Intended to be the most extreme road-going 911 to date, the 997-generation GT2 was debuted in 2007 featuring a twin-turbocharged Mezger engine sending over 520 HP to the rear wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission. This 2008 example is one of only 185 sold in the United States for the model year and comes finished in Carrara White over a Dark Grey Natural Leather interior. The car showcases an immense list of factory options including interior deviated stitching, painted trim pieces, extended leather upholstery, illuminated carbon fiber door sills, and much more. The car has also been extensively modified by the experts at BBi Autosport including upgraded turbochargers, straight-cut transmission gears, TiAL blowoff valves, and a custom titanium exhaust system resulting in a claimed output of up to 1,100 HP. This remarkable GT2 is now being offered for auction out of Colorado while showing approximately 6k miles on the odometer.
Based on the 911 Turbo, the GT2 features wide fenders with rear side air intakes along with a revised front end, a fixed rear spoiler, and a rear bumper with finned air outlets and titanium exhaust pipes. This example is finished in Carrara White and was optioned with exclusive red taillights. It rides on 18” BBS E88 three-piece wheels with gold-painted centers and Michelin Pilot Sport tires.
The cabin is appointed with Dark Grey Natural Leather with deviated stitching and extended upholstery covering the inner pillars, rearview mirror, dome lamp, steering column, gear lever trim, speakers, and roof liner. Other noteworthy options include seatbelts in Guards Red, an aluminum footrest, Porsche-crested headrests, an embossed storage compartment lid, a thicker leather steering wheel, and leather-edged floor mats. The rear center console is also painted to match the exterior along with the door openers, belt outlets, instrument surround, switch panel, and dashboard trim strip. The twin-turbocharged 3.6-liter Mezger flat-six engine is paired with a 6-speed manual transmission that drives the rear wheels. Standard performance features include Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB), Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), and a limited-slip differential. Modifications installed by BBI include an upgraded suspension, HPS intake and intercooler piping, Xona X3C turbochargers, straight-cut transmission gears, TiAL blowoff valves, and a titanium exhaust system. The seller adds that the drivetrain is rated at over 1,100 HP and a pre-purchase inspection is welcome by any interested bidders.

@ClayMan We aren't sure if the original PCM or traction control still works or if the Syvecs has its own traction control settings.
Blue Chip originally diagnosed the issue and was able to clear the codes so we aren't sure why the light came back on.
@SmokinV10 I understand where you are coming from as there is missing documentation from the build. The main reason for this is due to the invoice system change BBI had done awhile back and they don't have all the records so we posted what information was given to us. If you look back at @yoojeankim comment, you can see his ownership experience and why he bought the car.
@SmokinV10 if you go down in the comment list you can see that Revhard posted what BBi has sent to us in an email. If you send me your email or any buyer for that matter wants to send me their email address I will forward what BBi has emailed me but I do not feel comfortable posting screen shots of the emails. Also idk why I would bid on a car I currently own.
@McGovenator60 if BBi canvouch for it, why hasn’t the seller put some evidence? Most of us with a lot of experience with big tuner cars also know that no build is immune from significant problems. We try to mitigate the likelihood of problems by seeking evidence and getting concerns answered. I’m not the only one here with concerns. No one can explain the presence of cosmoline on a block that has allegedly disassembled. That’s not common. If you have no concerns- you can feel free to bid on it. Otherwise the lukewarm reception so far is a logical derivative of logical, reasonable questions from an educated consumer base.
Does PSM still work, or any semblance of traction / stability control? What is the cause of the airbag light?

@SmokinV10 BBi can vouch for everything. They do not have the actually receipts because they have switched electronic filing systems since the build. Which unfortunately means it got lost. But if you are familiar with their work and quality it is not an issue. They are also happy to take phone calls about the build or have you come tour the shop just like they allowed @yoojeankim when he bought it. Highly modified on a highly collectible car is definitely not for everyone. But convincing potential buyer what this car is worth when you really have no idea isn’t right.

This is an awesome car, but heavilymodified. Here are some points I think that are important for everyone to know who might not be familiar with this type of build.
1. This car has been run at 1,110-1,300whp levels at a bunch of 1 & 1/2 mile race events
2. It's still on the stock transmission
3. The factory ECU is not in the car, it's running a full standalone
4. This can not be converted back to stock easily
I've seen this car in person and it's an absolute beast! Not knocking the car at all, wish I could buy it, but it's important to know what you are buying in it's current form.

Theres the obvious cosmoline that underscores the apprehensions of those questioning the quality/veracity of the build. No clue on where the OEM GT2 block is. Some other cosmetic issues.

@CRR The only items that are included with the sale are the OEM hood, one key, and the Carbon Revolution wheels. There is no owners manual and no window sticker included.
We were tasked to help sell this vehicle, and as always we do our best to answer any questions that may come up. As we’ve stated before we have been actively attempting to get more info on the build directly from BBI for quite some time.
During our time with the vehicle, no issues have become apparent. We are happy to answer any specific concerns and/or questions. However, at the request of the owner, this vehicle will be sold as it is. If purchased and a major issue such as loss of compression is discovered during a post-purchase inspection, we would offer to help remedy or purchase it back just as we do for every sale. We have full confidence in the car and the work done.
@MezgerTT I can promise you the owner is doing everything he can. He has been in contact with Betim and Dmitiry. They are neck deep in getting ready for pikes peak and also trying to get this info. The owner and Revhard is doing everything they can but unfortunately they are waiting on a party that is extremely busy. We will hopefully have it in the next 24 hours.
@revhardmotors there is only one person I would trust with inspecting this car and unfortunately there is no way to do that before end of auction. The blue chip invoice you have in the gallery lists an oil analysis. Was this done? If so can you scan and post the report? Any responses to my other questions? Mezgertt has some of same concerns. Honestly if this car had a replaced stock motor/turbos/gearbox/ecu etc approximating an original 6k mile 997 gt2 then it would fetch a much higher bid. The vid you listed makes the car seem much tamer than the vids linked by yoojeankim. Your response also suggests that I could bid to win the auction and it would be contingent on post-auction inspections. Is this true?

Hello. Reached out to BBi and no response regarding this build. Does anyone know anything about this engine. Is it a 3.6, 3.9, 4.1? What crank? What rods? What cams? Is it GT3 case? Why does it have cosmoline on it if it’s a built motor? Also, does anyone know if the BBi motor is still in it or maybe a stock turbo motor was swapped into it because the other motor was hurt. That would explain the cosmoline. Anyone know anything specific about this build?
@CRR So I’m told that it is flex fuel and can run on any gas. We unfortunately do not have an oil analysis. If you want to arrange a PPI we can do that for you. Send us a direct message and we can arrange that.

@revhardmotors I’ll just go on record here asking the regular pcar nerd questions. Can you source the factory wheels? I’d trade the bbs and carbons for factory. Do you have both keys, manual, original window sticker?
Also, the pictures don’t look like the case has been cleaned of original cosmoline. All of the mezger engine builds I’ve done in the past where the case was opened that stuff was pressure washed off. You really need to provide original invoices and blueprints or get the original builder/owner to chime in here.
@revhardmotors your previous reply said “fully flex fuel”. This has syvecs, correct? Which version, which pumps, lines, injectors, intake modifications? Who tuned the car and are there not multiple maps for 93, flex, race e85 etc? Also, do you have copy of oil analysis detailed in the Blue Chip invoice?

@ClayMan The car can be tuned for different fuels but it is not on a flex fuel system. Keep in mind that it's also tuned for Colorado altitude.

I’ve uploaded additional paint meter photos to the gallery. Unfortunately, our gauge was working properly and wouldn’t detect aluminum so I was unable to get readings on the doors. I’ve also uploaded a couple photos of some imperfections I noticed on the passenger side mirror and right side just behind the door near the rocker panel.
Also, the oem wheels are also included with the sale.
The airbag light was not on when I checked yesterday. Blue Chip had identified the issue and seemed to have resolved it so I’m not sure why it came on in the photos.
As far as receipts go, the ones uploaded is all we have at the moment. We are still waiting on build specifications from BBI but there’s a chance we may not get them before the auction ends.
Again, we totally understand where you are coming from and want to help make potential bidders as informed as possible.

@RevHardMotors Would appreciate any receipts you can provide and the additional paint meter readings. DME overrevs report is irrelevant at this point thanks to @yoojeankim very informative post. We know the car runs a stand alone computer. We also know it was bounced off the limiter plenty based upon the videos.
Also, is the air bag light still illuminated as it is shown in one of your photos. If not, was the issue diagnosed and fixed or the code just cleared to shut off the light. Based upon the receipts posted, it appears the air bag system has been an issue for a while.
So you know you’re not wasting your time getting information, I’ve owned UGR Twin Turbo cars with built motors that make 2000 + whp and run on Motec systems. Any highly modified car is a risk. I’m just trying to gather information to mitigate it. Again, I’m a buyer if the final bid is worth the risk of the known and unknown of this car. Thank you.

Hi all,
just want to chime in as I was the previous owner (short term). The last owner I bought it from is Jason Huang (who runs Shift sector half mile/mile events). He and Betim at BBI built this GT2 together to hit some high mile #'s for his events. As everyone knows what BBi is capable of and why Jason chose that shop to help accomplish his goals. This GT2 did start off as a very pristine low mile example car so gives everyone peace of mind.
I bought the vehicle with the intent to NOT continue Jasons high hp goal but to reduce the power and make it more daily drivable. I knew to replicate this crazy engine build would already cost 100k+ let alone the other goodies that came with it. When i flew out to CA to get a test drive and visit Betim at BBi. He showed me his shop and pretty much the rundown of the vehicle. Just the tour of his shop already sold me on the vehicle but when he took me out, it really WOW'd me. I've never experienced a vehicle like this, a high revving (8500-9k redline) GT2 that pulls with a ferocious intent. After the test drive, Betim actually agreed that it would such a fun car if it was reduced in power with an easier clutch.
I wanted the vehicle to be only touched by BBi before it came to CO. We came up with the game plan on how to cater my needs and wants for the vehicle, that is where you see the first couple invoices from them. When it arrived to CO, there needed to be some altitude adjustments for the syvecs and oddly one of the fuel pumps gave out so i had my go-to shop BlueChip adjust all that. BBi did a remote tune with BlueChip to get it dialed in.
Sadly my ownership was short lived as I bit too much on some commercial RE deals and also building my personal home so i sold it locally to a good friend. He knew the car and the money that was put into the vehicle. I also carry a big reputation in the car community of the tier of vehicles i purchase and the due diligences i also go through before buying something. I believe in CARma and also the people i purchase from are alike in values.
This is a very high HP GT2, its extreme and fun. If you have never had a highly modified vehicle then it isn't for you. If you are familiar with them, this is one of the best cars ive owned. Betim did state he would probably never replicate this build because of time and commitment since the 997 market is so tiny in terms of modifications. I hope this helps clarify somethings and it sounds like @MezgerTT could fit the bill. Again i value the car community and hopefully someone else gets to enjoy this beautiful car.

Also to touch on why the build invoice is hard to obtain is that BBi built this vehicle in sections and during the time there was an update or change in software so they lost a lot of previous info. They did inform me they would input it in their system like they were building it today

Built motor “hill climb build”. This is the same build on the record winning PPIHC turbo cup car, gt3 heads, tial 3586. Custom fuel system, fully flex fuel, can run pump, ethanol, race gas. 2100cc Injectors. Fire suppression system, Triple disc carbon clutch. Upgraded axles, Back half custom painted white BBI roll bar, Schroth Harnesses

The previous owner states this package from BBI is quoted at $140,000.
@RohrlOne BBi built it from the start. The last shop that laid hands on it was Blue Chip in Denver. They were the shop that did some routine maintenance and tuned it for elevation on e98. Like I told MezgerTT the current owner is doing everything he can to get Betim to give all the receipts and a cost of replication. Thank you.
@MezgerTT all of your questions and line of thinking are completely logical and in line on a car like this. I have many of the same. At this point we don’t know if this build was done from 0 by BBi or if it was a car that was already built and then sent to BBi for cleanup or further mods.
Before any of the “experts” chime in, no need to further your embarrassment.
Having owned multiple 1000+ hp cars across multiple marquees- this could either be a very good deal or a money pit - maybe both. The new owner should in the least know what they are getting.
The Seller bears the brunt on this for listing a car with incomplete information.

When we initially submitted this auction we knew we didn’t have all of the specifics on the build, however, PCARMARKET was eager to list the car and ensured us that we had enough information to list as long as we welcomed a PPI, which I’ll get to that in a minute.
We have been actively trying to get more information from previous owners as well as BBi directly and we’ll provide that information as soon as it’s available.
I can also provide more paint meter photos and add them to the gallery today.
As far as a PPI, there are a few European shops close by that I would suggest. The closest one is 5280 Motorsports and the other is Bluewater Performance. Please send us a direct message to schedule the PPI and we’d be happy to arrange it for you.
@McGovenator60 Thanks. I do know BBi. Interesting why the dealer would only post clutch and flywheel receipts from them. If it is a documented BBi build, that would instill a a lot of confidence. Next question would be when it was built and when was the last time they laid hands on it. Regarding my ability to buy the car, not that it’s anyone’s business other than the seller, I can assure you I can.
@MezgerTT I really hope you have the bank account to actually buy this car. If you know anything about Betim and BBi you know they are great people that build amazing cars but Betim is not the best at getting you info. I know the current and previous owner are doing everything they can to get all the info. And again the currently listing dealership, by Colorado Law can not work (respond to your questions) on a Sunday. So they will get to you when they can.

@PJS I believe it runs on 87 or less. If it’s a real serious build you can stick a garden hose in the tank and it will run on water.
I suspect if it’s a built to make 1500 HP it likely has 2000 lb injectors and runs on E85. I guess will find out when the seller posts details.

@MezgerTT @b00sted_porsche you guys are arguing over a car that was built to go on rally’s with Bugattis and Koenigseggs, and built by arguable one of the best Porsche builders/engineers in the US. They will get the DME. But I can promise the computer system in the car makes it so this car doesn’t over Rev. It also has built interns so it can take a higher revlimit than your standard gt2. This car was extremely well taken care of and built. It is not a track car. It’s one of the craziest cars I have ever been around. No need to argue over unimportant topics. But, with it being such an expensive car I see the purpose of getting all the possible information.

@b00sted_porsche thanks, but you’re mistaken. Doug video didn’t say ignore range 5 and 6 overrevs on a 997 Turbo because the redline has been raised. That’s illogical. The motor is still passing 9000 rpm if it registers a range 6. That’s not good on most 997 Turbo builds. Maybe you should watch Doug’s video again. Also, I don’t care how well an 997 Turbo is built, 9000 rpm overrevs is an issue. Moreover, the seller hasn’t put up receipts for the motor build so it’s speculation at this point how well it’s built. Let’s see where your bid lands on this car since you don’t care about overrevs or engine receipts.
@mezgerTT DME is irrelevant on this car. Being it’s a built motor and highly modified, I’m 99.9% sure that the RPM limit has been raised. DME read outs, don’t raise with RPM limit raises.
Case and point, this is not a collector grade, stash away for 20 years, kind of car. People on BaT and pcar need to educate themselves on DME’s before asking. Highly recommend watching Doug from switchcars YouTube video on it.

@ljpviper Congratulations on the sale. Hope you got all the money. Sometimes the DME police are warranted if knowledgeable, some are in outer space and don’t have a clue. Range 1-3 on a 997 Turbo is of little consequence. Range 4 and above is something to consider when looking at the number of times it occurred and when.
@MezgerTT , yeah I just sold mine 2 months ago. It was mainly stock other than exhaust.
Lucky sold it local did not get attacked by the DME police. They are great cars. This GT2 is special. Good luck.
@ljpviper No problem. The factory redline is approx 6800 rpm on a 997 Turbo. Range 4 overrevs start at 7401 and run through 7900, Range 5 starts at 7901 and runs to 9000 rpm, Range 6 is everything 9001 rpm and above. Depending how the motor is built running it to 7500 or so shouldn’t be a big deal; however, running it over 8500 or 9000 rpm would be. When you buy something modified extensively you are buying a potential ticking timebomb, that’s why the upper ranges are important to know as well as what exactly was done during the build. Stock rods don’t last too well above 750 wheel HP.
@MezgerTT I get it. You want to do your due diligence. Nothing wrong with that. I would think a car with over 1000hp would think the DME becomes irrelevant.

Thanks. It’s hard to tell what you posted relative to paint meter readings, but here’s my guess.
Passenger Fender, Drivers fender, roof and an indistinguishable body panel. If I’m not mistaken you did not post any paint meter readings of either door or the rear 1/4 panels. That said, it would be appreciated if you could post readings from each panel that is metal on the car.
Also, the hood that came off the car does it have any damage and has it been repainted. Regarding the engine build, are their receipts for the engine work or did I miss it.
And finally, any chips or cracks in windshield, hood or front bumper.

Thanks for the early interest in the car! Just had to add a few things about the car. As the listing states, the car was built by BBI Autosport, which is the same company that built the Ken Block "Hoonipigasus" Pikes Peak Hillclimb car as well as many other Hill Climb cars and well known builds. The car was built to handle about 1500 hp. This is definitely a unique build with the idea of having a fast street car (not necessarily a track car). We are very exciting to have the opportunity to present this car and send it off to the next owner that truly appreciates the craftsmen ship that went into this build.
@MezgerTT I can add paint meter photos in the auction photo gallery. Keep in mind that the entire front end does have PPF and has a carbon fiber hood. The OEM hood is available with the sale of the car as well as some of the stock suspension components but that's about it. The engine is was fully built by BBI to handle 1500hp and we do have a dyno sheet with the current setup.

Do you have: 1) paint meter readings 2) the original hood, exhaust, turbos, wheels, intercoolers, etc 3) a DME report 4) dyno sheet.
Also, are the engine internals stock? Such as stock connecting rods, stock engine case, etc.
