One of the most exclusive versions of the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren and one of the fastest open-top sports cars ever produced, the 722 S Roadster pays tribute to Sir Stirling Moss’s record-setting victory in the 1955 Mille Miglia driving a 300SLR race car, with a starting time of 7:22 AM and a "722" racing number to match. Hand-built at the McLaren Technology Centre in England, the 722 S Roadster was limited to 150 examples in total, each finished in Crystal Antimony Gray Metallic over black semi-aniline leather and Alcantara with red stitching. It offers over 640 HP from its supercharged 5.5-liter V8 engine and comes equipped with carbon-ceramic disc brakes, lightweight 19" wheels, a stiffened sport-tuned suspension, and aggressive carbon fiber aerodynamics. Preserved with under 700 miles showing on the odometer, this rare and highly collectible U.S.-spec SLR McLaren is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Dubai.

The SLR McLaren’s body is constructed from carbon-fiber-reinforced plastic (CFRP) over a sophisticated carbon-fiber monocoque designed to provide extreme torsional rigidity. Benefiting from the motorsport experience of Mercedes-Benz and McLaren, the aerodynamics of the 722 S Roadster were optimized with a smooth carbon-fiber underbody, a large carbon-fiber front splitter, a revised carbon-fiber rear diffuser, and an integrated air brake with an adjusted extension angle in the trunk lid. This example is finished in exclusive Crystal Antimony Gray Metallic (701U) paint contrasted by dark-tinted lenses, exposed carbon fiber trim, 722 S badges, and a dark grey power folding convertible top. Other features include hood and fender vents, dual side exit exhaust pipes, butterfly doors, a clamshell hood, red brake calipers, and model-specific 19” forged alloy lightweight wheels in a metallic gunmetal finish. The car retains its original factory-mounted tires, the left side 722 S emblem was replaced, and the original orange side markers were swapped for OEM white units. The seller adds that three areas of the car were refinished to address minimal scratches sustained during shipment. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.

Inside, the cabin is upholstered in black semi-aniline leather and Alcantara with red contrast stitching, red seatbelts, and gloss carbon fiber accents throughout. Accessories include two-zone automatic climate control, a Bose premium sound system, a multi-function sport steering wheel with paddle shifters, blue McLaren instrument dials, SLR-branded door sill covers, and an ignition button on the gear selector.

The SLR 722 S Roadster features a hand-built 5.5-liter V8 with a Lysholm-type twin-screw supercharger, dual intercoolers, and a dry-sump lubrication system. It produces up to 641 HP and 605 lb.-ft of torque delivered to the rear wheels through a 5-speed AMG Speedshift R transmission, allowing acceleration from 0-60 MPH in as little as 3.7 seconds and a reported top speed of 207 MPH. The sport-tuned suspension of the 722 S features stiffer springs and shock absorbers than the standard SLR McLaren along with a 10mm lowered ride height. Stopping power comes from carbon ceramic disc brakes at each corner. The seller notes that the left and right door struts have been replaced and an oil service was recently completed.

This sale will include a spare tire, an air pump, a battery charger, two keys, and a clean title.

The seller would like you to know: “The value of this car will show in the coming years. Huge investment for real collectors. Thank me later :) good luck!”

Hi, can you provide details on the following comment in the description:

"The seller adds that three areas of the car were refinished to address minimal scratches sustained during shipment."

Where were the three areas, and what kind of repaint was done to address the scratches? Thanks.
