A special edition of the 987 limited to 500 examples worldwide, the 2008 Porsche Boxster S Design Edition 2 comes finished in Carrara White with matching wheels, grey Porsche Design graphics, painted interior trim, and a more powerfully tuned flat-six engine borrowed from the Cayman S Sport. This Boxster S is one of only 32 examples reportedly delivered to the U.S. and comes equipped with the Sport Chrono Package, Bose High-End Sound Package, heated seats, and automatic climate control. It was purchased new by the current owner from Boardwalk Porsche of Plano, Texas, and is now being offered for auction out of Indiana with under 6,500 miles showing on the odometer.
The Design Edition 2 is distinguished by Carrara White paint and grey Porsche Design stripes positioned lengthwise along the body. It features painted side air intakes, a Stone Grey convertible roof, aluminum-look rolls bars, and body-colored 19” SportDesign wheels. This example rides on original Bridgestone Potenza tires. The seller notes the car has been carefully maintained as a collector’s item and was professionally transported on an enclosed trailer upon their move from Texas to Indiana. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The cabin is appointed with Black leather upholstery and Carrara White painted trim spanning the dashboard and center console. Other details include Carrara White instrument dials, Porsche-crested headrests, an Alcantara shifter, an Alcantara-wrapped three-spoke steering wheel, an aluminum footrest, and stainless-steel door entry guards with Porsche Design Edition 2 lettering. A limitation badge is also mounted on the glovebox reading “Limited Edition Nr. 228/500”. Other features include heated front seats, automatic climate control, the Sport Chrono Package, Bose High-End Sound Package, self-dimming mirrors & rain sensor, the Bi-Xenon Headlamp Package, and a Porsche CDR-24 AM/FM/CD stereo.
This limited-edition Boxster S is equipped with a naturally aspirated 3.4-liter flat-six engine featuring a revised exhaust system for an output of up to 303 HP. The rear wheels are driven by way of a 6-speed manual transmission while stopping power comes from red 4-piston fixed brake calipers and cross-drilled rotors at each corner. The seller states a new battery has been installed and routine oil changes have been completed throughout their ownership.
This sale will include the original window sticker, owner’s manuals, some maintenance records, and a clean title.

@RightlyDone - hi! That driving video was from last Fall when the battery was low enough to throw a TPMS code. The battery has been replaced, and you can see in the cold start up video from a week ago- that there are currently NO Codes. 👍

The driving video shows the info system indicating a tire pressure or TPMS error. Can you confirm it’s low tire pressure or a measurement system error, please?

I can verify that there were annual oil changes by a certified mechanic, and that the car has been driven weekly throughout its existence , and is literally in perfect running condition. I drove it to a destination an hour away for the PCA 75th Anniversary event, and it runs like a gem, and the ride is amazing!

@PorscheDAN - hi! These are the original tires that have less than 7,000 miles on them, but due to their age, will likely need to be replaced in the future. The car has been driven short distances on a regular basis; I recently drove it to a destination an hour away, and the ride is smooth and stable.

Very nice, I would want to see evidence of annual oil changes on the vehicle since it has been driven so little in the last 15 years. At this point it needs a major service with all fluid changes and new tires if it's going to be put into service.
I owned one of these before moving to a 991. It’s a very capable car that looks “fresher” than most other 2008’s due to the paint and graphics. Rumor at Porsche was these were fitted with slightly more powerful engines than a standard 2008 S model, but there was no way to tell for certain. Mine was trouble-free and I have fond memories of it. Someone will enjoy this machine.

I own the exact car & love it. It looks like you’re either going to the beach or for ice cream. Beautiful car.The ride & handling are superb. The writer says it has black leather, it is actually two tone leather gray & black.
