Up for auction is this 2009 Porsche 997.2 Carrera 4S Cabriolet finished in Meteor Grey Metallic over a two-tone Black and Stone Grey interior.  The second generation of the Porsche 997 was debuted in 2009 with new direct fuel-injected flat-six engines and a distinctive rear reflector band for the 4S models.  This 2009 example was configured at an original sticker price of over $126k with a 6-speed manual transmission, painted 19” SportDesign wheels, the Sport Chrono Package Plus, painted interior trim, illuminated door entry guards in carbon fiber, and Adaptive Sport Seats with painted backings.  It was acquired by the current owner in September of 2016 and upgraded with custom wheels and a performance exhaust including a Sharkwerks x-pipe and Cargraphic headers.  Showing approximately 65k miles on the odometer, this C4S Cabriolet is now being offered for auction by its owner out of California.

This Carrera comes finished in Meteor Grey Metallic with a black cabriolet top.  Optional details include a painted rear model designation, painted headlight cleaner covers, and wheels painted in Meteor Grey Metallic.  Some cosmetic imperfections are depicted in the photo gallery and the seller reports the front bumper to have been refinished under their ownership to address rock chips.  CARFAX shows minor damage to have occurred to the left rear end under prior ownership in 2015, although no further details are available. This 4S currently rides on a custom one-off set of 20" Cargrahpic three-piece wheels, and the original set of painted 19" SportDesign wheels will accompany the sale.

Inside, this 997.2 features a two-tone Black and Stone Grey interior with heated Adaptive Sport Seats featuring Porsche crested headrests and painted backrests.  Other exclusive options include illuminated door sill guards in carbon fiber, gear lever trim in leather, and a painted dashboard trim strip, rear center console, and instrument surround.  The driver is also supplied with self-dimming mirrors, a Bluetooth phone interface, a navigation module for PCM, the Bose High-End Sound Package, and a universal audio interface.  The seats show signs of wear and some of the leather upholstery exhibits damage.  A window regulator has been recently replaced and the seller confirms all accessories and electronics to be working properly.

This second-generation 997 Carrera 4S is equipped with a naturally aspirated direct fuel-injected 3.8L flat-six engine that drives all four wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission.  Offering an output of up to 385 HP and 310 lb.-ft of torque stock, the 4S Cabriolet can accelerate from 0-60 MPH in less than 5 seconds with a top speed of approximately 180 MPH.  The optional Sport Chrono Package is equipped and the exhaust has been upgraded with a Sharkwerks x-pipe along with Cargraphic mufflers and headers.  The seller reports standard service to have been kept up to date throughout their ownership with routine oil changes every 5k miles.

This sale will include the original set of SportDesign wheels and a clean title.  An excellent value for any enthusiast looking to get behind the wheel of a modern 6-speed Cabriolet, this generously optioned and tastefully modified Carrera 4S is not to be missed.

The description mentions "performance exhaust" to include X-pipes, mufflers and headers. Any other parts replaced? Cats? Has it passed California smog since the work was completed? Do you have original parts?

@Aforbord no, the scuffs on the soft top don't cause any leaks whatsoever. As for the damage, this is unknown, when my brother purchased the car he took it on a test drive and it drove perfectly fine.

@Havenhearth Thank you JSheen: I found your answers Very Helpful. Looks like a nice car. Best of luck with the auction.

    Best,

  • jsheen615 (seller) 2 years, 6 monthsago

@Pcars Yes I will try to get this posted as soon as possible, on top of this I just got information on the most recent service record on the car. Had the drive belt replaced, air filter, oil filter, and oil change

  • jsheen615 (seller) 2 years, 6 monthsago

@Tomstoy The car is on stock springs, just Cargraphic wheels. The sale of the car will come with BOTH sets of wheels

  • Tomstoy (registered bidder) 2 years, 6 monthsago

With the different wheels and springs. How has that affected the ride? How did it affect PASM ability to function? Can you upload a video of the exhaust sound with the changes you made?
    Thank you,

Can you show a better images of the Rocker panel damage to the passenger rear please.

  • jsheen615 (seller) 2 years, 6 monthsago

@Havenhearth -As for the paint, I'm not entirely sure. I had another 2009 C4S in Basalt Black Metallic and it had the same thing on that car. If someone has another example of a 997 and could explain this that would be great. This isn't the first time I've seen this orange peel type of issue on this generation, like I said I had this on my other 997.2 C4S.

-For the work needed on the car currently is nothing, the car drives perfectly as it sits. As for the next 2 years it will depend on the amount of miles that you put onto the car within those 2 years. The drive belt has been replaced already during the 60k mi service, clutch was replaced at 40k miles.

-On the cargraphic wheels (the ones in the picture), the rear tires are 0719 and the front tires are 4320

-No, the car always has the top up or put back at the end of every drive, no matter what.

-Yes, the car is always driven into the garage at the end of the day.

-Trying to get all the service receipts together that we have ASAP.

    Seller,

What caused the ripples on the passenger side rocker panels, in front of the right rear wheel, please?

What work do you anticipate this car will need in the next two years, beyond regular upkeep --oil, etc?

What are the date codes on the tires and how much tread do they have please?

Has the car been stored for long periods with the top down?

And was the car always garaged?

Thanks in advance for your time and for your assistance,

    David

The text says the seats show signs of wear but no pictures of the seats or bolsters. Can you supply interior shots? Also, can’t tell if the last service was done two or three years ago- can you add “service” records for 2019? Thanks

  • jsheen615 (seller) 2 years, 6 monthsago

@Tomstoy Sadly no, the previous owner didn’t have pictures of the damage when the car was purchased 5 years ago.
