The SL55 AMG was offered as the high-performance version of the R230 SL-Class and came equipped with a supercharged 5.4-liter V8 engine producing 510 HP, Active Body Control (ABC) adaptive suspension, larger brakes with 6-piston front calipers, and an aerodynamic AMG body kit. This 2008 example was acquired by its seller in 2011 as a Mercedes-Benz Certified Pre-Owned Vehicle from its original selling dealership in Redwood City, CA, and comes finished in Black over a matching black leather interior. Features include an optional power-retractable panoramic glass hardtop, a Parktronic System, interior wood burred walnut veneer trimming, and 12-way power-adjustable heated and ventilated multi-contour sport seats. This SL55 AMG is finished in Black (040U) with a power-retractable panoramic glass hardtop. Equipment includes AMG-specific bodywork consisting of a front AMG air dam with mesh grilles, molded side skirts, and a rear apron with a mesh air diffuser along with bi-xenon headlights with heated washers, heated power mirrors with integrated LED turn indicators, a deployable black roll bar, silver brake calipers, fender vents, “V8 Kompressor” badging, fog lights with corner illumination LED tail lamps, and four polished exhaust tips. It rides on staggered 19” 5-spoke AMG wheels dressed in Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires from 2022. The windshield was replaced in July 2022 and the CARFAX report shows minor damage to the front end in October 2016, which the seller states necessitated a replacement bumper and headlight assembly carried out by an authorized Mercedes-Benz repair shop. A minor imperfection is also noted on the hood.

The cabin is upholstered in black leather with burred wood walnut veneers along the center console and door panels. Features include 12-way power-adjustable heated and ventilated multi-contour sport seats with perforated centers and AMG badging on the backrests, Keyless-GO entry, a CD changer, the Parktronic System, dual-position front axle lift, and a Bluetooth module. The seller reports that the sale includes a new set of Mercedes-Benz branded floor mats and slight pixelation flaws are present on the tachometer.

This SL55 AMG is equipped with a handcrafted supercharged 5.4-liter V8 that was factory-rated at 510 HP and 531 lb.-ft of torque, which drives the rear wheels through a 5-speed AMG Speedshift automatic transmission. It accelerates from 0-60 MPH 60 in 4.4 seconds and has an electronically controlled top speed of 155 MPH. Performance features include an AMG-tuned ABC adaptive suspension, 6-piston brake calipers in the front and 4-piston calipers in the rear, an Electronic Stability Program (ESP), and speed-sensitive power steering. The seller notes that the car is up to date with maintenance and that the car has always been serviced at a Mercedes-Benz dealership or an independent Mercedes-Benz/AMG specialist.

I take exceptional care of all of my vehicles - cosmetically and mechanically. I purchased this CPO SL55 AMG in 2011 from the original selling M-B dealer in Redwood City, California. It had been leased by a Silicon Valley venture capitalist for the first three years of gentle ownership. This car has always been garaged and serviced by my local M-B dealer and the independent M-B/AMG specialist. It has been detailed twice each year - pre-summer and winter. All service schedules are up to date and this full-time California beauty is registered until August 2024. An exceedingly well-maintained example, this is the final production year of the 5.5 liter supercharged V-8 hardtop convertible. A full set of Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires were mounted in March of 2022. A windshield rock chip necessitated a factory replacement in July 2022. The factory Bluetooth module is included as well as a C-TEK battery charger/tender, an extra set of new M-B branded floor mats, an aftermarket car cover, all manuals, and both sets of keys. If it were not for the need to make room for a new vehicle, I would not consider offering this outstanding automobile for sale. There is a hardly noticeable chip on the hood which is too small to photograph and a pixelation flaw on the tachometer- an image of which is depicted. There was a minor fender bender in a shopping mall parking lot five years ago for which a bumper and headlight assembly were replaced by the local M-B authorized shop. All inquiries are welcome.
