@pauliefein That is perfectly explained. No worries for many many miles. This car looks like a wonderful example. These SL63’s are also a rare find regarding value. Should be a free ride at least, if kept in nice shape and reasonable mileage.
At 18k miles, I wouldn't be concerned with the head bolts. That's something to address way down the line, perhaps around 60k. Anecdotally, I've never heard of a failed head bolt under 80k miles.

@REB27 understand your perspective. I bought the car a little over a year ago and knew that I would only be driving it not even 1K in mileage. It is not a risk at this stage of it’s life. That does not mean you cannot factor in the cost to your all in price and bid accordingly on the vehicle. Once you own the car, you are more than welcome to carry out whatever preventative maintenance you see fit and I understand why you may want to have it done. Since the car is in my possession, I babied it, garaged when not in use, and did not drive it hard. It has given me no trouble, and never had one warning light on whatsoever.
@KvN it is very finally scratched, and only noticeable when the screen is in the off position. When backlit, it is impossible to see that.

@EUROsellinc Nice car, I have a 2012 with 58k miles and love it. But respectfully disagree as to your comment on head bolt replacement. Most experts say that up to certain 2011 engines, and I don’t know the engine number cutoff, it is better to spend the money to do it versus have the risk, however small, of catastrophic engine damage. GLWTA.
