Now available for auction is this generously upgraded 2008 Porsche 997 Targa 4S finished in Meteor Grey Metallic over a Stone-Grey leather interior.  Showcasing GT-style exterior modifications and a long list of performance upgrades, this unique 2008 example had its original engine displacement increased to 4.0 L resulting in a considerable increase in power.  Bearing under 8k miles on its rebuilt motor, this 2-owner Targa 4S is now being offered for auction in superb overall condition showing approximately 84k miles on its odometer.

Having never been subjected to track use, the Meteor Grey Metallic finish is stated to be in excellent condition; detailed images are provided in the photo gallery.  This Targa has been outfitted with custom body components including an OEM Turbo rear decklid and bumper, removable GT2 front fender flares and a GT3 front bumper with a carbon fiber grill.  Other modifications include a TECHART rear diffuser, TECHART carbon fiber side mirrors, FVD LED taillights and Dectane DRL LED headlights.  An electrically operated sliding glass Targa roof allows for both open air driving and a fully enclosed coupe experience when shut.  This 997 rides on aftermarket 20” D2Forged wheels which come wrapped in 2017 dated Nitto tires.

Inside, this Targa 4S highlights a luxurious Stone-Grey leather interior with heated and power operated front seats.  Custom features include red seatbelts, front and rear cameras, a Bluetooth interface and an upgraded flat-bottom carbon fiber steering wheel.

Commanding an original sticker price of over $105k, this Targa comes equipped with exclusive factory options including the BOSE High-End Sound Package, Sport Chrono Package Plus and Navigation Module for PCM.  The interior is stated to be in excellent shape and all gauges, electrical components and accessories are reported to be fully functional.

The original 3.8 L flat-six engine has been professionally converted to a 4.0 L displacement by PowerTech in New Jersey with an estimated power output of over 400 HP.  The seller confirms that documentation has been kept throughout the entire build process.  All four wheels are driven by way of a desirable 6-speed manual transmission with a Numeric short shifter and upgraded Sachs clutch.  A true performance-oriented build, this 4S is accompanied by a long list of high-end upgrades including:

  • IPD Plenum
  • GT3 Throttle Body
  • Fabspeed Competition Intake
  • Innotech X-pipe with 200 Cell Cats
  • Fabspeed Sport Headers
  • Fabspeed Max Flow Muffler
  • Fabspeed 3” Exhaust Tips
  • GT3 3rd Radiator
  • Aasco LWFL
  • Eibach Sway Bars
  • Torque Solutions Suspension Components
  • KW V3 Coilovers

The optional Sport Chrono Package Plus also enables the driver to adjust performance characteristics while underway.  Reported to be up to date on all scheduled maintenance, this 997 is being offered in excellent running order.

The sale of this uncompromising 997 will include a set of two keys, original books and tools, the stock front bumper and rear decklid, service records and a clean Carfax report.  Do not miss out on this incredible opportunity to get behind the wheel of this one-of-a kind 4.0 L Porsche 997 Targa 4S.

@Miguel the motor does not burn any oil, the last oil change was done about 1,000 miles ago. The oil is changed every 3,000 miles with Porsche oem oil filter and liqui moly oil.

  • jaynar (registered bidder) 3 years, 11 monthsago

Also - are the seats two tone? The pictures make it look like the leather on the center seat back is grey whereas the rest of the seat is black.

  • Miguel (registered bidder) 3 years, 11 monthsago

Does the engine burn any oil? Any driveability issues?

  • hcordero (seller) 3 years, 11 monthsago

  • hcordero (seller) 3 years, 11 monthsago

@JakeH Once your engine is apart, at the point it’s recommended to have it replaced . The manufacturer of the ims bearing is LN Engineering. I’ve also listed the picture on the block, of the serial number that comes with the bearing showing the upgraded bearing #.

  • hcordero (seller) 3 years, 11 monthsago

@JC688 more hp, new engine. Avoiding failure to the infamous bore scoring and ims failure.

  • JakeH (registered bidder) 3 years, 11 monthsago

@hcordero Yes, thank you it is a very detailed list. My question was more specific to the IMS bearing upgrade. Do you the manufacturer of this IMS upgrade kit?

  • JC688 (registered bidder) 3 years, 11 monthsago

Is there a reason for rebuilding the engine?
    Do you have the DME?
    Thanks!

  • hcordero (seller) 3 years, 11 monthsago

@JakeH I’ve listed te complete engine rebuilt list. Nice car and would love to bid but would have to sell mine first. Interested in a trade for an '87 Guards red Targa?

  • hcordero (seller) 3 years, 11 monthsago

@Aeast55 I believe your referring to the factory sub woofer. That’s where it’s mounted on the targa and convertibles.

  • hcordero (seller) 3 years, 11 monthsago

@ruadumbho Front bumper, air intake. Few other misc. parts

  • ruadumbho (registered bidder) 3 years, 11 monthsago

Any of the stock parts come along with this auction? Like bumpers and exhaust?

  • Aeast55 (registered bidder) 3 years, 11 monthsago

@hcordero Thank you. Another question I have is about the item to the right of the console in the foot well. Hard to tell what it is in the picture. Thanks.

  • hcordero (seller) 3 years, 11 monthsago

    @Aeast55 they were addressed .
New Starter along with a new battery.
    New Hood latch.

  • Aeast55 (registered bidder) 3 years, 11 monthsago

Hi, interested in the car and nice looking build. On the last page of the engine rebuild receipt there is a list of recommended fixes needed. Are there any that were NOT done on a later service and are still outstanding? Thanks!

@9under63 The fabspeed exhaust the car currently has is the street version not the race. The race version is very loud. The exhaust note on the car is very tolerable and your neighbors will be ok. I do have the DME report to follow on the listing .

  • 9under63 (registered bidder) 3 years, 11 monthsago

Does the sport button alter the exhaust sound? Any chance to post a driving and/ or a startup video? Need to know if my condo neighbors can stand the Fabspeed setup. Also, is a dme over rev report available? Thanks.
