Introduced for the 2005 model year, the fourth-generation BMW M5 is based on the E60 5-Series and is notable as being the world’s first production sedan equipped with a V10 gasoline engine. This 2008 example is finished in Space Grey Metallic over Black leather upholstery and features an optional 7-speed SMG-III automated gearbox along with extensive upgrades including an ESS supercharger kit, Frequency Intelligence exhaust, BC Racing coilovers, RD Sport sway bars, custom headlights, and a Hamann carbon fiber front lip. It also benefits from a BMW dealer-replaced engine and transmission with upgraded rod bearings, throttle actuators, and a lightweight flywheel. The car was purchased from the seller’s friend three years ago who had owned the car since 2016 and modified it in collaboration with the seller. this M5 is now being offered for auction out of California with approximately 145k miles showing on the odometer.
Compared to a standard E60 5-Series, the M5 includes unique bumpers, side skirts, a trunk lid spoiler, and front fender vents. This example is finished in Space Grey Metallic and has been customized with a Hamann carbon fiber front lip spoiler, custom headlights, glass black kidney grilles, Autotecknic matte black side grilles, an iND Distribution rear M5 badge, Gintani Cerakote billet aluminum exhaust tips, and custom red-painted brake calipers to match the engine bay. The car rides on 19” BMW Style 167 M6 double-spoke wheels dressed in new Michelin PS4 tires. The seller indicates the front end of the car has been refinished and covered by a layer of clear paint protection film. The exterior is described to be in excellent condition apart from a small dent next to the gas cap. Detailed images are provided in the gallery. The CARFAX report shows a TRUE360 inspection was completed in 2015 and found prior repairs consistent with very minor damage at the front and rear.
The Black leather interior includes heated and ventilated power front comfort seats with memory, an Alcantara headliner, soft-close doors, a head-up display, a rear window sunblind, and a heated M sport steering wheel. Other accessories include Park Distance Control (PDC), cruise control, automatic climate control, heated rear seats, a premium sound system, and an electric glass sunroof. The seller indicates an aftermarket throttle pedal module has been installed and a custom Alcantara steering wheel is included.
This M5 is equipped with a 5.0-liter S85 V10 engine that was originally rated at 500 HP and 384 lb.-ft of torque. The engine was replaced by Silicon Valley Bimmer in 2021 and features upgraded BE rod bearings, an upgraded fuel system, new Euro Connex throttle actuators, a Frequency Intelligence exhaust system, and an ESS VT2-675 supercharger with a new V3 blower. Power is sent to the rear wheels from a replacement 7-speed SMG-III automated manual gearbox featuring a new clutch and lightweight dual-mass flywheel from Einhorn Industries. Other upgrades include BC Racing coilovers, RD Sport sway bars, and a new idle actuator.
This sale will include owner’s manuals, a window sticker, a toolkit, an air pump, a battery charger, and a clean title.

Idles amazing cold or warm. when i start the car i always wait roughly 8-10 minutes for it to warm up before driving.
Anything to note with starting or idling the car when warm?
Cold start video from this morning - https://youtu.be/GRYes5VS99g?si=UAw5bFo6Jxh1Qw8U feel free to message me with any questions! Sorry I’ve been feeling sick recently and haven’t been able to do much recently.

@nosta what’s the fuel economy like with the supercharger?
@Vinster88 the car is tuned for 91 octane but the controller will sense when you have higher octane and will adjust for it accordingly. I run normally 100 octane from the pump in Saratoga - Los Gatos California. Although you can put 91 octane in the car and you won’t have any issues. I run 91 octane if I’m going on a long drive

@Dom33 it always had a reserve. I don’t know if pcarmarket made a mistake but it’s always had a reserve. I wouldn’t put it up if it didn’t.
@keibet it always had a reserve. I don’t know if pcarmarket made a mistake but it’s always had a reserve. I wouldn’t put it up if it didn’t.
@Dom33 Okay, I must be confused, as usual, LOL.
@keibet I was following it from the start, never said No Reserve
Am I losing my mind, or was this auction started as a "No Reserve" auction and now has a reserve set?
Is there a 91 octane tune as i don’t have 93 in my area.

675hp tune is for 93 octane. not for 91.
@shammad no it wasn’t brand new bmw wouldn’t sell me a new s85 long block. They would only sell me a brand new SMG which they only had two left off and I purchased for 13,xxx. No the motor had 34,xxx miles on it when I got it. Took me about 16 months to find. And then got the whole motor refurbished and refinished I didn’t want to cut any corners.
@nosta thank you! So it was or was not a brand new motor that was put in? Im thinking a refreshed motor that already had 120k miles right?
@WTT Hey, no it does not pass CA emission although I’m more than happy to help you with CA emissions.
@shammad Yes, it was roughly 29,xxx for the whole motor replacement and to completely refinished and refresh the motor with parts. The transmission was a 14,xxx dollar bill from bmw by itself to get a brand new SMG transmission. The whole motor refresh was give or take 29,xxx with new parts and labor. Sorry if it’s confusing feel to ask me anymore questions or anything that is confusing. But in the grand scheme of things is costed me roughly 44,xxx to replace the motor and transmission
@Seller
........... did this pass CA emissions testing?
I went through the receipts and I wanted to double check. The bill was $29,xxx for the engine replacement. $18,xxxx for all the parts covered new engine, transmission and tcu? Or was the engine used and refreshed at that time?
Thank you
@zollerm HP right around 716HP. mileage on motor and new transmission 17,819 now roughly give or take.
Current HP and mileage on the replacement motor? Thanks.
