We are pleased to present this 2008 Porsche 997 Turbo Cabriolet finished in Black over a black full leather interior. This first generation 997 Turbo comes equipped with the desirable combination of a Mezger twin-turbo flat-six paired with a 6-speed manual transmission and the Sport Chrono Package. Purchased by the seller from a Porsche dealer in 2018, this example has been well looked after with over $7k invested in recent preventative maintenance. Showing approximately 48k miles on the odometer, this 6-speed Turbo is now being offered with a clean title by its seller out of Missouri.
The seller reports the Black exterior to be in very good condition having undergone a paint correction under their ownership along with an application of clear protective film over the full front end, side mirrors, and A-pillars. Detailed images are provided in the photo gallery along with a clean CARFAX. The black cabriolet top remains fully functional, and this sale will also include a painted hardtop. As a mechanical precaution, the seller had the original hydraulic spoiler system removed, and the wing is currently fixed in the up position. The original hydraulic system will be provided to the next owner as part of the sale. This 997 rides on 19” wheel equipped with a set of Pirelli P-Zero tires dated from 2019 and with approximately 4k miles of use.
Inside, the Black full leather interior is reportedly in excellent condition, with all instruments and features operating properly. The full leather option includes a leather wrapped dash, center console, and door panels. Factory options include the Sport Chrono Package Turbo, interior matched floor mats, heated seats, and Porsche crests in the headrests. A connection for a hardwired radar detection system was installed by the owner.
The 3.6 L twin-turbocharged flat-six Mezger-design engine has roots that can be traced back to Porsche's Le Mans racing legacy. This water-cooled unit is rated for 480hp and 457 lb.-ft torque that will push the Turbo form 0-60 MPH in as little as 3.7 seconds, all the way up to top speed of over 190 MPH. This particular example is mechanically stock and is described to be in outstanding driving condition, having received its 40k mile service, as well as a range of other preventive maintenance done under the seller’s ownership as detailed in the service records totaling over $7k. Some items include a new clutch, rear main seal, drive belts, water pump, thermostat, and pinned coolant pipes.
Included in the sale is a clean title, service records, owner's books, tools and compressor, as well as a painted hardtop, wind deflector and original hydraulic spoiler system. With its Mezger engine and 6-speed gearbox, this first gen Turbo Cabriolet is an excellent value for any enthusiast or collector looking to add a 997 to their stable.
