Up for auction is this 2008 Porsche 997 Targa 4S finished in Arctic Silver Metallic over a Cocoa Special Leather interior.  Carrying on one of Porsche’s most iconic traditions, the 997 Targa model was introduced in 2006 and features a sliding glass roof system that provides an open and airy driving experience.  Representing a very small portion of total 997 production, this 2008 Targa 4S was configured at an original cost of over $109k with options including 19” Turbo wheels, the Bose High-End Sound Package, stainless steel exhaust pipes, and Exclusive Porsche crested headrests.  The car was sold new in Miami and remained under the care of its original owner for the first 20k miles.  Having undergone regular service through authorized Porsche dealers, this 997 is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Florida while showing just over 40k miles on the odometer.

This 997 is finished in Arctic Silver Metallic and features chrome roofline trim, Exclusive stainless-steel tailpipes, and optional 19” Turbo wheels that are currently dressed in Pirelli P-Zero tires that were mounted in 2016 at 35,658 miles.  CARFAX shows damage to have occurred to the right side in 2011 which is said to have resulted from the car being reversed into while at a Porsche dealer for service.  The passenger door skin is said to have been replaced, refinished, and blended into the surrounding areas.  Paint meter readings are provided for reference in the photo gallery along with a True 360 report which indicates no persisting damage.

Inside, this Targa highlights a Cocoa Special Leather interior featuring Porsche crested headrests and the Bose High-End Sound Package.  The Targa roof system can be operated at any speed and allows the glass roof panel to slide beneath the rear window simulating a top-down driving experience. Some minor wear is noted on the leather seating surfaces and the seller confirms all gauges and electronics to be fully functional.

This 4S is equipped with a naturally aspirated 3.8L flat-six engine that sends up to 355 HP and 295 lb.-ft of torque to all four wheels through a 5-speed Tiptronic S automatic transmission.  Acceleration from 0-60 MPH is achieved in approximately 4.7 seconds with a top speed of nearly 180 MPH.  An upgraded Borla exhaust has been installed which provides a more aggressive tone as well as a moderate increase in power.  Routine maintenance has been kept up to date by Porsche dealers throughout the lifetime of the vehicle and the seller reports that the car has been driven less than 1,500 miles since the last service carried out in August of 2020. Images of the underside can be found in the photo gallery.

This sale will include a True 360 condition report, a service history printout, and a clean Montana title. Now is your chance to own one of the rarest 997 models on the road, do not miss out on this beautifully appointed Targa 4S.

@jbdash2 In 2019 it had the full 30k service, fluids, filter and belts. 2020 had an annual 10k miles service. I would think this year would also be an annual, basically oil and filter.

  • jbdash2 (registered bidder) 2 years, 9 monthsago

In the video on the dash footage I think it showed a service due in 29 days; do you know what that service is?

@TRT1959 Just sent Pcar pictures of all 4 wheels, also added vide4o of instrument cluster on start up as requested by someone else.

  • Naplesms (seller) 2 years, 9 monthsago

@TRT1959 I can take some and try and get them loaded but will guarantee there are no curb marks or scrapes on any of them.

  • TRT1959 2 years, 9 monthsago

naplesms do you have any additional close-up photos of the other wheels? Thanks.

#Naplesms - when I read your comment I didn't at first realize it was from the seller. Astounding that it is. "Less info is preferable to more" is not a good selling position to take. I could understand your saying, "Yeah, they'd be great but it's too much trouble" - it really isn't - "to make them" better than "Are you kidding me."

  • Naplesms (seller) 2 years, 9 monthsago

@AmeliaIslander Seriously, borescope pictures, you ask for those every-time you go to a dealership to look at a car..... That kind of information doesn't come with a full pre purchase inspection.

  • AmeliaIslander (registered bidder) 2 years, 9 monthsago

Would be very reassuring to see bore scope pics if you have (or can get) them. Also, a video to hear the Borla system (preferably from outside and also inside the car when it's moving). And finally a video of the instrument cluster at cold start and after fully warmed up.
And a question - when the targa glass is closed is there a cloth panel to completely block out incoming light or are you always sitting under dark glass? Many thanks.

@kjbusa Montana has no sales tax and people with multiple toys register them there.

  • kjbusa 2 years, 9 monthsago

    Why a Montana title?
