yes, it appears the stock cats are in place. I would assume it should pass a smog test. When it came up from Texas this past fall, it had a valid Texas inspection sticker.

  • Bahnburner (registered bidder) 3 yearsago

Stock cats are still in place? So should be no issue in passing smog tests?

  • Ambassador-Auto (seller) 3 yearsago

@CBRacerX unfortunately, I do not think there will be time to get another report prior to the auction closing. There have been very few miles put on the car since August of 2020 and it did not see a track event or much driving over the winter.

  • Ambassador-Auto (seller) 3 yearsago

@CBRacerX from what I was told the aero kit was already on the car. The accident only caused paint damage on the front and rear bumpers. The rear bumper was repaired when it happened and the front was so minor it was only just repaired this past January. Please see invoice in the gallery.

  • Ambassador-Auto (seller) 3 yearsago

To all, here is a short article on the IMS Bearing issue from well known Porsche enthusiast and respected shop. There are really no issues to be concerned about in the 2007 model year.

I wonder if the accident in 2013 provided the “opportunity” to install the Aero Kit. The DME overrev report is from August 2020 - can the seller provide a current report?

  • CBRacerX (registered bidder) 3 yearsago

@luis. seneriz Any 997.1 is susceptible to bore scoring and visual inspection of the cylinders is a very worthwhile step to take. The IMS still exists on the 2007 M97 engine but is captured in the case so that servicing it is an expensive (case splitting required) undertaking. The incidence of IMS failure in these “later” 997.1 cars is low but not zero. The bigger concern with the engine is bore scoring,

  • Ambassador-Auto (seller) 3 yearsago

@raider89 Yes, all the electronics are functioning as they should. Everything works.

  • Ambassador-Auto (seller) 3 yearsago

@raider89 The wheels are in excellent condition with no curb rash. The were just powder coated in January of this year. Just a reflection.

  • raider89 (registered bidder) 3 yearsago

What is the condition of the powder coated wheels. Photo 56 appears to show scratches, not sure if curb rash, or just dirt and photo reflection. Are all 4 wheels still in polished condition?

  • raider89 (registered bidder) 3 yearsago

Are all the electronics fully functioning: CD player, Nav, seat functions, TPMS, etc?

  • Ambassador-Auto (seller) 3 yearsago

@raider89 The IMS Bearing issues ended in model year 2005 which was the first year of production of the 997. It ended mid year through that model year. 2007 997 models are not affected.

  • Ambassador-Auto (seller) 3 yearsago

@springer3 Unfortunately, I do not have the original Air Intake.

  • Ambassador-Auto (seller) 3 yearsago

@luis.seneriz Thanks for reaching out. The 2007 997 does not have an IMS Bearing issue. That ended in model year 2005 midway through production.

  • raider89 (registered bidder) 3 yearsago

Please clarify about IMS bearing. Did this engine and/or model have the concerning IMS bearing issues? If so, has this car been serviced with newer better aftermarket bearing?

  • springer3 (registered bidder) 3 yearsago

Is the original air intake system available?

  • luis.seneriz (registered bidder) 3 yearsago

Not certain if this model year still had issues with IMS and bore scoring?? Has anything of this been look at? Any info will be appreciated.

@kevintho911 i agree. I had it in a targa and it’s never once was used.

  • kevintho911 (registered bidder) 3 yearsago

@Aiello11 And actually its only the performance software (and Sport button) that's desired. I find the chronograph itself to be cumbersome to use - pretty much just an ornament.

  • kevintho911 (registered bidder) 3 yearsago

@Aiello11 Thanks for the tip and for the link. Agree $895 not bad for Porsche world.

  • Aiello11 (registered bidder) 3 yearsago

@kevintho911 seeing a few at auction lately without. But it’s pretty cheap to add years ago i had a base cayman and added the sprint booster in leu of the sport chrono was night and day and cheap. But for that factory look 895 in Porsche world is not bad https://www.suncoastparts.com/product/9X7SM.html

  • kevintho911 (registered bidder) 3 yearsago

Very tempting. Wishing it had the Sport Chronograph Package and accompanying sport button. Good luck with the auction.
