Finished in Macadamia Metallic over Sand Beige full leather upholstery, this 2008 Porsche 987 Cayman S pairs a 6-speed manual transmission with its 3.4-liter flat-six engine. It also features the Preferred, Bi-Xenon Headlamp, Bose High-End Sound, and Sport Chrono Packages. Modified with a Cargraphic exhaust system, Cayman R-style rocker stripes, and a Pioneer head unit, this tastefully appointed 987 is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Texas with under 42k miles showing on the odometer.
Compared to the standard Cayman, the “S” version is equipped with red-finished brake calipers and dual exhaust outlets. This example is finished in Macadamia Metallic and features the optional Bi-Xenon Headlamp Package. It rides on factory 19” Carrera S wheels with optional colored Porsche crests. Removable vinyl Cayman R-style side graphics have been applied and can be easily removed upon the winning bidder's request. Minor imperfections are noted including some scrapes on the underside of the front bumper and an approximate 1” ding on the leading edge of the front hood. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report. Paint meter readings, conducted by Rennsport Motorwerks during a pre-purchase inspection in May 2024, indicate measurements between 3-5mm all around.
Inside, the Sand Beige standard leather interior features automatic climate control, the Bose High-End Sound Package, Sport Chrono Package (without PCM), and the Preferred Package which adds auto-dimming mirrors, a rain sensor, heated seats, interior-colored floor mats. The seller adds that a Pioneer head unit with navigation, a backup camera, and a radar detector has been fitted, and confirms all gauges, electronics, and accessories to be in working order. The cabin is reported to be in excellent condition, with only normal use-related scuffing on the driver's door sill and minor paint flecks missing from the underside of the rear trunk lid.
Power is derived from a naturally aspirated 3.4-liter flat-six, sending as much as 295 HP and 251 lb.-ft of torque stock to the rear wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission. Braking is handled by fixed 4-piston calipers with ventilated and cross-drilled discs at each corner. The seller adds that an aftermarket Cargraphic exhaust imported from Germany has been installed under previous ownership, offering a slightly deeper tone. Additionally, an oil change was performed in the last few months by TPWS, an independent Porsche shop in Austin, Texas. The CARFAX report shows 16 service history entries, and no outstanding maintenance items have been reported.
This sale will include a clean title, owner’s manuals, a Porsche-branded car cover, a Covercraft Weathershield car cover, Griot’s cleaning supplies, and three sets of floor mats.
The seller would like you to know: "I purchased this example in mid-May 2024 after searching for the perfect Macadamia car for many years. Prior to my acquisition, the car was inspected by Rennsport Motorwerks. Several minor fault codes were found but were not identified as genuine issues. The communication codes are most likely due to the aftermarket head unit. No codes of any kind were found during an additional inspection at TPWS, an independent Porsche shop in Austin, Texas, in June 2024. TPWS also changed the oil, using Mobil 1 0W40. The car remains highly original, except for the Cargraphic exhaust, Pioneer stereo, and removable Cayman R-style rocker stripes. Unfortunately, I have to sell it so soon due to a family emergency. I am devastated to let it go. It is exactly the spec and condition I wanted. Touring through the Texas hill country, winding out the flat-six, and feeling that perfect mid-engine rotation, has been the most rewarding automotive experience of my life. But family comes first. Thank you for your understanding."

Thank you all!
@SteveinVT Thank you!
Really nice 987 Cayman S in an uncommon color that will surely turn heads. Congratulations!
Sold for $39,000
Congrats to DeeBo87 on your auction win! Kudos to CDayton for running a good process- great photos, very responsive to PMs.
@DeeBo87
My view still says "processing" but i think that's it? Congrats!
That number puts it in line with a 2009 Cayman S with PDK....JMO.
That is a big number.

FWIW- There was a Macadamia Metallic 997 Carrera sold/auction a couple of weeks ago. Admit tho', a rare and very pleasant color.

I am here to confirm that if a Macadamia Metallic manual is what you’re looking for, you’d better bid on this Cayman. I’ve been searching for a Macadamia 911 and they just are not around, or not set at market value for silver, white or other “dentist spec” colors. If I could do with only two seats, I would be bidding aggressively.
Bid in the amount of $26,000
@RJ80 Thank you for that clarification.
This car does have the optional extended leather interior, which is relatively rare to find on a 987 Cayman and makes the interior feel much more expensive than those with plastic doors and dashboard. The description of standard leather really sells the car short.
Bid in the amount of $25,250
@Hotwheeljohn I had thought full leather but after Googling around I'm not 100% certain. The dash, console, glove box, door liners, etc are all leather, so I thought that was full. Is there a particular photo that would help? I'm sorry for the confusion; this is my first Porsche, hopefully not the last.
Also the one other question, part of the description in the ad says full weather, another portion of it says standard leather, wanted to confirm, which is it?
@Damaho912 The stripes are a light sandy tan color. I was trying to get close to the interior hue. Plus I just liked it; I work in a professional field adjacent to soil science so I'm drawn to dirt colors. :)
Simply gorgeous color (and sound)! Hard to tell from the pics but are the side decals white or an off-white?
Hello everyone. Please let me know if you have any further questions as we move into the last few hours of this auction. It was great to meet so many fans of this unconventional color combo at Cars & Coffee Austin yesterday. Thank you
@mherf 5 min with a hair dryer and they should peel right off without damage. Thank you for your interest.
You mention the Porsche stripes down the side are removable. How easily, and how much damage will it do to the underlying paint?

Thank you to everyone who has commented, bid, or messaged thus far. If you are in central Texas and would like to see the car this weekend, I'll bring it to Cars & Coffee at Circuit of the Americas this Sunday, July 14. For more info: https://circuitoftheamericas.com/cars-and-coffee/

@eriksolsen Thanks, Erik. That was a fun morning, and the results were amazing. Thanks for your work. Selfishly I'd love it if you or someone else in central Texas bought the car so I could see it at local shows. :)
Thanks for the kind words @cdayton.
This really is a spectacular car. The color is impressive (and quite difficult to capture well) in person. Absolutely a car I'd be tempted to bid on if I had the funds and garage space. It sounds excellent with the current aftermarket exhaust.
It's unfortunate that @cdayton needs to move on from the car (no fault of the car), as it is a dream car for him. Hopefully there is another available to him in the future.
Bid with confidence, this car looks and sounds the part!
Bid in the amount of $22,500
@OvertonAutomotive Thank you for the comment. I love the color. It changes dramatically with even minor light variations, from glossy dark gray/black to flat chocolate to almost a light cappuccino. Erik Olsen (https://eriksolsen.com/photography) made the most of an early morning shoot with scattered clouds; I think he captured the dynamism of the color beautifully.
Gorgeous color!

@Hotwheeljohn Thanks for your questions and for the kind words. The Cargraphic exhaust was installed under previous ownership so I do not have the factory one. The Rennsport PPI PDF is below. The front license plate holder is held on by two screws in the front bumper, yes. It appears they only drilled in the top two, so if you wanted to put a Euro style or other slimmer plate holder you'd still have smooth bumper showing on the lower part. Tires are Michelin Pilot Sport 4S, 7/17 and 10/17 front, 12/18 rear. I will upload photos of a penny test to the gallery. The tires have significant tread left; Lincoln's eye is covered on the fronts and just visible on the rears.
GM, and sorry that you need to sell, hope all will be well with your family. Just a couple questions.
1) Does the factory exhaust come with the car? 2) Would you share the PPI report that you just recently had performed? 3) the from license plate, is that mounted by drilling through the front bumper, can it be easily removed to not show damage? And lastly what are the date codes and conditions of the tires?
Thanks in advance and good luck with your family emergency.
Welcome everyone! Please let me know any insights or questions you have. I absolutely love this car and do not want it to go, but family circumstances dictate that it must. I only hope the winner enjoys driving it as much as I do. Thank you!
