Now available for auction is this 2008 Porsche 987 Cayman S finished in Basalt Black Metallic over a black standard leather interior. Configured with a desirable 6-speed manual gearbox, this 987 was also factory optioned with 19” Carrera Sport wheels, the Bose High-End Sound Package, and Sport Chrono Package. Highlighting a lifetime of consistent dealer service on CARFAX, this 987 is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Tennessee while showing approximately 38k miles on the odometer.
The Basalt Black Metallic finish is preserved by paint protection film applied over the entire front bumper as well as the forward half of the hood and front fenders. The front right side of the bumper exhibits an imperfection in the protective film and the driver’s side rear quarter panel shows some small dings. Detailed images are provided in the photo gallery along with a clean CARFAX. This particular example was optioned from the factory with the Bi-Xenon headlamp package and 19” Carrera Sport wheels that are currently dressed in healthy Bridgestone Potenza tires with date codes from 2019.
Inside, the black standard leather interior features heated seats, the Bose High-End Sound Package, and Sport Chrono Package. All factory specifications have been retained and the seller reports all gauges and accessories to be fully functional.
Power comes from a mid-mounted 3.4L flat-six engine that sends as much as 295 HP to the rear wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission. Using this drivetrain, the Cayman S is capable of accelerating from 0-60 MPH in approximately 5 seconds. The optional Sport Chrono Package also adds an electronically controlled sport mode for optimized performance. CARFAX shows routine maintenance to have been addressed by Porsche dealers throughout the lifetime of the vehicle including the most recent documented service by Porsche of Orlando in 2021 at 37,713 miles.
This sale will include the original tools and flat tire kit, a set of owner’s books, and a clean title. With its desirable factory features and lower mileage, this Cayman S presents a fantastic opportunity for any discerning driver.

I have a 2006 cayman s and it’s a great car. Just recently tracked it at Watkins Glen, where I have more hours than I can count in a spec miata.
The cayman s was super capable and very balanced. Pedals were perfect for heel toe right out of the box (its the little things)
Whoever buys this is getting a proper drivers car. Good luck to all

thanks to Miles for allowing me to test drive the car today. Very clean and drove great.
Nice one . Have the same car. Wanted to chime in on the clutch comments. Mine has just over 85k miles and just started weeping a little at the RMS so I’ll replace in the near future, but with the mile this beauty has, I wouldn’t worry about the clutch for along time. Having 911s Boxster etc. the Cayman is my favorite driver for sure. Miles of smiles!
@Miles.S Tires can be seen replaced recently on the Carfax
@flyboy8784 very low miles on the tires.I would guess a few thousand. In great condition
Bid in the amount of $16,000
@tuntavern I have some photos getting uploaded. Looks like something scraped up against the front bumper. The clear bra appears to have taken most of it. I decided to leave it as opposed to pulling the clear bra to see what is underneath. The rest of the clear flora is in great condition

The liners are notorious for sagging. It’s hard to believe anything won’t stick to the chit on the other side of it... clutches can go at anytime, just depends on the owner. An interested buyer should scope it and check for leaky IMS/RMS. Looks like a good low mileage car, should bring good cash
Good Morning Miles! In your estimation, how many miles would you say are on those Bridgestone Potenzas? Thanks very much!

Hi! Can you please provide a couple of other pictures of the damage shown in picture #35. Any details you can provide would be great. Thanks.
@Bahnburner Thanks for noticing that. I went and looked today and the liner is sagging just a bit. I rubbed my hand across it and it went back but it does sag. Clutch feels great on this car. Most modern Porsches are easy on clutches. Ive seen several cars make it past 100k with a good clutch.
Best -Miles
@Bahnburner edit to previous post, seems like Caymans DON'T go through cluthes as quickly as 911s. Looking online people will get 60k+ on the clutch.
Car looks super clean. Looking at the Carfax the clutch has been checked but never replaced, but seems like Caymans do go through them as quickly as 911s.
Looking at image 77, is the lining on the rear deck hatch loose? It seems it is sagging a bit around the light.
@gwarvo thank you for the opening bid!
