Finished in Black over a matching full leather interior, this 2007 Porsche 997 Turbo Coupe has been modified with TechArt’s GTstreet R package which includes an aerodynamic carbon fiber bodykit, 20” TechArt wheels, Fabspeed exhaust headers, an ECU tune, upgraded VTG turbochargers, Manthey Racing intercoolers, Forge Motorsport billet diverter valves, an IPD intake plenum, a GT3 throttle body, and IPD high-flow Y-pipe, and an upgraded Tiptronic S automatic transmission. The car also features a custom JL Audio sound system, optional supple leather seats, Porsche crested headrests, and Sport Chrono Package Turbo. Said to have been originally owned by MLB pitcher Justin Verlander, it spent most of its life in Florida before moving to California with its second owner. This TechArt-modified 997 Turbo is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Iowa with approximately 35k miles on the odometer.
This 997 has been fitted with a TechArt GTstreet R bodykit which includes a vented carbon fiber hood, bumpers, fenders, a front spoiler, a rear wing, a rear diffuser, side skirts, a roof spoiler, and an underbody tray. It rides on 20” TechArt Formula GT Street wheels in black. Other equipment includes tinted taillights, black headlight rings, LED daytime running lights, black TechArt exhaust tips, red brake calipers, clear side marker lenses, a rear window wiper, and carbon fiber housing mirror inserts. The seller notes the bodykit is painted to match the car’s original Black color and the exterior has been professionally polished and waxed in preparation for the sale. Some light road wear is noted on the front end as well as a minor imperfection on one of the rear wheels. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
Inside, this Turbo is appointed with a Black full leather interior including optional supple leather seats and Porsche-crested headrests. Other factory features include heated and power-operated front seats, a three-spoke steering wheel with Tiptronic shift buttons, automatic climate control, an electric sunroof, a Sport Chrono stopwatch, and Porsche Communication Management (PCM). A custom JL Audio sound system has been installed along with a custom interior panel that shows "GT Street R" badging. The seller notes the climate control buttons are worn, although new buttons will be provided to the next owner for replacement.
This Turbo is equipped with a twin-turbocharged 3.6-liter Mezger flat-six engine rated at 480 HP and 460 lb.-ft of torque stock. All four wheels are driven by way of a TechArt-upgraded 5-speed Tiptronic S automatic transmission. The GTstreet R package includes the TechArt TA097/T3 performance kit which advertises an output of up to 660 HP with the installation of upgraded KKK VTG turbochargers, an ECU tune, Fabspeed headers, Manthey Racing intercoolers, Forge Motorsport billet diverter valves, an IPD competition intake plenum, an 82mm GT3 throttle body, an IPD high-flow Y-pipe, new fuel injectors, and spark plugs. The seller adds that the car was recently serviced and there are no outstanding maintenance items.
This sale will include owner’s manuals, a toolkit, some documentation, and a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: “This TechArt GTstreet R has been thoughtfully customized to create a Turbo that stands out from anything else on the road. It has the presence of a GT3RS with the power to back it. Over $200,000 was invested with TechArt to create this car, there is not another like it! Bid with confidence, this one is sure to please.”

I just put up some photos of the underside of the engine I took with my phone. Do not hold it against me, I am no professional photographer lol. Hopefully Pcar can get those up asap for me.
Thanks
Bid in the amount of $55,000
@dukeyr I can try to get some uploaded quick, unfortunately with the snow situation I am going to have to do it from the ground. The underside is in good shape!
@rakingllc We got it out of California on trade last month, the car has not seen any inclement weather while in Iowa , and is stored in a heated showroom!
Bid in the amount of $51,000
Hawk, how long has the vehicle been in Iowa and roughly percentage of miles driven in Iowa as well?
targahawk
are there no chassis/undercarriage/exhaust pics or am i just missing them?
thanks
@MurderMammoth I welcome any question, and are happy to answer to the best of my ability. No issue at all!
@targahawk Thank you once again. Hopefully you view my questions as legitimate and receive them well?
@MurderMammoth to my knowledge it was done in 2008 when the vehicle was basically new. I called the Porsche dealer that serviced it at that time, and they told me that they always knew it as the TechArt, rather than a standard Turbo. I do not have record of the shop that performed the work, as it isn't listed on the Carfax. I have the owners manual, but no further documentation of the shop that performed the work, unfortunately.
@targahawk By chance, do you happen to know when the build was done (year and mileage)?
Bid in the amount of $49,911
As we begin the last few hours of the auction please let me know if there is anything else I can help answer for you guys. This car is a very quality and unique build, you will not find another like it! Best of luck everyone!

@targahawk Thank you!
@MurderMammoth I have paint meters submitted to P-car so they can put them up. The roof and doors are original paint, the rear quarters have been blended since the new panel was added during the build!
@targahawk possible to get paint meter readings?
Bid in the amount of $40,000
@lcaofq151va15df14 I do not have a dyno for the car. With the listed upgrades power is roughly 660 horsepower, per TechArt.
Beautiful build! With all the performance work, what has the car been dynoed at?
Bid in the amount of $30,000
@targahawk - Absolutely no question the tiptronic shifts are smooth and quick. It’s just my personal preference to have manuals for all my fun cars. This build is absolutely epic!!
The next owner will have no regrets when they get behind the wheel of this!
@Chi_PT the upgraded Tiptronic in this car shifts fast and smooth, much different than a stock transmission. It handles the power extremely well and is more reminiscent of the PDK shift.
Good morning everyone, thank you all for the early bids and interest in the GT Street R!
@PhantomU It is not PPF'd or ceramic coated. We gave it a polish and wax which really makes the paint stand tall, but havent put any protective coatings over it.
@MurderMammoth I do not have the records, the information I am using is based off of the TechArt Program that originally would have been used to pick which upgrades were made, and their cost. As well, it sold at Russo and Steele in 2017 where they also stated the same thing.
Is it protected with PPF and Ceramic coating?
@targahawk Do you have receipts documenting the $200,000 invested in upgrades? Thank you in advance and GLWTA.
@ Chi_PT: Think of it this way: if you live in a speed limited country, it accelerates faster than a manual. Plus your wife can drive you home from the pub. 🙂
Bid in the amount of $25,000
Damn Automatic! This would be perfect in an manual!
