Up next for auction is this 2008 Audi B8 S5 finished in Meteor Gray over a Magma Red leather interior. This 2008 example has been optioned with the desirable 6-speed manual transmission, the Technology Package, a Bang & Olufsen premium sound system, Audi Navigation Plus, and Carbon Atlas trim, as well as modified with an AWE Tuning Track exhaust system and 034 Motorsport solid engine mounts. Recent service includes new timing chains and associated gaskets, timing guides and tensioners, new spark plugs, new control arms, new oxygen sensors, a new EGR pipe, and a recent oil service. Showing 55,031 miles on the odometer, this S5 is now being offered at auction by the seller based out of Tenessee.
The exterior is finished in Meteor Gray (X5X5) and features HID headlights with LED running lamps, brushed silver mirror caps, silver window moldings, red brake calipers, a revised front bumper and side skirts, and a quad-tip exhaust. The seller describes the paint to be in very good condition, free of any noteworthy imperfections, and detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report. The windows have been tinted and ECS Tuning wheel spacers have been fitted to the 19” split five-spoke wheels, which are wrapped in Toyo Proxes Plus tires displaying date codes from 2016.
The interior is upholstered in Magma Red leather, accented by Carbon Atlas inlays. The seats are said to show minor wear on the seat bolsters, and the seller reports the center carbon fiber trim has become unglued on the passenger side, and the ignition button shows some signs of use. The optional Technology Package equips rear parking sensors with a rearview camera, adaptive headlights, and an Advanced Key for keyless entry. Additional options consist of a 14-speaker Bang & Olufsen premium sound system, and Audi Navigation Plus with a color driver information display and Audi Music Interface. Additional amenities include a power glass sunroof, heated seats, a leather-wrapped multi-function steering wheel, S5-branded instrumentation, and aluminum door sill plates with S5 logos.
The S5 is powered by a 4.2L FSI V8, which was factory rated at 354 HP and 325 lb.-ft of torque. All four wheels are driven by a 6-speed manual transmission and the Quattro four-wheel drive system. Service to the timing chain was performed in December of 2021 by Eurotech Knoxville, including new timing chains and tensioners, the oil pump chain tensioner, associated gaskets, a new EGR pipe, new spark plugs, oil level sender, valve cover gaskets, and solid motor mounts from 034 Motorsports. Previous work includes the replacement of all 8 control arms and bushings, new oxygen sensors, and the fitment of an AWE Tuning Track exhaust system.

@911lover no information on the accident as it prior to my ownership. It states it was minor, you can see in picture 63 where the underside of the front bumper was damaged. All gaps in that area are good and paint is good. If you zoom in on picture number 3 you can see a small area where the clear coat isn't perfect. Might be where some touch up happened. All control arms in that corner (and passenger side) have been replaced. I could not see any signs of repair. You can see underside pictures which show no rust.
@V8AudiFan Do you have any info on the accident that the Carfax shows? Any signs of paint or bodywork you can see?
Also, any rust underneath?

@sce1214 I can tell you the sound will turn heads. I didn't want to be aggressive revving on the video since it was still cold.

@sce1214 I would recommend reading some reviews on the AWE exhaust and see what others think. I personally love the exhaust note, but everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

@V8AudiFan @JamesGoodfellow I called multiple shops including the local Audi dealer and they do not perform these tests. The Audi dealer said if there was an emissions issue a fault code would be thrown.
@JamesGoodfellow I have not had this done since there isn't a requirement where the car is registered. I called the shop where I have it serviced and they do not do smog tests.
Is this S5 SMOGGED?
@Peteweiss I have another manual V8 Audi that I drive more. I also have a son that will be driving soon and need to free us some garage space for something a little more practical for a new driver.

@68912Porsche yes, engine out which is why I had them replace additional seals and upgrade the motor mounts while the shop had the engine out.
Did the timing chain service require engine out? I can’t keep straight which v8’s have the timing chain on the rear of the engine
