Up for auction is this 2007 997.1 GT3 RS.  Being one of only 1,106 examples built while retaining the legendary Mezger engien, this 911 is among the most-rare Porsche models.  This car was purchased by the current owner in 2008 from Porsche of North Scottsdale as a CPO.  It has been enjoyed and well maintained since, showing approximately 30k miles on the odometer. As previously listed on PCARMARKET, this GT3 RS is being offered in excellent condition out of a collection in Arizona with a clean DME report.

This 911 is presented in Jet Black with iconic Orange accenting.  The exterior is stated to be in excellent condition with some rock chips noted on the front end.  The seller notes that a brand-new chin spoiler has been recently installed.  Detailed exterior images along with paint meter readings are available in the photo gallery.  Clear paint protection film covers the entire front end including the headlights, full hood, front fenders, bumper, and side mirrors.  This RS rides on factory 19" Orange GT3 wheels that wear a set of newer Michelin Pilot Sport tires.

The black interior also shows to be in excellent condition.  The $133k MSRP speaks for itself with options such Porsche Carbon Ceramic Brakes (PCCB), Bi-Xenon headlights, and an aluminum foot rest.  The seller took the liberty of installing an OEM Euro-spec roll bar that fits perfectly behind the black leather seats.  All gauges and accessories are stated to be in excellent working order.

This GT3 RS is powered by the legendary flat-six Mezger engine which produces 415HP at 7,600 rpm, and 300 ft-lb of torque. This GT3 RS capable of reaching 60 mph in a blazing 4.1 seconds.  The seller states that the engine performs like new, and all service is up-to-date thanks to Porsche of North Scottsdale. This example has attended a few track charity events as well as a couple of local road rallies.

The sale will include two keys, books, records, tools, and a clean Carfax report.

@Jeffe2020 While the car was sold by Porsche North Scottsdale as a CPO unit in 2008, our client purchased the car in March 2014 with 13K miles and has been the sole owner since. (I believe that when PCAR put together the ad copy they were going by the amount of time the car has been in Arizona and assumed the same owner since this time). That being said, with the high demand and low production of early Porsche GT Cars, these vehicles were bought early on and "flipped" for profit (without being driven in many cases) and then re-titled in the next owner's name. The car's present owner researched the history of this car and discovered that one of the first owners paid around $175K for the car new (or shortly thereafter) including the dealer markup.

This practice continues with GT cars today into the 991.2 market where it is very common to find 2018/2019 GT3s, RSs, and GT2RS trading for the second and third times already with sub 2K miles. As long as demand outweighs supply this practice will continue. The other thing we notice in the high-end and exotic car market (on all premium brands) is that the individuals who can afford to purchase these cars brand new (and late-model pre-owned) are interested in trying out the latest and greatest and then moving on to the next toy. So far in 2020 we've sold numerous late-model specialty cars with fewer than 4K miles, some of them to third owners already, and many of these were sub-2K mile cars. So, the practice is pretty common. Thanks for the question.

Can you explain why carfax shows 7 owners if current owner bought CPO in 2008?

    Exact odometer reading is 31,035.

@KDAWG97M3 There is no known paintwork or damage history on the car. We have posted meter readings in the gallery. (No readings possible for hood and front fenders as the car has full front end clear-bra). Thanks for the question.

@az911 do you see any signs on paintwork? Have you used a paint meter to go over the car?

Hello PCAR family! Please let me know if you have any questions throughout the course of the auction. This is a great RS that belongs to a wonderful enthusiast client. It recently completed the full major service at Porsche North Scottsdale and is ready to go.

Should any of you be local to the Phoenix/Scottsdale area and would like to come have a closer look just let me know and we can set something up. Thanks!
