Up for auction is this highly desirable 2009 Porsche 997.1 Turbo Cabriolet presented in the rare and stunning combination of Malachite Green Metallic over Sand Beige full leather.  Coveted for its legendary twin-turbocharged Mezger engine and updated PCM, this first-generation 2009 Turbo showcases a 6-speed manual transmission, the Sport Chrono Package, and painted hardback Sport Seats among other exclusive options.  As previously listed on PCARMARKET and with just over 15k miles now showing on the odometer, this collector grade 997 Turbo is being offered for auction by its seller out of Long Island, New York.

The rare special-order Malachite Green Metallic finish is noted to be in exceptional condition with clear paint protective film recently applied over the entire front end and inner door jambs (detailed images and paint meter readings are provided in the photo gallery).  Factory features include a power-operated cabriolet top in Cocoa (brown) and factory 19” Turbo wheels that come dressed in Bridgestone tires.  A Rennkit electric rear spoiler conversion has also been carried out for greater reliability.

Upon entry, the driver is greeted by an absolutely pristine Sand Beige full leather interior complemented by factory painted hardback Adaptive Sport Seats.  As a 2009 example, this model also features the updated PCM from the second-generation 997. Configured at an original sticker price of over $153k, this Turbo also highlights the following options:

  • Heated Front Seats
  • Bluetooth Interface for Mobile Phone with Phone Holder
  • Sport Chrono Package Turbo
  • XM Radio
  • 6-Disc CD/DVD Changer
  • Floor Mats in Interior Color
  • Universal Audio Interface
  • Door Finishers Painted in Exterior Color

  • Trim Strip Painted in Exterior Color
  • Cabriolet Roof in Cocoa
  • Sport Shifter
  • Rear Center Console Painted in Exterior Color

This first-generation 997 Turbo is among the final Porsche models to have been equipped with a GT1-derived Mezger engine.  The twin-turbocharged 3.6L flat-six power plant in this example is capable of sending as much as 480 HP and 460 lb.-ft of torque to all four wheels through a desirable 6-speed manual transmission. All routine service items are said to have been addressed and this Turbo is said to be in fantastic driving condition for its next owner.

This sale will include a set of 2 keys, owner’s manuals, and a clean title. No world-class Porsche collection is complete without a Mezger 997, and this Malachite Green Metallic Turbo is one of the most unique and tastefully configured examples on the market.

@vero I think if you read the description it will be clear. There is a clear coat on the nose and that results in a higher meter reading. It's exactly where it should be with a film applied.....

  • Venticoffee (registered bidder) 3 years, 2 monthsago

@PCARMARKET would you be able to speak or provide pictures to my earlier question regarding pic 59 under armrest, pic 74/75 on side bolster and the two items mentioned from the last owner with a hole in passenger door jam and possibly crease on left front. Thank you.

@vero there is paint protection film installed on those panels which will result in a higher reading/thickness.

  • PCARMARKET 3 years, 2 monthsago

@Venticoffee the photos are correct, thank you for pointing that out. The description has been updated to reflect the correct tire brand currently installed on the Turbo.

  • PCARMARKET 3 years, 2 monthsago

@Mercyhealth please be clear this car is in original condition. As another commenter pointed out, the 2009 is a very special year because it carries some components of the 997.2. The motor is the Mezger as this is the final year for that in the 911 Turbo

My absolute favorite color. Owned a Malachite Green 2009 Targa 4s a few years.

  • RicePark (registered bidder) 3 years, 2 monthsago

I was the second owner, all paint was original then except I had the front bumper sprayed because I wanted the front license plate holes gone!
Left front fender has or had(?) a slight crease in it on the top. Very hard to see, but was there or is there. Passenger door jam has a hole more than likely made by a Dent Wizard tech so they could access dent they removed.
Wonder where the OEM Cocoa mats went? They looked great in there!

  • Venticoffee (registered bidder) 3 years, 2 monthsago

@vero the seller states “ clear paint protective film recently applied over the entire front end and inner door jambs ”. It is safe to assume that those higher reading are the protective film.

  • vero (registered bidder) 3 years, 2 monthsago

There seems to be a lot of paint meter readings at 3.5 4.0 and 4.5. Then there are a lot of readings at 9.0 and 9.5 which are very high for a Porsche. Could you explain the difference and why some of the readings are so high? Thanks.

  • MagnumHI (registered bidder) 3 years, 2 monthsago

@Mercyhealth in 2009 Porsche updated the PCM to the 997.2 version. This is the only 997 turbo made with the 3.6 Mezger and the 997.2 PCM - highly desirable and rare car.

    Seller - GLWA, it’s a beauty!

  • Mercyhealth (registered bidder) 3 years, 2 monthsago

@Jenco beautiful ride made obvious with high bidding early. This turbo will do well. You state that this is a 997.1 with 997.2 upgrades. Does that include replacement of the Mezger engine?

As far as no ventilated seats that’s a positive for me. Not sure if the same holds true for this model but seat ventilation makes the center cushion harder and less comfortable. In the newest iteration of the 911 vented seats clearly are harder and IMO less appealing.

I’m not a track guy but if you had a stable of cars would you pick a cabriolet to race around with? If in that case why would one need PCCBs?

    Good luck!!

  • Venticoffee (registered bidder) 3 years, 2 monthsago

Apologies for not asking in same note. In pic 59 under the arm rest above the carpet is it cut or is it pen markings or what? Would you please provide clarity and some closer pics? Same for pics 74/75 is there a small (pencil eraser size) discoloration on the driver’s left side bolster? Or is it lint or just in the photo? Thank you.

  • Venticoffee (registered bidder) 3 years, 2 monthsago

Thanks. Would you please speak to the tires as the description states Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires but clearly the pictures are Bridgestones?

Beautiful build. Has there been any maintenance or repairs completed since the 2nd owner back in 2017 when under 10k miles? Do you have any of the service records? Thanks and GLWS

  • Blackpony 3 years, 2 monthsago

@Abuong01 PCCB should last longer than the Hans Mezger Turbo. The upgraded PCCB system provides driver more confidence, as no brake fade when making repeated high speed stops or driving mountain roads. A plus is reduced maintenance and less work for detailing as 2009 Turbo Cabriolet used as a daily driver.

  • Jenco (seller) 3 years, 2 monthsago

    Sorry no window sticker

  • SBerastequi (registered bidder) 3 years, 2 monthsago

    Paperwork, ie. window sticker???

  • Rich_417 (registered bidder) 3 years, 2 monthsago

This car or build an outlaw? Um... I think this car! GLWS.

  • Abuong01 (registered bidder) 3 years, 2 monthsago

@Blackpony PCCB very expensive to replace and unless the car is tracked isn't necessary given Porsche has amazing "standard" brakes. Agree on ventilated seats :)

  • Jenco (seller) 3 years, 2 monthsago

I’m definitely going to miss it myself it’s truly an amazing driving car

  • RicePark (registered bidder) 3 years, 2 monthsago
