  • Lot #: V-0035137

The 997-generation Porsche 911 Turbo was introduced for the 2007 model year featuring the venerable Mezger flat-six engine paired with new Variable Turbine Geometry (VTG) turbochargers. This launch-year example comes finished in Speed Yellow over a black full leather interior with optional deviated stitching, extended leather trim, carbon fiber inlays, and body-colored accents. It was also specified with ceramic brakes (PCCB), the Sport Chrono Package, a rear differential lock, and a 6-speed manual transmission. Previously listed on PCARMARKET, this Turbo has resided on the West Coast since 2007 and is now being offered for auction out of Texas with approximately 29k miles on the odometer.

One of the most iconic Porsche colors of all, this 997 comes finished in Speed Yellow with matching brake calipers, optional painted side skirts, and a lower rear apron. The 997 Turbo includes wider bodywork than a contemporary Carrera model and features integrated side air intakes, unique bumpers, and a speed-activated spoiler wing. This example has been lowered on aftermarket springs and rides on factory 19” 911 Turbo wheels dressed in new Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires. Upon the seller's acquisition less than one year ago, paint protection film was applied to the doors and front end along with a paint correction. Limited track use and minor signs of road wear are noted, detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.

The black full leather interior is accented by deviated stitching in Speed Yellow along with matching seatbelts and painted Sport Seat backrests. Other options include the Carbon Package, illuminated door sill guards in stainless steel, Porsche crested headrests, a multifunction carbon fiber steering wheel, heated front seats, and a Porsche-crested storage bin lid. Additional leather trim also covers the rear center console, PCM Package, gear lever, seatbelt buckles, and belt outlet B-pillars.

A twin-turbocharged 3.6-liter Mezger flat-six engine produces up to 480 HP and drives all four wheels by way of a 6-speed manual transmission. The optional Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB) provide excellent fade-resistant stopping power while saving 37 lbs. compared to the standard braking system. The optional Sport Chrono Package also enables a temporary period of overboost for increased peak torque. An aftermarket intake and exhaust system are said to have been installed under previous ownership, and the seller adds that all fluids have been checked and an oil change was carried out by MooreSpeed of Texas upon their acquisition. No outstanding maintenance items have been reported, and all available maintenance history is provided on the CARFAX report.

This sale will include a clean title.

The seller would like you to know: "I bought this car less than a year ago. I have a thing for the 997 turbo. The car is a great driver's car. No issues at all. My collection has outgrown my storage space. I hate to see it go but have 2 others. Great car with a great color combo!"

    but no repaint.

@Thetexican - I’m not seeing any receipts here. Was PPF applied to the rear quarter panels in addition to the front end and doors?

  • Thetexican (seller) 6 monthsago

@sunghyun7 no. But as stated by a previous user they have plenty left in them. I was told those are 50-60k tors depending on how the car was driven. Previous DME doesn't show the car appeared to be track used. Daily driving is fairly gentle on PCB.

  • zacharyshea (registered bidder) 6 monthsago

This is a beautiful example of a very nice low mileage speed yellow 997 tt. I don't have any issues with an after market exhaust. Just stating the fact here. Good luck to the seller and the bidders. This one should do well.

  • Thetexican (seller) 6 monthsago

@luis.seneriz I mean it was gone through completely when I bought it. fresh oil, new tires, trickle charger, and I believe it also has a new battery.

I am a proponent of a once a year oil change no matter milage.

I try to drive them as much as I can. My 22 gt3 touring is getting most of my attention right now though.

  • luis.seneriz (registered bidder) 6 monthsago

@Thethexican. As someone commented here the exhaust on this car doesn’t look stock. Not a problem for me. Any particular maintenance item that you think should be addressed. I drive my cars, I just don’t park them in a garage. I’m in Katy, west Houston, so maybe I can keep this beauty in Texas. My 03 turbo that I bought here last year is sitting at 650 horsepower and I’m not done with it yet. GLWTS.

  • Thetexican (seller) 6 monthsago

it might. I would assume done by shark werks. Not by me so I dont have any info. It doesnt sound too aggressive or obnoxious is why I wasn't sure.

  • zacharyshea (registered bidder) 6 monthsago

A puff of smoke when starting cold and/or warm on any of the boxer mezger engine is normal when the oil is filled to the top (full). Many of you ask and look for that on a cold start. It also happens on a warm start. Many cold starts on these auctions do not show a puff of white smoke is because most of the experienced Porsche owners know not to fill the oil full but about half or lower in between the full and low so when they do a cold start video, it will not show a puff of white smoke. Hopefully many of you will give that a try when you do your next oil change or ask about it with your mechanic/technician.

Thetexican is a friend and I've been in this car a few times. Its gorgeous and shows even better in person. The paint is exceptional.

He's being modest in the comments -- he has a thing for rare specs and maintains his cars with an open checkbook. Whenever he buys a car he always gets anything/everything addressed mechanically and then paint corrected before PPF. Can bid with confidence as he's as honest as they get.

@Maxoverdrive thank you for that. Moorespeed of Austin also went through the engine after I received it. I had the car cleaned a few times but didn’t rack it and wash the under side.

  • Maxoverdrive (registered bidder) 6 months, 1 weekago

Great presentation and fast, helpful responses from seller. For any questions on the undercarriage of vehicle; look up the old listing. The engine looks identical to when Grand Prix Motors had the car. And I can assure you they checked out from top to bottom.
Appears to be a great and rare find here. GLWA.

  • Thetexican (seller) 6 months, 1 weekago

@sunghyun7 I don’t know that the car has had the under carriage cleaned in a while. Not since I got it and not sure before that. Could just be build up for a while. I had the car fully gone through when I bought it. There were no reported issues. I am taking it to Moore speed today to have it checked.

I do know there are some issues occasionally with the way the engine is oriented being a flat 6. I’ve had it explained to me a few times but can’t remember it all. Both this car and my other 997 turbo sometimes make a puff of white smoke when being started. I’ve had them checked for leaks multiple times and been told if they sit long enough the oil pools up and it does that.

  • sunghyun7 (registered bidder) 6 months, 1 weekago

    thanks for fast response.

I was referring to pic #66. the darker areas where the dirt is stuck on is due to oil. if you run your finger over them you'll feel it. Would be nice if you can track where they originated. if you have zero drip on floor it may be slow enough so it doesnt matter

  • Thetexican (seller) 6 months, 1 weekago

@sunghyun7 I’m not seeing where you’re referring to ‘wet with oil’ I’ll have it looked at but no leaks.

I believe the coolant pipes were addressed. I don’t have a full service history on the car. I only know what I’ve done. The shop where I took it said it’s in great shape. I’ve had zero issues.

I can’t tell if it was tuned or not. I have no way of knowing. I know suspension and shark Werks intake is all I know. No on brakes but they’re fine. You can definitely tell the difference going from steel to ceramic. I’ve been told those pads can last 50k-+ miles without a lot of track driving.

  • sunghyun7 (registered bidder) 6 months, 1 weekago

were the coolant pipes and/or cam's pinned? was the engine tuned? other than the intake, and maybe lowering springs? what other mods are there? and did you get a chance to measure thickness of the ceramic rotors? sorry for last min questions.

  • jcbarrios2003 (registered bidder) 6 months, 1 weekago

@Seller, thank you for the prompt response

  • sunghyun7 (registered bidder) 6 months, 1 weekago

how bad is the leak at the engine? the entire bottom of the engine is wet with oil.

  • Thetexican (seller) 6 months, 1 weekago

@jcbarrios2003 it’s just road debris. I just went and wiped it off. I drove it home after I washed it.

It’s the lighting. It’s an indention but not a rip.

  • jcbarrios2003 (registered bidder) 6 months, 1 weekago

@seller please see below a couple of questions
Picture #34 shows a lot of rock chips on rear left body panel, is this accurate or is it debris that can be removed?
Picture #60 shows a rip on rear left seat. Is this accurate?
    Thanks,

@twinvipers I have to find someone to do it. Working on it. All indications and two highly knowledgeable paint people say no. The paint correction guy spent 3 full days on the car. He’s told me when I have a car with paint issues. He said the paint was very clean.

I have another auction going on that had paint issues. I had it repainted to fix the issues.

This car is very very clean.

  • twinvipers (registered bidder) 6 months, 1 weekago

Guess I'm not getting my answers. Seems like ppf is the new way to say "I can't tell if the car was painted"

  • Thetexican (seller) 6 months, 1 weekago

    @jcbarrios2003 no.

  • jcbarrios2003 (registered bidder) 6 months, 1 weekago

@Seller any accidents or paint in any body panels?

  • twinvipers (registered bidder) 6 months, 1 weekago

Paint meter will work on all panels without ppf. The panels with ppf will still read consistent with eachother if original paint also.

  • Thetexican (seller) 6 months, 1 weekago

@Thetexican I had paint correction done by @tomato_werks (ig) after I bought the car. He said the paint was great. He’s done all of my cars. He can tell when there are issues. I had ppf done immediately after he finished.

  • Thetexican (seller) 6 months, 1 weekago

@twinvipers I’ll see about dme. Paint meter won’t help as car has 8 mil ppf across front half and doors.

  • twinvipers (registered bidder) 6 months, 1 weekago

    DME report? Paint meter readings?

  • Barbasharku (registered bidder) 6 months, 1 weekago

@eshaile I don’t think any before me. I took it out for a fun drive on COTA here in Austin. I think I did about 10-12 laps. I’d say minimal.

How much track time on the car?

  • Rayien (registered bidder) 6 months, 1 weekago

Beautiful spec. Speed yellow, pccb, deviated stitching. What else could you ask for in a 6spd?

  • Thetexican (seller) 6 months, 1 weekago

Thanks for looking. 1 thing to note is the splitter is missing from the under side of front bumper. I had to take it off to get in my drive way. It will be installed prior to sale.
