Now up for auction is this 2009 Porsche 997 Turbo Cabriolet finished in Black over a black full leather interior.  Perhaps the most desirable of all 997 Turbos, the 2009 model year marked the final iteration of the Mezger flat-six engine as well as the first use of the updated 997.2 interior.  This 6-speed cabriolet example was optioned at an original cost of over $151k with features including a limited slip differential, the Sport Chrono Package, a painted rear center console, illuminated doorsill guards, Alcantara door panels, and much more. Purchased from a Porsche dealer by its current owner in 2017 and driven approximately 1k miles a year since, this Turbo has undergone all recommended service through an authorized dealer and is now being offered by its seller in New Jersey while showing just over 39k miles on the odometer.

This 997 is finished in Black and the seller reports some minor road-going wear on the front hood.  Detailed images are provided in the photo gallery along with paint meter readings and a clean CARFAX. Characteristic features of this Turbo include wide fenders with rear side air intakes as well as a speed-activated rear spoiler. This example rides on factory 19” Turbo wheels dressed in Michelin tires with date codes from 2016.

Inside, you will find a premium black full leather interior with exclusive options including a painted rear center console, a thicker leather steering wheel, door panel centers in Alcantara, and Porsche crested headrests.  Other factory details include a shifter/handbrake lever in aluminum-look, a storage compartment lid with model logo, and illuminated doorsill guards in stainless steel.  Among the driver's amenities are heated and ventilated front seats, a Bluetooth phone interface, a 6-disc CD/DVD changer, and a universal audio interface.   As a 2009 model, this Turbo features the updated PCM and interior of the 997.2 generation. Some signs of wear are visible on the seats and the seller reports all gauges and accessories to be fully functional.

Powering this 997.1 is a legendary 3.6 L twin-turbocharged Mezger flat-six engine that drives all four wheels through a desirable 6-speed manual gearbox.  With an output of up to 480 HP and 460 lb.-ft of torque, this Turbo is capable of accelerating from 0-60 MPH in under 4 seconds.  Further enhancing the performance is the optional Sport Chrono Package Turbo and limited-slip rear differential lock.  All routine maintenance has been addressed through an authorized Porsche dealer including a preemptive 60k mile service performed in 2017 at 35k miles, as well as the most recent service in 2020 at 38k miles.  History of maintenance is shown on CARFAX and a DME report is provided for reference in the photo gallery.

This sale will include the original owner’s books, window sticker, some service records, and a clean title. This sought-after 2009 Turbo is sure to catch the attention of any discerning Porsche enthusiast, do not miss your chance to become the next owner.

    Hi Merceyhealth,

I do not believe either the Water Pump or the expansion tank have been worked on or replaced. I have the service from the 10, 40 and 60k services and there is no mention on any performance of such work. I can add the DME report I have from 2 year ago. The guys at Pcar ran one for me yesterday, I will see if they can post there results. Thanks for your interest.

    Regards, Jon

Seller I don’t see the DME ignition report. Good maintenance record provided. Any other maintenance records especially water pump or expansion tank replacements? Also and I have to ask have the coolant lines been pinned?

If you have never driven the 997 MT turbo you would never know the pure power and connection that is available to the driver. If you want a super car that delivers the ultimate driver experience then this one is for you. This model is the ultimate expression that THERE IS NO SUBSTITUTE and this turbo with 3 pedals is the KING of all Porsche turbos past and present.

The 2009 997.2 turbo is a great cross over year. You kept the wonderful Mezger and had the interior updates as well. Really very nice example here. This should do well.
