Available for auction is this beautifully configured 2009 Porsche 997.2 Carrera Coupe finished in Porsche Racing Green Metallic over a Sand Beige interior. This 2009 example had been under the care of 2 private owners prior to the seller’s purchase in 2017. It features a painted rear center console, heated and ventilated power Comfort Seats, a 7-speed PDK transmission, and the Bose High-End Sound Package. Said to be in excellent condition overall with approximately 35k miles currently showing on the odometer, this 997 is now being listed by its seller out of Washington, D.C. accompanied by the original window sticker, a set of winter wheels, and service records dating back to 2010.
This 997 is finished in the highly uncommon shade of Racing Green Metallic (22G/J1), Porsche’s take on classic British Racing Green. The paint is said to remain in exceptional condition with clear protective film applied in front of the rear wheels and over the mirror covers. The only noted flaw is a slight ding on one of the rear quarter panels (detailed images are provided in the photo gallery). An optional painted rear model designation is equipped and this example rides on factory 18" Carrera IV wheels dressed in healthy Sumitomo tires. A set of aftermarket winter wheels and tires are also said to be included in the sale.
The exterior finish is complemented by a Sand Beige trimmed interior. The cabin is said to be in excellent shape with all gauges and accessories working properly including the aftermarket Kenwood radio with Apple Carplay. The original head unit is also included and the original window sticker highlights the following options:
This second-generation 997 carries a direct fuel injected 3.6 L flat-six engine that sends 345 HP and 287 lb.-ft of torque to the rear wheels by way of a 7-speed dual-clutch PDK transmission. Using this drivetrain, this Carrera is capable of accelerating from 0-60 MPH in approximately 4.5 seconds and on to a top speed of 180 MPH. This example is said to be mechanically stock and up to date on all routine services including an oil and filter change within the last year. The seller has offered to provide another oil service prior to sale and confirms that service records will be included dating back to 2010.
This sale will include a set of 2 keys, owner’s manuals, tools, the original window sticker, factory radio, some spare parts, and a clean title. A truly stunning specification, this 997.2 Carrera is not to be missed.

@JockRobertson "Launch" car refers to the cars that Porsche sent to every single Porsche dealer for the "Launch" of the 997.2
C2S Coupe was this color green
Base C2 Coupe was White with gray
C2S Cab aqua blue with gray
C4SCab Ruby Red with Tan
C4S Coupe agate Gray with Black and sports bucket seats
Every dealer got at least one of each. Many dealers got more than one of each. Some many more than one of each.
JR, you're gonna love this car, thanks for bidding and for the excitement.
What did you really like about the car? It's very pretty
Congratulations! Jock!!
Looks like @jrexotics came in and won again. Mr Exotics has gotten several nice 911's lately. I just don't know if they are for a personal collection or if they end up for sale somewhere, but if anyone has a link, I might be interested in one of his past purchases.

@HowS @Dipper17 . I didn’t miss the launch feature. I haven’t done that for 50 years. Who does? I’m actually puzzled about why Porsche offers it. I raced a 72 coupe for many years. Still have it. The beauty was in the turns and the brakes. Driving a slow car fast, I guess.
The interesting thing about this car and its color is, this car is not a launch car. The green launch cars were all C2S cars. This car is a base coupe not and S and the base coup launch cars were all white with gray interior.
I love the 18's on this car. According to the Porsche marketing materials of the time, these wheels were designed to evoke the image of the original Fuchs wheels with a more modern look. I also love the painted console option. Really makes the interior pop.
GLWA.
@Apollo7 - Sorry, but you are off by a factor of 100. 400 is 1.67% of 24,000. Still a small number, but not two one hundredth of one percent...

@3wheel42 Roughly 24,000 non-turbo 997.2's produced in 2009, 400 of them were launch editions in racing green so 0.02% is pretty rare. I have a 997.2 S in this color and truthfully I don't care if it is rare or the most common color out there, I just like it.
@SummerYellow : a bit more info on your questions: First I checked the NHTSA website for the VIN of the 997 and found no recalls, open or closed, on this vehicle.
Second: more info on the winter wheels: the package was purchased January of 2010 from Tire Rack, so the tires are older than that, probably by 6-9 months. Again, there is virtually no wear on the tread, but they are certainly older. The wheels themselves are : F 18x8 ET 54 CUP 4880 54S, and R 18x10 ET 58 CUP 4810 58S. The wheels are TPMS fitted per the invoice. let me know if there are any further q's.
@SummerYellow @SummerYellow: re winter tire ages: no, not completely sure. will look at the invoice and try to get a pic of the age oval to read better. Had trouble reading in the garage.
RE; license plate holder on the front: I purchased a unit that plugs into the tow hook hole in the front bumper, it then provides a way to attach the plate. slightly off-center --very Euro! I have the plug for the hole if you don't need to mount a front tag.
Tire Rack invoice looks like June 2014, you sure the tires are from 2012?
Next question- front license plate holder is attached by a bracket from the grill or just screwed into the bumper?
@SummerYellow The winter wheels and tires were purchased as a package from TIRE Rack for about $1900 per the receipt in the service records.
@JockRobertson sorry forgot to mention the winter tires have NO WEAR. i think they've been on the car for a couple of weeks at the most --a little brake dust. Virtually FULL tread.
@SummerYellow . The fronts of the winter tires are 235/40 r 18. they are Michelin Pilot Alpin dated 02/12. The rears are 265/40 R 18. also Michelin Alpin. They are all M+S. i will send a PIC to PCAR to post. I am not aware of any outstanding or previous recall but i'll go through the service records this evening.
@JockRobertson - do you have a photo and info on the winter wheels/tire setup?
I'm aware of only one possible recall relating to coolant lines, is/was this car affected?
@Scott_Ales Undercarriage photos added at the end of the gallery; 10
Additional photos have been added to the listing gallery.
Minor point, but might be useful to know. Included is a set of Weathertech front floormats carrying the Porsche brand. They're terrific. I have used them all the time to protect the carpet. The carpet itself is perfect and the floormats have the effect of compressing the nap of the carpet., so that's why the carpet has the chevron appearance in many of the interior pictures. Just FYI.
@Blurino I was told by the previous owner that he did a track day (Mid-Ohio PCA?) with the car and the service records show his pre-event tech inspection
I’m told a pic was added to the gallery pointing out the very small door ding on the right rear fender. Again much smaller than a dime.
Working on adding undercarriage photos now, should be up later today. There are no surprises.
Has this car ever been on a race track?
The Front tires were built 04/14 (fourth week of 2014) Rear tires built 42/16. In response to previous question about age. Tread depth is fine, 60-70 %.
A new photo has been added to the listing gallery.

@Blurino yes, it’s very tiny, much less than a dime. The car is in the shop for an oil change until tomorrow when I’ll visit and get the pictures.
I’m having difficulty finding the small ding, on the fender. Can you take a picture of it and it to me?
Bid in the amount of $35,000
Bid in the amount of $21,997
@massur @massur. I will be precise on Monday when I can get to the car again. The rear tires I put on shortly after purchase in 2017. The fronts were good at that time but I’ll provide date codes when I get to the car. I have driven less than 10 k since purchase.
@ JockRobertson
Can you please precise how old are the tires anf their mileage or thread
Also can you post some pictures of the under carriage
Thank you
Thank you
@Rich_417 Just those two options.
@Scott_Ales YES, but it will be a couple of days. Having oil changed at the shop right now—right after pics were taken—and I’ve asked the shop to photograph the undercarriage. Should be better than I can do from the ground.
@Sdberg04 Does the interior pic not show a pdk? in addition to the equipment list? I am new to all of the, but was there any other option available beyond pdk or manual for the .2’s? Thx.
Not an unusual color. This was the launch color for the 997.2. When I was looking, there were quite a few in that color for sale. That being said, it is a nice color if you like green.
7-speed PDK transmission,? Pdk? Please confirm
Bid in the amount of $20,000
Possible to see under carriage photos? Even if just with a smart phone while parked on the ground.
Welcome to the auction of my 997.2. It's a super car and very well cared for. I'm PCA since '84, and have raced and enjoyed 5 911's and was president of the PCA founders region. I hope you love these cars like I do. I will share any info I have on this car and i hope it goes to someone who enjoy and appreciate it.
