We are pleased to offer this 2009 Porsche 997 Turbo finished in GT Silver Metallic over a black full leather interior.  Among the most desirable models of the 997 generation, the 2009 Turbo is unique in that it carries the coveted 3.6L Mezger engine of the 997.1 with the updated interior and PCM of the 997.2.  This 2009 Coupe commanded an original sticker price of over $140k with options including a 6-speed manual transmission, the Sport Chrono Package, Adaptive Sport Seats, metal door sill model insignias, a thicker leather steering wheel, and a leather-wrapped rear center console.  Originally sold in Connecticut, this Turbo has spent time in California and Florida and is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Missouri while showing just over 13k miles on the odometer.

This 997 comes finished in GT Silver Metallic and sports factory Exclusive red taillights.  Clear paint protection film has been applied over the front bumper and the forward three-quarters of the front hood. Additional images are provided in the photo gallery along with paint meter readings and a clean CARFAX report.  This example retains factory 19” Turbo wheels dressed in Michelin Pilot Sport tires, tread depth readings are provided for reference in the gallery.

Inside, you will find a premium black full leather interior with heated Adaptive Sport Seats along with several details from Porsche’s Exclusive Department including a thicker leather steering wheel, a rear center console in leather, and metal door sill guards with model insignias.  The cabin is described to have been kept in excellent condition, free of any excessive signs of wear or sticky surface coatings.

This 2009 Turbo is equipped with a twin-turbocharged 3.6L flat-six Mezger engine paired with a 6-speed manual transmission.  As much as 480 HP and 460 lb.-ft of torque are sent to all four wheels by way of a 6-speed manual transmission, allowing for a 0-60 time of approximately 3.5 seconds.  The optional Sport Chrono Package allows the driver to optimize performance characteristics while enabling the engine to overboost for a short period to increase peak torque over a certain RPM range.  History of maintenance is provided on CARFAX showing a preemptive 20k-mile service to have been carried out by New Country Porsche of Greenwich in 2011 at just over 2,100 miles along with another preemptive 10k-mile service in 2013 at just over 5,500 miles.  The seller notes that a fresh fluid and filter service has been carried out in preparation for sale.

Accompanied by a clean title, this highly sought-after 6-speed 2009 Turbo is an excellent choice for any discerning driver or collector, do not miss out.

@Needtoaddanotherone2 In the 997.1 Turbo, the rev limiter (redline) kicks in at 6750 RPMs in gears 1-5 and 6800 in 6th gear.
A reading of 2 in range 5 does not mean it was overrevved two times. It means it registered two ignitions in range 5. One revolution of the crank is 3 ignitions, so this means it spent less than one revolution at this speed which equates to 5 one-thousands of a second (5/1000 or .005 seconds) in range 5 (assuming 8k RPMs, range 5 is 7900-9000)

@beckerj01 All good. Was just surprised. It's a very common thing / option. Better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it (as they say).

  • beckerj01 (registered bidder) 2 years, 7 monthsago

    @BigSwole no that’s why I asked.

  • BigSwole (registered bidder) 2 years, 7 monthsago

FWIW I don’t know the seller or the car…but I do own 2 997 Turbos. Incredible cars.
    1. The last manual 911 Turbo
    2. The last Mezger 911 Turbo
    3. The last 911 Turbo with hydraulic steering
    4. The last 911 Turbo that wasn’t huge!

This is an informative (and entertaining) video on DME reports. He talks about a lot of Porsches, but at about 4 minutes and 14 minutes in he specifically talks about 997 Turbos. This car’s DME is not a big deal. It’s not even a small deal. Anyone considering bidding on this car needs to watch the whole video (others should watch it for entertainment and information)! Beautiful car. GLWTA.

Shame about the over-rev, but these are incredibly stout engines. The over-rev will not affect the final bid.

  • Chappie (registered bidder) 2 years, 7 monthsago

Nice car, but a little more info from seller explaining what happened in the last 0.8 of hours of operation would help.

  • PHo911 (registered bidder) 2 years, 7 monthsago

@Needtoaddanotherone2 Red line is 6750. From experience, unpacking DME info on these turbos is an Internet deep dive…

  • honeybadger (registered bidder) 2 years, 7 monthsago

Love the color and everything about it - more explanation from the seller and/or those knowledgeable about what that means would be very helpful. Thank you.

  • honeybadger (registered bidder) 2 years, 7 monthsago

@Needtoaddanotherone2 Got it thank you. I was just looking at the photos and where the little marks go from black to red/orange.

  • Needtoaddanotherone2 (registered bidder) 2 years, 7 monthsago

    @honeybadger Redline is 7,000 unless I'm mistaken.

  • honeybadger (registered bidder) 2 years, 7 monthsago

@honeybadger Looking at the tach photo, it looks like red zone starts at 6,600 and only goes to 8,000 rpm. So that means somebody revved the engine at basically the max range of the tachometer or even higher twice in the last 0.8 hours of the engine operations?

  • PHo911 (registered bidder) 2 years, 7 monthsago

@Needtoaddanotherone2 Must’ve been the valet at A-1 EZ OK Park

  • honeybadger (registered bidder) 2 years, 7 monthsago

I've been looking for a 997 Turbo. I'm not very familiar with how DME reports work. The fact that all the ranges show the limits were hit at 380.9 hrs, and total operating hours is 381.7, does this mean, for example range 5 were hit twice in the last 0.8 hours of the engine running? In forums, they say that for 997 Turbos, range 5 is 7,900-9,000 RPMs. Assuming that is true, does this mean 7,900-9,000 RPM range was hit twice in the last 0.8 hours of the engine running? Thank you for everyone's help in better understanding what this means.

  • Needtoaddanotherone2 (registered bidder) 2 years, 7 monthsago

@Dino356987 My comment wasn't an attempt to disparage your dealership. I've visited your website and read the testimonials and comments all raving about the quality of your inventory but the fact remains - someone over revved the car.

  • Dino356987 (seller) 2 years, 7 monthsago

@Edzach we did not take the car for joy ride, we’ve dealt in exotic cars for almost 30 years and take great pride in what we do, so please refrain from making comments like this.

  • Edzach 2 years, 7 monthsago

@Needtoaddanotherone2 recently - as in the selling dealer went for a joy ride.

  • Needtoaddanotherone2 (registered bidder) 2 years, 7 monthsago

Holy cow that DME shows someone took the car (380 hour mark) for a joy ride and didn't know how to drive.

  • Dino356987 (seller) 2 years, 7 monthsago

I have sent a picture of the DME to PCar, should be up anytime

  • Needtoaddanotherone2 (registered bidder) 2 years, 7 monthsago

I agree a DME would be very helpful.

  • two2one (registered bidder) 2 years, 7 monthsago

Can you upload the DME please?
